- Heya everyone!
Finally, a new upload here! And this time, something I wanted to do for a long time... a metal cover of Onward! :D
This is probably the "heaviest" track there is on my channel so far (I mean, this song even contains some screaming in it) and, honestly, I really like how it turned out!
IMPORTANT: Aight, gonna update stuff and all, even though it's kinda meaningless:
I'll be taking a break on music (personal project) and all for an undetermined amount of time.
Been a few days/months I have a lot of trouble doing music things, feeling uninspired and, all in all, completely burned out of it.
I'll just mainly focus myself on the IEO novel this year, wishing to have it done and physically released before conventions, but that's it.
Every other personal projects of mine are now on hold until I get back that "spark" of inspiration/motivation again.
No idea how much time it'll take but don't expect much music from me in 2023 if things don't get better on my end regarding that, might dive into something else to change my horizons and ideas. We'll see how it goes!
Also, to add up to that, as you saw in the video, my program kept crashing several time when I tried to add the lyrics in the video. Doing that takes a lot of time and at the end, well, I said to myself : "Alright, no lyrics it is then". x)

Big thanks to Gabriel, as always, for the fantastic guitars and drums! Props to Jessy as well for those powerful vocals - I absolutely LOVE how it turned out, especially the screaming before the last chorus! :D

Don't worry about us, man. Everybody needs a recharge period at one point or another, and you've certainly earned a break with how much high-quality content you've made. Take your time.

Don't worry about taking a break JYC, you deserve it :( I can only imagine how stressful having to produce so frequently can be, even when you enjoy it :c I've gone through it with my artworks from time to time in the last few months and it's sometimes why I will take a month or most of a month off from drawing and uploading pony arts completely, because I need a refreshing -.-
I hope you have a great time of rest and recovery, we love you :) I have been especially blessed by your music the last couple years but it can only continue to come when the creator is in good health, and not stress producing :( I hope you will remain well and when you return, you will rise up even stronger and restored 💗

To be honest... I rather original XD I mean, music itself is really good and I love how it's chagned into metal style, but I feel it's a little... quiet? Or something? And vocal sounds muffled. I'm really fan of metal music, but here... I feel it could be better. Especially looking at your other works. Like "Sun of The Night", "The Necromancer" or "Luna's Future" remix/edit
That's a valid opinion! I expected some people might not like this version, which is fine! :)
Regarding the vocals, I admit I wanted to try some sort of mixing technique, where I put the background vocals 100% right and 100% left. When I listen to it on my monitors and my earphones, the vocals sound absolutely right but it's indeed possible that on some other device it might sound muffled, my apologies for that!

Merci bien ! Et non, il y a déjà eu plusieurs autres chansons de ce genre sur ma chaîne : la metal cover du thème d'Aqasha récemment, mais également des chansons plus anciennes comme "Warriors of Griffinstone" ou "More Cider!", par exemple !
Et oui, j'ai vraiment besoin d'une pause pour pouvoir revenir plus fort, avec une meilleure qualité dans mes musiques :)

Have to agree, at least with this particular song. Hate to say it but this felt like a miss for me.
this is because metal music often uses complex rhythms, and they just sounds kinda off
Which is a totally valid opinion - I expected that some people might not like this version ^^
Onward is excellent in and of itself, however, metal as a genre doesn't really suit the original. I personally have nothing against it, but the choice of the vocalist is pretty bad.
Aqasha's metal version on yhe other hand is literally flawless imo.
