I took my wife's last name, Paropa. Times are changing. I had nothing against my last name, but her and I aren't traditional. My original name was Gabriel Woodstock, and now it's Gabriel Paropa and I'm good with that.
I've not heard of a man taking the women's name before. It's cool though. Each couple should just go what they're happy with.

I feel as though a man should also consider that they wife might want to keep their name not expect your wife to give up her name when I get married I would definitely have my wife decide whether she wants to keep her name,have all both of our names or for me to carry her last name cause I have no problem doing that....so that's good my dude that was cool of u to do

Loni the bible saying that you become one "means spiritually" not that you need to share the same last name😑. In many Christian cultures women don't change their last names anyway so it's nothing new.
My friend combined both if their last names so both of them changed their last names. She said they are both becoming 1 unit so combining last names and making a whole new last name is what they both did. Love it! A
If you add your husband lastname to your surname it does not mean that you loose your identity. When you get married you become one.

I hyphenated my name. My husband and I had this conversation before we got married. He said he didn't care but knowing how sensitive he is I knew it would mean a lot to him seeing we wouldn't be having children. It would make us more of a family. But I'm my dad's first biological child (I have an older half sister) and my full brother and I don't have children and it seems like he may not have any either. My dad had us late in life too.

I too am thinking about my boyfriend and his last name, and although I'm not suuper keen on his last name ... if he asked me to marry him, I would also hyphenate it!! To make him feel I am a part of HIM! And we are one now!
Yes, i am also from a sort of blended family! From my mom's side, and so me and my sister are our dad's only kids, and me and my boyfriend also discussed it, and we don't want to have kids! I don't want to have kids! And so my surname is so very special to me, as part of my dad, and it makes me so sad to be the end of the line with that special name!! I'm not going to pass it down.
So while I'm still alive I really want to, and can't bare to lose my surname! It means so much to me, my family, my heritage! And it's something that came only with age, realising how much it means to me!

I think Jeannie was being kind of lowkey rude when Tamera mentioned her hyphenated name and when Loni said you should take your husband's name. I totally understand what Jeannie was getting at saying that her name represents her roots and I'm here for it, but don't judge someone because they decided to drop their completely for their husband. It's their choice. No one is judging you for not taking your husband's name.
Also, how many damn sacrifices did she ask of Freddie? That's my main question.
What sacrifice did Freddie make in this situation? She just didn't take his name, which he was never entitled to to begin with...

You need to re listen to what she said, Loni was referring to a woman taking her husbands last name as being in the Bible and THATS what Jeannie was saying No it doesn’t because it doesn’t. Nobody had last names in the Bible. They were known for their towns.
according to the Word you become one flesh, so taking the name is implied as genealogies are recorded through the males of the family who are also the heads of the family - and i don't see why that's a problem, it just makes sociological and biological sense. There's always a wisdom in God's designs, including the family unit (man is the head, wife turns the neck lol) and when done right it's actually a beautiful symbiosis...but people are too prideful these days, women are tryna be men and everyone tryna get theirs - that kinda stuff has no place in a marriage. Marriage is a biblical concept anyway, so if that's not what you ascribe to then you're making up your own thing as you go...why get married anyway? js. 🤷🏾♀️
