For those unfamilar - a TAS is a Tool Assisted Superplay/Speedrun. Playthroughs like this are created by a person recording and adjusting their inputs frame by frame in an emulator, and then playing those recorded inputs back in a video like the one you see here Silly Billy% TAS by Wafflewizard1 - ruclips.net/video/3pD8YzWXy1Q/видео.html
It's actually disconnecting the controller that lets you use Spyro in sub-areas meant for other characters, the game just pauses automatically when the controller disconnects because the devs knew it'd be frustrating to die because the controller disconnected at a bad time.
@@WaffleWizard Ah, okay, I wasn't aware of the frame-perfect pause method. I only knew the disconnected controller method because it was explained in a 117% speedrun I watched where they used it to get Spyro into the You're Doomed missions in Fireworks Factory so they could just charge through, rather than shooting the shit with Agent 9.
The pink texture corruption reveals the UI elements are done with polygons, the water stays blue I think because it’s vertex painted The skybox being culled at the end is almost certainly an unrealistic failsafe for when too much is on screen Another thing I noticed is the parallel universe in Cloud Spires isn’t solid and has no objects loaded, but the Fireworks Factory one is, I wonder if something was activated by the shots or something
The "parallel universes" never have collision or objects. The one with Agent 9 in Fireworks Factory was just getting a stupid amount of height and slowly falling back into the actual level.
11:00 Notice how the entire area is pink except for far away objects, until you get close to them? For example, as you get a bit closer to the green hills, they start fading to pink. It seems like the corrupt colour pallet only applies to close objects and leaves the level of detail map in tact.
that's how the PS1 spyro games did LOD, they have a static low poly background mesh that gets vertex painted, where each point on the mesh has a color and that gets blended along the triangles. and that gets blended with a normal textured mesh nearby. That way the PS1 spyro games could avoid the occlusion fog typical in that era. except when it's atmospheric like spyro1's misty bog which in the remake should have still had that fog instead of removing what made it *misty* bog. (yeah I'm salty)
@@ratchet1freak I understand the level of detail system fine, what's interesting is that the LoD mesh doesn't corrupt like the foreground does. Also yeah, imagine not having mist in a level with mist in the name lmao
Oh my god lol, way back in the early days of RUclips (like 2007/2008, man it's nuts to think that this game was still fairly _recent_ back then) there was a video that did exactly what this TAS ended on. They just flew around in the UFO shooting down sheep until there were dozens in the arena. I can't remember if it ended with a crash or not, who knows if the video even still exists out there... childhood memory unlocked by watching this TAS LOL
It’s because this is revision 0 of the game, which has a bunch of level songs in the wrong places and even a missing cutscene. You likely grew up with revision 1, also known as the Greatest Hits version, which restores the correct songs and that cutscene.

That is a very dangerous take with epilepsy, Speed Runs are not inherently dangerous to those with epilepsy it is specifically runs with heavy glitch abuse. A regular glitchless speed run often doesn't run a risk to a person the vast majority of the time. May Contain Peanuts is on foods that doesn't run a risk to a person the majority of the time. It is those few times that cause injury or death that matter. Ask yourself if it is worth risking human well being or lives because you couldn't type Epilepsy Warning or on a personal level is it worth risking your bank account? i'm guessing that colorful disc is the model of that rainbow effect you see when Bianca comes in
why kill the final boss when you can just kill the whole game

The next TAS better be called "Silly Goose"
