in the bchl every team charges billet fees, and every team is subjected to the league minimum in tuition fees. countless of my peers, myself included have been offered contracts post covid that are 2k/mo in tuition + 500/mo in billet fees. understandably the top players on each team will be “sponsored” and will be fortunate enough to play for free. in terms of tuition it is more player to player than team based, although some teams are still quite stingy on prices all around regardless of the athlete. where it becomes more team to team based is their billeting, for example team C makes hometown players billet so everyone gets the “jr hockey experience”, and theyre not alone on that front. Some teams push for hometowns boys to billet, some are more relaxed. SJ/MJ has tuition + billets.

Great point! From our experience this is true of the BC, SJ & MJ are still free as of now

Awesome video like always. Some of the teams around me must charge a fortune (NOJHL). How else would they exist playing with 200 fans in attendance? Unless I'm missing something. Thanks for another great video.

Any idea on the MHL fee structure?

It used to be free, but we haven’t sent a guy there in a while so not certain. Pretty sure they charge tuition and billeting but it’s not that much

hey, I got an invite to an NCDC team main camp. Does this mean that the teams interested or is it just to take my money? I'm also a goalie if that makes a difference.

Hi, it all depends. A good idea is to email the team directly to see their interest level.

@@ahadvising8 I was the one who initially reached out and sent a highlight film, and the head coach emailed me separately 2 months later with the invite to main camp

In this case, it seems like they’re just digging up old emails to invite as many people as possible to main camp. Probably best to consider other opportunities
