Denim that fits my thin thighs. Jeans often give the unfortunate effect of empty pouches on the thighs and saggy appearance where the thighs meet the butt
I’m a baby boomer who fell in love w/Levi’s 501 back when you had to soften them yourself. No lie…I had to buy them about 2 sizes too big, and sit in a bathtub full of hot water, and let the jeans shrink and mold to my shape. Then, I had to keep them on until they dried. The worst part was how blue the bath water turned. It was a chore to get them right, but when I pulled them on they felt like the were made just for me. I’ve never had a pair fit me like that since.
I'm starting to become a jeans collector too after realizing I have been wearing the wrong inseam and rise my whole life - shortie petite with a longer rise!. Amazing how stunning jeans are that fit!
Great video, Christina! I grew up in the 70s and Levi's 501s were what all the cool kids wore, but I had a JoLo body and there was no way Levi's or any other jeans were going to fit me. A couple years ago with the rise of the Ribcage jeans I was able to wear my first pair of Levi's that actually look like the ones everyone but me had in high school - and at 62 I feel like a cool kid! 👖
62yr old here also! I loved my 501’s but now have a different body shape. I’m still slim but the waist is a little bigger. I’m not a fan of the button fly at this age either. Maybe I should try again with the correct measurements.
1990's 501 jeans were the best jeans ever!!! I wore these exclusively for years until they changed the fabric and fit.Very happy to see 100% cotton jeans again. My rule is no more than 1-2% for elastane content. Anything higher I will not buy. I hate hate jeans with stretch. They look good for a few hours and then lose their shape. They don't hold your tummy in and wear out very fast. Getting back into denim again now that cotton is coming back and I can actually buy jeans again after many years of only being able to buy stretchy jeans. Right now, I am loving Mango jeans (99% cotton). They are the best fitting, most comfortable jeans I have bought in many years. Good price point at $69.99 CAD.
i love content like this coming from yoy because it comes from an intentional minimalism-ish perspective. i have been growing my wardrobe but i dont want to just buy whatever there is. please more content like this!!!
Christina!! Omg I think this is one of the most helpful videos you’ve ever made! You know so much about denim and this honestly feels like the ultimate guide - especially when it comes to shopping for denim online. Saving this one for future reference! ✅ ✅
I have the Wedgie and the Ribcage and I love them. I’m 5’3” normally 26” waist, size up in the wedgie for a more comfortable fit and size down if your ribcage pair had a poly blend. My ribcage is light wash and it’s literally my favorite pair ever, so comfy.
My favorite jeans are Levi’s selvedge denim! Something about cuffing them up and seeing that classic edge just makes me happy. My favorite cuts are the 501 and the 701. My recent additions are the 1970’s slim straight and the flare. And yes, sizing can be a pain. I always buy two sizes and return one.
I have quite a few Levi's from the 90s on up to my newest ribcage I bought this year. Its hard for me to pick a favorite though. Levi's are my obsession. They are so comfortable, and never go out of style. Thanks for sharing
I think the 501's are the best in your collection. You can't go wrong with a classic 501. I keep losing weight and buying 2 pairs of jeans each time I go down. I like Levi's high rise 724, think they're called. I also like classic boot cuts and straight leg with slight stretch. I'm not a fan of distressed jeans and I normally repair the holes with flannel patches. I also like men's 550's when I want full depth pockets and relaxed fit. I found some Lucky mid rise boot cut at Marshalls that are one of my favorites too. I've bought multiple 7 for all mankind boot cut and NYDJ Marilyn jeans and they are decent. TFS
Thank you for sharing. I'm 52 and have a 32" inseam, short waist and wear a size 3 Jr jeans. I haven't found good options for my age. Low rise are most comfortable with fitted in the waist and butt, relaxed in the legs and straight leg or boot cut.
Ah, another jeans lover! My favorites are definitely Levi's 501s, but I recently discovered Pull & Bear and Stradivarius from Asos, and they are super flattering as well.
hip measurements are really important too for vintage denim for those of us with wider hips and thighs...in fact that's become the most important measurement for me. It's ok if the waist is a little big, but if the hips are too tight, then you can't sit down. And a lot of vintage Levi's (esp 517s) run slim in the hip because they were originally made for men.
Girl, I'm 63 and still wearing my Levi's! I thrift for jeans, and even buy Levi's that are too large as I sew and take them apart and custom alter them. My favorite has always been 550 men's jeans because I have thick thighs.
As an hourglass, I struggle so much with jeans. I have taken the waist in on many, but it's not even worth the trouble since they're not my most worn items. However, I am always listening for curvy testimonials on jeans.
You should try Abercrombie & Fitch curve love jeans. I carry weight in my butt and thighs and I was surprised how much give the denim had even though it was 100% cotton.
Being pear-shaped, I understand where you are coming from. I haven’t worn jeans in years because either the cut is wrong or they are uncomfortable. I do however still enjoy watching videos such as this one.
I have huge hip bones and my butt is big but not super big so jeans without any stretch never work. They’re either 5 inches too small to button or they fit the waist but the froth has is baggy and it looks terrible. I just wear skirts or 1% stretch jeans (anymore looks bad on the butt and cheap) from Target because I can try on all the different rises. I wish I could buy second hand
@@Lily-uv9uu It’s hard! I exclusively thrift, so if I can't find it at my local thriftstore I go to ebay or poshmark, but I have ordered jeans that didn't work out!
Ikr - im also an hourglass and i just buy the size that fits my butt and then take them in. Or go for mom jeans, those weirdly fit my hips and waist most of the time
I didn't think this video would teach me anything but it did, you're a God send and I'm ready to turn my life of poor quality around. Women's modern fashion is too much for me; most jeans are baggy, skinny, or distressed, and I can never find a classy simple straight legged jeans that I like--that is to say I don't have a single good pair of jeans currently or ever. It's the first time I'm seeing and hearing about vintage denim, huzzah
Currently looking for comfortable yet flattering jeans (high wasted, straight leg). Staying away from the jegging jean look as I just don’t feel they fit my style anymore. This video has been extremely helpful and right on time as I have been struggling to find a nice comfortable pair of jeans. Thank you so much!! Big fan of your content this video has been especially helpful! Take care 😊
Before you even asked, I was going to say: OK I NEED a complete deep dive on the jeans collection. I feel like I’m finally in a place where I can be more intentional with my denim instead of just buying AE, and I’m a total denim lover. Love your style and trust your recco’s!!!!

I hate buying jeans. So hard to get a good fit. However invested in a pair of Agolde and it’s true…there’s the before time and after time. Love the feel of the denim. And the cost per wear just keeps going down.
Loved seeing this video since my body shape is similar to yours so it was great to see how the jeans fitted on you.👖 Every pair of jeans in this video was a good find!
Same ! Similar body shape here & I totally resonate with Christine's style !! I always loved blazers & jeans… except Christine actually knows what she's doing haha ! So I’m learning.
I stopped wearing jeans in 2011 and I've gotten rid of all my low-waist skinny Levi's. I decided to wear high-waist trousers because I find them lighter, chic and more comfortable. 14 years later, now in 2024, I'm back on wearing jeans again, especially Levi's, I believe the brand is the epitome of jeans and they're a classic. I always prefer the high-waist, boot-cut, wide-leg, and straight leg fits! ❤
I find the Levi's Ribcage flattering. I have 3 pair, one dark, one light and one gray. They are all different feeling although the tag says they are the same material. Odd, but I love them all. I'm 29/30 inseam but the Ribcage are 27 and it's so flattering and modern.
Super helpful video! I live in Germany so to my fellow Europeans I 'd like to recommend Monki jeans (not fairly produced, but you can easily find them second hand and they have super nice 90s fits) as well as armedangels jeans (fairly produced). xx
Hey!!

I can button the 26s but they're snug - fine when I walk, tight when I sit; 27s are more comfortable and fit now with slight room - but am concerned about them stretching too much. When I wash .... I use cold water and hang dry. How much will the 100% cotton stretch and what happens when I wash in cold/air dry. Keep the 26s or 27s?
@@Christinamychas weekday are swedish! they’re more commonly known in canada/the us under their cheap monday label, which was discontinued a few years ago.
For anyone reading this, I highly recommend brands like Naked and Famous (Through Tate and Yoko), Unbranded Brand, Warehouse, TCB, Full Count, Tanuk, Freenote Cloth, Bravestari etc... as alternatives to typical higher end denim brands. Haven't been let down yet. Not all of them offer cuts specifically for Women so you'll have to judge how a mens fit may work for you, but some definitely do Womens offerings such as Naked and Famous if you want to be safe. Some of these brands prices vary wildly by site, so it's worth hunting around to find a seller that can give you a good deal like Denimio/Hinoya who specialize in Japanese brands.
The issue with shopping for new jeans online is you don't have access to the measurements but usually just the brand size chart which usually comes with the qualification that "this is a guide only" etc. Buying used or vintage most sellers will provide the very useful measurements of the individual pair of jeans waist, hips, inside leg etc.
Amazing video! I find your denim fits you perfectly. Having a pear shaped body, very different from your athletic build, I wish I could find a creator with my body shape for tips on best denim!
Hi Kristina, what do you think will be the best type of jeans suits bedt for a 5"1 woman and kind of hour glass body type coz I'm not that curvy as well and not long legged..?
The everlane curvy cheeky may be great! I believe madewell and Abercrombie have curvy as well so you get a nice shape without having too much gap in the waist!
I gave up my cult classic 501s but somewhere regret it. I found the microseconds to be too low for my long torso. However I just discovered the wedgie and I LOVE it
i think you should look into TCB denim. they do reproduction of the vintage 501. not 100 percent sure if they do a women's denim though worth checking.
Salutări din România! Foarte utile informațiile😊 Ai putea te rog să faci un tutorialul cum îți împachetezi blugii și depozitarea lor în dulap. Și eu sunt de asemenea o mare colectionară de blugi, mai ales vintage😊
I could never wear 501’s. I think my legs were too chunky. I wore wranglers as a kid. And having horses, it meant I was always in jeans. My favorites for a while were Jag Foster Flare. And I still like them. But since discovering Agolde 90’s mid rise loose fit, that’s what I wear. The problem with buying jeans is that they vary so much pair to pair, even the same size and style. I think that most jeans are still cut in a pile.
Ahh I wish I had the body for these jeans. I’m built more like my dad. Bigger belly, no butt, no hips. So I tend to wear low rise straight leg jeans because they don’t cut into my stomach. I’ve always had the best luck with American Eagle because they’re usually cut straight through the hip which fits me best. They do carry curvy cuts for those who are. :)
I think jeans that are 100 percent cotton stretch and look saggy. I bit of stretch helps with figure. I have a huge collection of jeans and I’m very happy with my straight or flare styles. But hey do you boo

I love it when the thighs are big enough for me to pull the jeans ALLthe way up above my hips. Can’t stand it when the crotch of my jeans sags down!!
A flattering fit on the booty - high rise
High waisted bootcut. Dark wash. Levi’s

Yes to denim collection 👖☺️
Great video!!
Helpful, too, when searching for the best fit. 👖👖👖👖👖
Guess Escondido ! Fit me perfectly!
Hi Christina, just bought a pair of 501s that I couldn’t never afford first time round. How would you style them?
Whoa! The vintage Levi jeans from that website you mentioned cost as much as it more than new denim!
Great video and tips! I only have 2 pairs of jeans but I am definitely looking for some more. The everlane cheeky jeans look so cute!
Levi 550 are great for that body type imo!
Great tips! Thank you!
Great information, thanks.👖
great video 👍 and yes updated jean collection pleasssse
Hi Kristina, what do you think will be the best type of jeans suits bedt for a 5"1 woman and kind of hour glass body type coz I'm not that curvy as well and not long legged..?
The everlane curvy cheeky may be great! I believe madewell and Abercrombie have curvy as well so you get a nice shape without having too much gap in the waist!
Your vintage 501’s are my favourite :)
Me too 💙
I have to have a white pair too. Love!!
Great video! 😊
Jeans! We would like to see your jeans collection yes yes and yes!
I would love to see a denim collection! 👖
Salutări din România!
Foarte utile informațiile😊
Ai putea te rog să faci un tutorialul cum îți împachetezi blugii și depozitarea lor în dulap. Și eu sunt de asemenea o mare colectionară de blugi, mai ales vintage😊
This was a great video
I could never wear 501’s. I think my legs were too chunky. I wore wranglers as a kid. And having horses, it meant I was always in jeans.
My favorites for a while were Jag Foster Flare. And I still like them. But since discovering Agolde 90’s mid rise loose fit, that’s what I wear.
The problem with buying jeans is that they vary so much pair to pair, even the same size and style. I think that most jeans are still cut in a pile.
My favorite jeans have always been Levi's 👖
vintage levis are the best fitted denim ever made, for women or for men, in my case the mens 501
I love your videos! for us short curvy girls non of the vintage jeans look good so a little sad
Hahaha excellent "that's what she said" moment!
Hahah I walked right into it 😂
Great video!
This video is perfect timing for my search for a new pair of jeans 😁 my question is...what about new 501s? I was looking to try the Levi 501 skinny
I’m def a snob for vintage myself! Haha 😅
Yup, my new 501s just came in the mail and let's just say my search for the perfect pair of jeans continues 🤣
Do you have any tips for someone with IBS? Most jeans I try on become too loose everywhere else when if they fit my bloated tummy :(
I’d go with jeans with a touch of elastane in them - like 2-5%!
Girl, yes! 👖👖👖👖👖
I think jeans that are 100 percent cotton stretch and look saggy. I bit of stretch helps with figure. I have a huge collection of jeans and I’m very happy with my straight or flare styles. But hey do you boo
Great video, many greetings from Greece 🌴
try on some of the osaka 5 jeans and some repro jeans that has amazing fit
👖 Would love to also hear your thoughts on how to take care of the jeans on another video! Thanks!
Fun! Thank you for the idea!
I’m really surprised by the amount of useful information.
Thank you!
Thanks this was useful
