For those unfamilar - a TAS is a Tool Assisted Superplay/Speedrun. Playthroughs like this are created by a person recording and adjusting their inputs frame by frame in an emulator, and then playing those recorded inputs back in a video like the one you see here

@@MrAlinLupu the thieves have it. If you follow the thieves closely in the supercharge, they always get the red smoke

TAS runs are always fun to watch.
"Pixel perfect" and "subpixel perfect" don't mean anything for polygon-based 3D games. The concept of both is based on a pixel being a unit of distance, but the size and alignment of a pixel in a polygon-based game is based on the vertex locations, texture resolution, and the UV mapping. Now, a voxel-based game like Minecraft could have a concept of pixel perfect, because the pixels are the faces on a voxel grid that fills all of space (although not all pixels in Minecraft are part of this grid).

I don't know anything about Spyro speedrunning but your enthusiasm makes these videos a lot of fun to watch!
2:12 the really cool thing is, textures are drawn on the mountain as you reach it, it could just be a stock noise texture, but they seem to have put that in as if you’d actually get there
You can also see texture warping, as it was using minimal triangles
Love TASes like this, so happy to see one for Spyro.
My favourite bit was collecting all those gems on Tree Tops with orange/red supercharge, was losing my mind watching that lmao, incredible stuff.

I never knew red supercharge was possible. My whole life I thought orange was maximum. 25 years and I'm still learning new things about this game.

This makes me wanna see a 120% TAS where the game is hacked to always have supercharge and flight enabled in all levels

7:02 The reason this happens is because of a VRAM corruption; the game ALMOST crashes due to loading a crapton of stuff, but it doesn't anyway due to, I believe, then unloading immediately, which results in the graphics being absolutely annihilated, but the game is otherwise perfectly fine.

ReddevilDazzy and Gag73 did that magic crafters proxy back in 2006. I had a video of it in 2007 but my account was suspended. Never thought shit would escalate to this degree

In 120% you need to collect the gems along the path and for other categories like any% or Vortex Gnasty moves faster the closer you are too him during the "race" so it's optimal to be right in front of him.
Cheating may not be okay in speed runs, but it sure looks like fun to break the hek out of games like this 😂
