Put in a water pump and a hose connection so you can put out fires. Most missions are with fire. And a backwards gearbox and fuel efficient engine setup.
I really like how the boat is coming along, the hull looks really nice.
If the reason you removed the full-sized door in the back is because water was getting in, putting a hatch at the same level doesn't solve that? But now you have bilge pumps anyway, so you might as well just put the door back in and save yourself some crouching.
Also I think you can put a fluid port in the floor of the cabin space and another underneath it belowdecks and it should drain any water in the cabin down to where your bilge pumps can take care of it.

Hey man, I know Im a newbie who took 1 day to build a small boat that is not as compact as this, but I reccomend putting the air in a taller place because of the new systems, you don't want to run into a storm and get your engine stalled because of water getting into the engine, I also used aircraft engines after your 1st vid and they give a lot of power for the medium proppelers and the ones you are using.
True but this can be changed at a later time if need be.
@@MrNJersey I agree, I also reccomend a pump inside the cabin in case of flooding, I got 1 in mine and it works really well

You shood make a autoland heli (it lands at a laser. Where the laser point the heli vill land or hower ower it and you will control the up/down)

This needs an emergency launch slide wjth recovery system. Like a rail to the water and a driving console outside also a door for water rescue

Never underestimate flare launchers! Light up the sky, make it daylight because to be honest: All those spotlights are mostly doing nothing but to hinder you most of the time.

Long term idea/build series idea. Make a ship that can carry at least 2 of these boats.
Can use it for times where a ship has the range to get somewhere and the boat gets you to the shore/pluck people out if the water.
hey. i know fuel is a big thing in the game but i know a way for a really fuel efficent way.
1 - engines 100RPS and 100 Power
2 - Face gearboxes towards engine
3 - make gearbox 6:5
Only tested with large props. uses about 10 fuel every 100 metres and really fast
Sugestion: add a pump at the the front entrance to stop water from gathering and sinking your ship
Doesn't work like that sadly, if there's a spot on the outside under the waterline the water will just be ther

Is there any benefit to having each engine with its own gearbox and clutch, then combining the power shaft (as you did at 7:14), as opposed to joining the power shafts together, then going to a singular (shared) clutch and gearbox?
No there isn’t, what you said would work exactly the same and be a little lighter. Just when your building something from scratch you miss stuff like that.

delta V Gaming how? The power shaft was connected between both motors. The only thing you could do is disconnect the clutch on one motor and run the other, but that’s the same as just running both slower. And only one propeller right? Lmk bc I didn’t watch whole vid.
ok, follow up question. What about the PID based engine controller. Any reason to go with one for each engine, as he did, as opposed to a single one controlling both starters/throttles, etc?
Brian Krewson the only thing I could think of is that you can only connect a pid to one device, but I am unsure as I haven’t played since the last update.
Great vid!! But are you going to use this boat in survival mode because you wont be able to use medium engines
He is not in the mode with the tech tree, so he will be able to use this in the survival.

What happens to the RPS without the micro controller? Is it just not proportionate to the throttle value?

This is definitely the creative game that I've wanted for a long time. I've got some quibbles with it, such as mechanical power being transmitted magically via pipes (I guess one could suppose that there's shafts and gears in them... and they're 100% efficient), but there's so many design considerations that put it far ahead of many games when it comes to engineering.
i am almost certain that all of his ships are idiot proof...

Medium engine creates 60000 power. Small prop at max can put out 20000. One medium engine needs 3 small props in order to output there maximum capacity.
Also depends on load, So not that easy unfortunately.
@@MrNJersey hmm okay. I have a "starter boat" that has 6 small engines with 6 small props. When i upgraded from 4 props I noticed more power but maybe that was just the 5th one and the 6th is redundent

Is there a reason you don't lead the exhaust out just through the coolant out pipe? I do that sometimes and it seems to work fine.
I swear I followed the instructions but mine dont start, sounds like no spark or no fuel fuel gauge is bouncing alot and RPS is 0
im about ready to give up :(.....update next day. After giving up and just adding accessories and lights and stuff its now working :)
Do you really need to put the fuel pickup at the bottom of the tank? Doesn't stormworks physics make it work fine from the top? (still suck up all the fuel?)

So for custom diesel tanks does one have to use a pump? For cooling, air you don't need one, the engine sucks it by itself.
Use a pump, and then use a hotkey or a button to turn them on in order to put fuel into the engines

I think the 3 invert hotkeys are 'u' 'i' and 'o' by default. Never bothered to remember which does which.

The micro controller what does it do I got confused
Ok so from what I can tell, it keeps the engine at a consistent RPS, no matter how engaged the clutch is, normally when you engage a clutch in stormworks your engine can stall, or you have to rev them pretty high before kicking it in.
but with that micro controller the engines automatically adjust to your target RPS for you
seems that my starter activates every rotation which is strange

why make small water tanks?
When the boat bounces over waves the coolant intake ports come out of the water, so it's a buffer until they resubmerge.
