- Matt Murley and Mike Grinnell of Spittin’ Chiclets were given a full tour of Arizona State’s new $134 million facility by NHL draft pick Josh Doan.

Been to a couple ASU hockey games this year. The crowd was into it and the games I went to were sold out. It was a great environment! It’s funny they want more D1 hockey teams on the west coast. Would be great to have a west coast division someday.
We definitely need more college hockey locker room tours. There are tons of football and basketball tours but the hockey gets over looked. 10/10 great production and the hosts crushed it.
So fun watching games there. ASU is on its way to getting top recruits and building perennial winners.
AZ hockey IS Doan and it's great to see Josh carrying the name forward.
They are starting to tap into more of the ever growing pipeline of good players coming out of California and are close to stealing some solid Western Canadians away from Denver and North Dakota. Just gotta get in a conference

Holy smokes. Played D1 back in the day and never thought I'd see a team in AZ let alone with this kind of setup. Amazing.

Fuck yeah. Corby was the equipment manager for the short lived ECHL team the SF Bulls. I drove the Zamboni there and made lots of ice.
So much fun catching a game there. Saw the Avs at Mullet and boy was it pricey but awesome. The ASU games are hella fun too. ASU also got some of the cleanest unis in college.
College teams in America are like pro teams in the rest of the world. Crazy how much money goes into college sports in the US
Liane Blyn used to run Athletic Based Training in Holliston MA. She'd work with all the high school kids and was incredible for us. Our hockey team went from 1-18-1 to 12-8 and went 4 rounds deep in states. A lot went into that but the fact the entire team worked out together throughout the year and her (and her husband Rich)'s help went a long way.

These kids have it made. Playing hockey in a warm climate, super hot women on campus. ASU is known as a elite party school. What more could you ask for? Enjoy it boys
It is insane knowing how the conditions were at Oceanside and now to see this facility they are in! Talk about a total 180 for the amenities!
For real, I remember the ACHA days as a fan, like maybe 300 people showed up for big games. And the locker rooms were such dives. Loved it, and sad to hear its closing.
Pegula Ice Arena at Penn State is unreal too. I got a tour of the facility during 90% construction in 2013 as an engineering student and was blown away. Better than some NHL arenas!

I can totally get your frustration if you are affiliated with a school that is paying a lot of money for sports and not for students. However, I think quite a few people don't realize the bureaucratic red tape that is involved with paying for these things. These school are not just shelling out a quarter of a million and stuff directly for sports facilities.
That was cool.
so THIS is why NHL is so adamant about having hockey in Arizona. Build up the base, alot of high income to pay for it. To hell that it's hot down there, they have the resources to sustain hockey rinks. I play year round in Canada and it's awesome to play in the summer, go in with flip flops, after the game a cold beer feels extra nice.

Sweet for a hockey team but still does not even compare to a div 1 football or baseball locker room.
Went to Rangers/ Coyotes game, 70% of the crowd was wearing Rangers Jerseys, only 5000 seats and the arena was still not full . The Coyotes should spend 1/2 the money ASU is on their team, maybe they can start drawing a crowd again.
Of course clown Coyotes fans would probably claim it was "packed and raucous" all night, and they had the majority of fans in the building 😂
