Does anyone else feel like their brain is melting watching how fucking insane this run is?
This whole TAS was basically just me saying "surely it cannot get any more insane" then the TAS proceeding to get more insane...
You clearly never watched TAS then. They always do that compared to speedrunners.

Blizzard Bluff is some chad shit holy fuck, EDIT: watched the whole thing, everything is just so fucking GOAT'd such a good TAS
SGs on the track edges remind me of shiftboosting in F-Zero games.
In short, if you leave the track for a minuscule amount of time(in certain sections of some maps you have to be frame-perfect), the game gives you speed boost.
One of hardest, if not THE hardest trick in the series for humans to perform.

I wanna see Nyxx and a group of other people create a full-on TAS of at least 101% on CTR after watching this.
i swear, THIS is what i meant with the comment on the polar video! i go back to watch the old video about the CTR TAS, and then 4 days later this happens. i'm in creative mode at this point.

@@theoctopus5308 Speed ghost, basically everytime you see him spam hopping that's because he got an "SG" off of a downhill and hopping preserves that speed.
In the case of Coco he also managed to get an SG off of her.
There sure are some intense tricks available to you when doing a TAS for this game. 😲
I love how the most commonly glitched track (N Gin Labs), is the hardest to break further for TAS

I thought that the language bug occurred because they forgot to set a default language if they didn't choose a language for some reason (and this reason turned out to be another error, which was forgetting to block the exit button in the language panel). Anyway, due to the lack of language, the game doesn't know what to do in relation to displaying specific texts and sound files, especially because the Japanese language needed to be done exclusively in its version (according to my PS1 crash modifications, the Japanese letters are different in amount and style of writing, such as katakana and hiragana, in addition to the extra signs of the language).
Well that's what I think, I'm not 100% sure.

The good thing is tas show that improvement is still possible maybe some of it will be implemented into real runs.
Hope Nyxx does a 101% TAS. Now that will no doubt be insane to watch.

It is weird to me how Penta gets aku in this whereas in my copy, Penta gets uka. Why is that?
He was slightly bugged in the original NTSC-U (American) release, getting the Aku Aku powerup icon but using Uka Uka. He also had beginner stats and some placeholder dialogue. In all other regions, he uses Aku Aku and has the maximum possible stats, which is why he's used for time trial records and such. The remake makes him a speed character with a 50-50 chance of using either Aku Aku or Uka Uka.
