I scoured the racks for flared denim all throughout the 2010s -- so glad that wide leg, flares, and straight leg jeans are back in style! I hope all jean styles stay available so that people can choose whatever silhouettes they like.

Perfectly done Alyssa! I appreciate how you aren’t telling anyone the rules of what they should wear but instead being neutral/ positive in how you describe each cut. ❤️🙏 I’m an average height busty woman (5ft 5 & 1/2 and I think reverse triangle body type) and I’m tired of people telling me to wear wide leg/ flared jeans. I hate wide leg/ flared jeans with a passion! When I wear them, I just feel 4 sizes larger than I am. I feel best in high waisted skinny or straight leg jeans because they elongate my legs while showing the delicate and slenderness in my bottom half. I make sure to pair them with the right cut top for my bust (usually v neck or scoop neck) to flatter my upper half. I so appreciate you allowing us busty ladies to emphasise our legs instead of bulking them up. If that makes my silhouette more dramatic, then call me a thespian 🎭 😆😁. #StopHatinOnSkinnyJeans

I love a high rise jean. I've already lived through a low rise jean stage back when my flat snatched stomach could rock that but now, I love all my foods and a high rise jean helps pull my stomach in. I feel confident and that's what matters most. 😁

I really appreciate this video. My takeaway was, while I may have a preferred jean style/one style that compliments my body more, all styles are open to me per what I want to highlight, and the tops and shoes I use. I have at least 3 pairs of skinny jeans I regret buying b/c they were trending, but don't look as good as my bootcuts. Now I see it's b/c they needed a different approach than the bootcuts. Looking at them like a pair of tights was really inspiring! So many options to consider now! Also, I really liked the photo examples. I will be experimenting, for sure!

@@uditapatel778 She mentioned that she has short legs and thus wears high waisted jeans. I’ve just started doing this.
She also noted that when wearing flares or wider leg pants for my body type I am balancing off that larger shoulder /larger chest by wearing those wide leg pants. Straight leg pants are good for most body types because they automatically help to balance off if you have a smaller bottom larger top like I do. She also mentioned a few occasions win, I guess, we can break the rules by wearing the wide leg pants and maybe something roomier on top. I hesitate to do that and go more for the more fitted top that she suggested would be better, but I might try wearing something with a little more volume. Hope this helps

Excellent video Alyssa, such useful practical information. I usually wear a midrise as I'm very short waisted with a X hourglass figure. As they tend to fit me more like a high rise. One thing I have noticed that makes a huge difference to the look of jeans on me is the length of the zipper/fly of the jeans, the longer length (from waist band to the crotch almost) are way more flattering than a shorter zipper/fly finishing around 4 to 5cm from the crotch. I have found less expensive petite jeans have the shorter zippers/fly (hope this makes sense). 😄😆💜

Awesome video Alyssa! I miss wearing denim throughout the week, dang business casual!
I love that there's a different style of jeans for everyone, I never used to wear denim because of the low rise. What can I say, I say no to crack!
I have a tip though, if you're petite and you want the look of long legs and you have a shorter torso, pick a mid-rise. I'm petite and anything above a 9-in rise sits really high on me like at my bra and sometimes I rock that, but if you're looking for that long legged look but find that your high-rise looks a little strange? Go for a mid-rise.

I’m short and love wide leg trousers with a little bit of edge , like black sequins ( not shiny) waist. However , I have to wear them with booties.

This was so helpful. I struggle mightily to find jeans that work for me. I'm 5'9, thin, very short-waisted, and busty. Most jeans labeled "ankle" length or "cropped" just look like they are WAY too short. Why is the assumption that our legs are all the same length? Similarly, the super-high-waisted trend just cuts into my ribs and does zero to slenderize my mid-section. The concept of balance is key!

I love this in-depth analysis, thank you. I usually wear a straight leg, but you’ve got me wanting to try a wide leg or boyfriend (my big calves would probably appreciate it!).

I'm so Happy wide leg and high rise is back. Even when I was 100 pounds I thought they looked awfull.
The only thing I would have liked you to add to this, is an overview of what can be done to fit heans. I know that you canctake them to a tailor - but depending on cut and rise, some are a better choice if they are to be fitted afterwards.
Some heans simply end up looking strange if tailored too much on the back because the pockets no longer fit; or on the sides because the front pockets get a wrong angle etc.
Even the best of tailors cant remove the darker shades that is typically hiding under the pockets at their seems and thus, certain fits just are'nt as good for certain types of tailoring. I learned that the hard way :/

Ciao Grazie per il grande video. . Can you do a video on maybe a few types of denim fit & create outfits around that especially focusing on footwear. You gave some really good examples of that in this video but to get your live fashion expertise with your wardrobe would be great. I would love to especially see how to style a boyfriend Jean chunky boots-How to balance with a top & or blazer.

Great video! What style and or brand works best for a flat butt? I love jeans but have a hard time finding ones that make me look good from behind when wearing tops that don't completely cover back there.

I really enjoyed this video Alyssa! Jeans are so versatile. I do not have chicken legs so I had a hard time finding the perfect straight jean. Many brands sell straight jeans that are narrower at the bottom. I always buy jeans with only 2% elastane. This way, they keep their shape and last longer.

Great point! I also look for denim with only a touch of stretch as I like the structure too!

@@AlyssaBeltempo I also wanted to add that another thing I love about your channel is that there are not a ton of commercials throughout the video. I unsubscribed from a lot of channels because of that. Some RUclipsrs put videos of less than 15 minutes and they add a commercial every 2-3 minutes. This is so annoying.

@@frenchstyle7038 that's how they get paid though sometimes. I find that RUclips has been doing the forced commercials alot , like the ones you can't skip? Das annoying!

Excellent analysis of jean styles. I personally prefer wide leg, slim wide, or straight because I have thin legs. With wide leg jean's I can add some elegance to the outfit. I'm tired of skinny jeans and just don't like the flared leg look.
In another note, Alyssa looks way prettier with shorter hair and also keeping it a bit away from her face. She has a thin face so she does better keeping her hair at her new length. She also looks really good when she has her hair up.
