- The stores, the shops, the bars and the restaurants have closed around Oracle Park due to street conditions ,even with big crowds of baseball fans 42,000 at every game , still not enough to make opening a business, a good idea in this part of the city
With opening date approaching fast on April 5, 2024 San Francisco Giants fans are not going to have a place to pregame not even a place to eat. Sounds like the only option would be getting a sandwich from the Safeway A block away from the stadium
Oracle Park is a baseball stadium in the SoMa district of San Francisco, California. Since 2000, it has served as the ballpark of Major League Baseball's San Francisco Giants. Previously named Pacific Bell Park, SBC Park, and AT&T Park, the stadium's current name was purchased by the Oracle Corporation in 2019

I used to go to Giants games. Not anymore. Tickets are very expensive thanks to "dynamic pricing" so Dodgers vs Giants and games I want to see get jacked up. I drove once and got a parking ticket even though I parked a ways away and other cars on the street were covered in leaves and dust. I took the train once and the bums had tents all over. My out of town visitors were grossed out. I liked the new stadium but right after the game ended the ushers told me to leave when I just wanted to enjoy the place. Screw San Francisco. They are super accommodating to bums, drug addicts, and criminals and treat hard working businesses and patrons and tourists badly.
They know their voter base.

@@mts982 You don't have any idea what you're talking about. Obviously you aren't from the area. Back in the day there would be non stop events, concerts, holiday festivals, and much more. Also there were tons of businesses that employed people that would shop before, and after work and eat lunch. Now all the businesses moved out of the state because of the high taxes and leasing costs. You sound like a typical liberal, in denial.
Are they still wanting their drugged up ghost town of their once thriving, beautiful tourist town city now?? 👎🏻🤮?
So sad to see a city I loved years ago fall so hard.
It seems that every interview with residents of San Francisco from the MSM say that things in the city are fine. They admit crime and vacancies are "on the rise" but it isn't anything to be concerned about. Are they delusional or incredible LIARS? Thanks for your work in getting the truth out. Stay safe.
When it comes to Wokeness, SF is all in. Too late to regret. Not that they would, obviously.
The residential neighborhoods are said to be mostly ok. Theft and break-ins have definitely increased to serious levels and spilled over into the neighborhoods. Violent crime is still low. The local economy doesn’t seem terrible, but it’s not booming like in the 2010s. Bad laws and burdensome taxes continue to harm people, but that’s just California at this point.
The MSM cuts and pastes those "interviews". They cherry-pick the people then coach them on responses so certain phrases are used and/or avoided. If someone answers too truthfully that clip isn't used. As a native I can guaruntee you that people here as a whole don't think it's "fine" ESPECIALLY not business owners and lifelong natives who have seen how far the deterioration has gone.

I warn my out-of-state visitors not to go to SF, especially if their vehicle doesn’t have CA plates. My last visitor wanted to go to fisherman’s wharf but I told them they had a good chance of their car getting a smash-and-grab, even if nothing is in their car, just because tourists are a prime target. They went to Monterey instead, thank goodness. At some point this has got to start hurting the SF economy. Only when the elitists get hit in the pocketbook will anything be done.

One of the biggest selling points for tax dollars towards the park's construction was that it would revitalize that area of the City. Guess it worked for a minute.
It worked QUITE well, when the team was winning, during baseball season, before the pandemic....etc.

No. This is what happens when criminal activity is not stopped.
This wasn't something that happened overnight. It began roughly 20 years ago when San Francisco started catering to the tech companies with tax breaks under Mayor Ed Lee. When they left or their workers went remote, the city and the businesses left behind, had to pick up the pieces. SF had all their eggs in one basket. Also, these tech companies were playing the real estate game too. They would buy an entire building or build an entire building and sublease like half of it.
Time magazine has a good article online that describes the "Twitter tax break of 2012". This is what started San Francisco down this path. Hopefully Mayor Breed learns from this.
Thank you for posting this...the truth.
