Shopping for jeans is the WORST. I always end up depressed at the end of the day 😂 but this information will help me feel better equipped to shop next time.
Finding the right rise is SO important--I can attest to this! When I was in my teens (early 2000s), low rise jeans were on trend (and practically the only style available in mass market stores), and that rise does me absolutely no favors, as I'm pear-shaped with a long torso and shorter legs. High rise jeans and pants (with a high enough rise, too--I prefer ~12" when I can find it) have been a god-send. They look so much more flattering, give me the proportions I like on myself, and--most importantly--make my pants WAY more comfortable since they sit properly on my body.
I am the opposite, short torso, so the current high rise popularity means 90 percent of the jeans out there make my torso look ridiculously short compared to my legs, and are also uncomfortable for me. If only rises were not a trend but readily available as sizes to fit all shapes..
I finally saw someone who looks good in low rise jeans! I assumed they were universally unflattering, but no! She has a straight, slim silhouette without a defined waist and the low rise looked great on her. But I think for a lot more people, high rise is more flattering.
Same here! I never knew the amazing-ness of high rise jeans until I was in my 30s when they came into fashion and I will NEVER go back to struggling with low or mid rises!!
I had always wanted to ask about your height and I'm shocked to hear that you're a petite 5'3" - that's a testament to your styling prowess. Please make a video on styling for petites. Thank you. 💜
This video definitely helped me become more educated in jeans. I know you’ve mentioned jeans in the past and when I go thrifting now, I pay attention to a lot of what you recommend but this is on a whole new level. Thank you so much Audrey, you inspire me daily 🙂

Audrey, you are such a sweetheart! You are classy, beautiful and elegant. Pleasure to watch! Thank you for sharing yourself with the world. The world needs more people like you.
Hi Audrey, First of all I would like to thank you for your wonderful videos that had a significant impact on my personal life. I am going through a weight loss process, and still have a long way to go to reach the healthy weight that suits me. Being overweight made me loose the interest for beautiful clothes, and in general for my image. When I go back to France for visiting my family, I always endure the embarrassing step of going to shops and never find nothing that fits me. That was untill I bumped into your channel, and by the energy, and your sincere passion for clothing, you made me love beautiful clothes again. That encouraged me to keep on loosing weight, and now I look forward to this spring for my next vacation in Paris and go remake all my wardrobe. Thanks again, and keep on making us dream. PS: I have been searching for the same type of blazer as the one you are wearing on minute 2:26 of this video. I don't have the right terminology to describe clothes. If I wanted to search on e-bay, how should I describe this type of blazer. Best regards.

Great tips! Quite a few tips are familiar to me and I have done since high school and college. I just don't remember you covered. My number one tip is to wash my jeans maybe 1 or 2 times a year and turn them inside out. I do this because of the fade factor and never dry as you suggested. MY ONLY EXCEPTION IS IF YOU BELIEVE THE DYE OF THE JEAN WILL TRANSFER TO OTHER CLOTHING AND FURNITURE IS PUT THE JEANS IN DRYER WITH A DAMP TOWEL ON THE DELICATE CYCLE FOR 15 -20 MINUTES.
Such great information, thank you! I'm looking for a new pair of black and will take some measurements first--I have so many that tend to be too long in the rise and that drives me crazy. I think my age (70) and changing body shape has something to do with this.
I always soak my new jeans in a mixture of white vinegar and water( 1/4 vinegar to 3/4 water) to “ set” the color and have rarely had problems with fading. Most people know this trick for red colored or black colored items ( I only do it to cotton garments), but it works great for Jeans too.
😭I have a red t-shirt that now has that "vintage washed" look that you can find in stores but that I hate and it was a beautiful red at first, will do this from now on. How long do you leave it in for?
Very informative. I'm 56 I am 5'4 and I am a size 8. I do have a hard time finding jeans that fit well. Thank you Audrey I will use this information to find a great fitting pair of jeans.
Audrey, at Last! Someone that concurs with my thoughts about NOT putting jeans into a tumbler dryer :-) This pleases me so very much. I totally agree that it makes Jeans last longer. In fact, I rarely put any of my clothes into the dryer. I hang them on an overhead 'pulley system' airer to let them dry. Thanks for the helpful information and good advice X
Perfect timing. Looking to buy a psir of forever jeans. The low rise skinny styles of the last few years have left me cold--i love the jeans of the late 70s, early 80s. If Jacklyn Smith or Brook Shields wore it, I will. Of course, I'm only 5'2"! The blue silk blouse, blazer combo was perfect.
