Through your videos we have seen Market Street, Mission Street, the Richmond district [I sold newspapers outside the Alexandria Theater on 18th and Geary], Union Square, and now the South of Market and the Giants' stadium looking like ghost towns. Other areas that you might consider filming include North Beach, Fisherman's Wharf, Fillmore Street between, say, Hayes and Jackson, and Union Street between Octavia and Divisadero. These areas have had numerous shops, restaurants, and other small businesses for many years. I hate to think of how they are faring now. Thank you for what you are doing to expose that calamity.

Has anyone noticed that this ballpark has never had its own name? It has never had anything but some irksome corporate moniker. When are we going to get back to locals naming their own landmarks. Or, is this merely the corporatocracy showing us peons, that they own/control everything?
It’s called revenue for the teams. I don’t like it either, but it’s a sad reality, teams aren’t going to turn down millions of dollars because of local sentiment.
I'm not a peon, quit acting like a victim. Who cares if teams sell the rights to the naming, if some dumb tech company , or large communication giant wants to slap their name to it? Pac Bell, A,T & T , Oracle, blah blah who cares?
The ballpark will eventually close because ancillary business`s can`t survive without a supporting anchor ! I used to work around there in the late 90's and it was busy around there. I remembered the Jerk Chicken place, Primo Patio Cafe. Starbucks and Wells Fargo Bank are closed on 4th and Brannan. Wonderful workers who remembered your name when getting coffee in the morning.
I was born and grew up in SF and the Bay Area. I moved to Honolulu. I went to SF for thanksgiving and stayed at the Hyatt Regency. Leo was right. All the stores in Embarcadero Center were closed. When I came back for New Year’s, I stayed at the Hilton on the water in Burlingame. It was beautiful. So I will be staying there from now on. So sad SF went downhill.
There is a street in China which recently had tons of foot traffic and it was impossible to rent a store. After the economy went bad it looks like this area. It’s a terrible sign about both local economies.
There's a worldwide conspiracy by government lackies serving the desires of those who keep governors, mayors, corporations and others on a tight leash . They have the enforcement mechanism in place to take what you have and give it to those whom they want to have it. You get the message?
I use to live at 3rd and Perry and shop at the Safeway (2005-2010). On the same strip was a Starbuck and I'd take my coffee to that little plaza area for coffee and a smoke. Never went to a game. But I walked for exercise to the park around and back down the bay to Pier 39 and take a bus back home. The studio apt.s at 3rd and Perry were $830.00 a month. Last I checked they were over $1200.00 a month and for what? I actually waved to incoming traffic over my morning coffee, my window was just a floor or two higher than the expressway.
There was a time when those stores/restaurants were packed with customers. We live an hour from SF and used to visit regularly but not anymore, well done SF ! It's as if SF is trying to compete with Oakland for the worst city in CA.
Leo, thank God for people like you who are showing and not just telling--video evidence of the devastation of woke politics. Now, you ask the question where would I go before or after the game? My sofa, in my house. Before, during, and after. And not in SF.
This wasn't something that happened overnight. It began roughly 20 years ago when San Francisco started catering to the tech companies with tax breaks under Mayor Ed Lee. When they left or their workers went remote, the city and the businesses left behind, had to pick up the pieces. SF had all their eggs in one basket. Also, these tech companies were playing the real estate game too. They would buy an entire building or build an entire building and sublease like half of it. Time magazine has a good article online that describes the "Twitter tax break of 2012". This is what started San Francisco down this path. Hopefully Mayor Breed learns from this.
you forgot to mention that stores closed down and residents in the Bay Area moved out because of high rise in crime, drugs, homeless. who would go to the city if you don't feel safe at all?

Josh is Exhibit A.
Is it really as bad as it appears in the video in SF? Some critics say Leo’s videos are “cut and spliced “. ?
That can't Be...
Detroit is recovering and growing
"Everything is online" ?? If you mean shopping, online shopping is available countrywide, yet some red states are doing quite well. So it is not all due to online shopping. The smart people are leaving CAL while they still can sell their assets and get out.
Leo……….I can explain in Two Words: DEMORATS POLICIES. Get it!!!
Gavin appointed the board members of the CPUC, that's why power bills keep going up.
Sounds to me like FOX NEWS PROPAGANDA RHETORIC, AND the same old Rhetoric at that. Notice Repugnantcans never talk about their Policies, all they do is screw up everything then Blame the Democratic Party. Like NAFTA and the KORUS ACT, and the LINE-ITEM-VETO, forcing President Clinton to sign over the Telecommunications Act to the GOP then they fired thousands of DJ’s and Radio Stations giving us Limbaugh, Beck, and Innsanity-Hannity and Latrine mouth Mark Levine 24/7…Plus a bunch of Fox News Parakeets. City council: I know nothing, I see nothing!
Sitting behind home plate at the 1986 Giants home opener, tickets cost $9 each. Will Clark’s first game as a Giant! Lower infield seats now are $479 each plus fees. My last visit in 2004 cost over $1,200. 1 ticket, hot dog, beverage, souvenir and parking.
I had 49er season tix when they were $85 for the whole season. You read that right. I went to every Gs home opener from 1978-2001.
💔💔💔Oh my gosh! So shocking; it was once a vibrant great city! Thank you Leo for always updating the situation in San Francisco, it is important!🙏🙏
@RiannaRichardsFilms specially this area I wasn’t expecting it, but there were a lot of comments about it so I had to go see it and record it

I was a bike messenger in San Francisco for 6 years back in the early 2000s. So I know every little nook and cranny of that place. Seeing it now is quite a slap and a reality check to what's happened.
Anti-social behavior has taken over SanFran. All the vandalism and graffiti.
Just brings down the morale of the environment.
The people doing the vandalism hate themselves and their lives and want everyone else to be miserable.
san francisco house prices have risen the most dramatically in the last few months.
Don’t y’all know? It’s Far more important that men have the right to compete in women’s sports than to clean up crime, drugs and homelessness.
It’s amazing how much humanity has regressed in 20 years. That was quick….
Libs focus on things that don’t really matter
I grew up in San Francisco and always loved the city as a child. I live on the East Coast now but it breaks my heart to see what has happened and is happening to my native city.
Where do people go and work now??? Unbelievable!!!! 🙏

Maybe of of the many fortune 500 tech, medical or financial companies that have hqs in the city or on the penninsula. Idk, just spitballing here.
Crime is completely acceptable in San Francisco ... that's sad.
You need to clear $10000 per month just to afford the city, unless your on rent control. That tech community doesn't have any soul.
The tech community doesn’t have any jobs, either!
commerical property rents are out of control too. One of those abandoned storefronts was a speciality pizza restaurant. After covid and rising interest rates how are they supposed to stay in business?

They are definitely NOT college students or computer programmers out for a Sunday stroll. They are strolling for victims.
This was my absolute favorite city in the world once upon a time. We stayed with my wife's aunt in Sausalito for our honeymoon in '88. I went here every chance I got for business trips. For several years now you could not pay me enough to go back - such a tragedy.
I can explain. Out of control larceny plus lack of law enforcement.
The law does enforce IT.
Short answer: Retailers are not going to risk doing business somewhere where the city police will not enforce punishment for shoplifters
"Closed now!" And that sinister laugh gets me every time.... Thanks for the reports
Always!
Leo you should print a shirt that says, "closed, for rent sign..good luck with that."
You can add the insane rates of PG&E to the equation now too.
Along with the extremely high cost of the rent to lease these places.
No law and order equals no quality of life for anyone.
On the other side of the China basin is booming with businesses and stores.
And the food trucks.
But everything following the Train tracks suffer.
The homeless get subsidized transit cards and just go wherever the train or busses will take them.
The team and city don’t want people to hangout before or after games. There’s even the brewery 2 blocks away that closes at 10pm even after games.
Nobody cares, not even people from SF. Good Luck!
Who are they trying to lease it to? Who do they think is gonna lease those massive stores🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
That is soul crushing, I haven't been to the Bay area park in years, it used to be a beacon of what made San Francisco great. Not anymore.
The Giants cant sign top free agents. Unless they are in first place the fans wont go. The businesses figured it out, too and bailed...metalLEO is a truth teller
that's a hot take there my friend
The effects of a woke democratic governor..how that Newsome is working out. California still has no clue why.
As a bay area native and local, I depise working in the city as a sign hanger...I avoid it at all cost now for the last few years. Been in the business for 25 years now. It used to be fun putting up iconic signs in the city..not no more.
Thank you, for presenting this video showing the reality of the situation in San Francisco❤
Of course!!
We live about 25 miles to the east of that craphole. Just like Oakland, we are not parking and "participating" anywhere in those enclaves. Even in transit through such dung, be prepared to defend yourselves if necessary. You are on your own. Gavin Newsom approves my message.
lmao Imagining somebody from nowhere, bumsville Dublin calling SF a craphole 🤣🤣🤣Stay out east little guy, we don't want you here and sounds like your wallet is too small.
😂❤😂😂✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿
I plan to open a store next to the park that sells signs that say ..."FOR LEEEAAAAAASE"!

Landlords will not drop the rents because that would devalue their assets.
The signs that say 'UniteSF' and 'We Love San Francisco', completely, pathetically contrasting reality.
Gay utopia..the new sodom
Just like NYC! Every city is getting like this! Its sad
It’s all by design and done with a purpose.
Every city north of a certain latitude and run by Dems.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the 10 highest crime cities are all in the South. Except for Stockton. Try Google and educate yourself.
Has anyone noticed that this ballpark has never had its own name? It has never had anything but some irksome corporate moniker. When are we going to get back to locals naming their own landmarks. Or, is this merely the corporatocracy showing us peons, that they own/control everything?
It went from Pacific bell Park to SBC park to AT&T Park, then oracle purchased the name Oracle Park 💰💲
It’s called revenue for the teams. I don’t like it either, but it’s a sad reality, teams aren’t going to turn down millions of dollars because of local sentiment.
All other stadiums are doing the same so it’s nothing new. Free money is free money.
@@pytube777take a trip to Zimbabwe. Plenty of free money there.
I'm not a peon, quit acting like a victim. Who cares if teams sell the rights to the naming, if some dumb tech company , or large communication giant wants to slap their name to it? Pac Bell, A,T & T , Oracle, blah blah who cares?
Keep showing the real San Francisco

Thanks for the current update Leo so sad to see a once vibrant area of SF die and decay. It breaks the hearts of real home grown Californiano's
You are right everything in San Francisco is closing but not the ballpark 🤣😂🤣✌🏿
They did change the name from At&t park to Oracle.
They probably went bankrupt with out anyone knowing.
The ballpark will eventually close because ancillary business`s can`t survive without a supporting anchor !
Conversely, the anchor can`t survive without ancillary business`s being part of the entertainment.
Thus, economically, they are dependant on each other for revenue generation !
I`m 69 and have been envolved in retail demographic`s for decades...
You have a good play by play voice. Maybe the Giants will hire you.
Oh yeah, "second baseman, sucks, Pitching, some guy who belongs in the minors, Giants fans I'll be surprised if they win a game, theres only 35, 000 fans here tonight folks, maybe the team will move to Vegas, another strikeout!
Thanks for sharing. I agree staying in Burlingame is a better choice.
Burlingame is great, clean and nice, lots of good stores and restaurants. Its the same distance as SF for me, I don't even go to the City any more.

Thanks for sharing. I think the studios must be even higher by now maybe $3000 a month, The Starbucks next to Safeway closed about two months ago
I’ve eaten at that Panera bread, was always crowded. This was 2014-15.

There was a time when those stores/restaurants were packed with customers. We live an hour from SF and used to visit regularly but not anymore, well done SF ! It's as if SF is trying to compete with Oakland for the worst city in CA.
Always "HARDCORE TRUTH" 👍
Always!
Thank you for posting this...the truth.
I agree. This disaster was caused by Ed Lee's catering to tech companies to the point that without them, the city has imploded.
Wouldnt be a problem if they never left. Why did they leave
I agree, good post, but it started long before that. Very long. Like about a hundred years...
It's the slow-boiling frog scenario...
you forgot to mention that stores closed down and residents in the Bay Area moved out because of high rise in crime, drugs, homeless. who would go to the city if you don't feel safe at all?
I enjoyed my visits in the past. 2011 was the last one. You'd have to drag me there kicking and screaming now.
