The A's coliseum reminds me a lot of the 49er's old stadium Candlestick Park. It was outdated, had the bathroom troughs, parking was abysmal, but there was an unspeakable charm to it all. There was an energy to the park that carried over from it's storied history, like you knew great teams and moments happened in that same stadium, much like the A's of old. The image I have of Oakland's stadium in my head is from Vernon Wells, then the center fielder for the Blue Jays, when he said that he was getting heckled by someone in the stands, and he turned around to say something, and as he started to speak, some other fan charged the heckler, who TOSSED THE DUDE DOWN A FLIGHT OF STAIRS. Needless to say, Vernon turned around and just minded his own business for the rest of the game.

i went in the summer of 1999 to an informational gathering of 3 MLB Umpires, held in Baltimore, which they gave before umping the bases later that day at Oriole Park (good P.R. move, since they just had abandoned a Mass Resignation plan that they tried, at the tail-end of their multi-year contract). At that gathering, another attendee asked the three base umps about which MLB stadium city had the fans who were most-vicious towards MLB Umpires..This group of Tim Tschida, Al Clark & Larry Young answered: "Oakland".
I'm a Giants fan & I love the A's stadium. The games were always cheaper than Candlestick when I was a kid. Oakland A's fan here from Sacramento. My daughter and I were in DC for a vacation in May 2024. We wanted to attend a Nationals' game but they were out of town. Not to worry, Baltimore was home and we watched them take on the Red Sox. We both enjoyed Camden Yards. The fans who sat around us were friendly. The food was good and served efficiently. The ticket prices were reasonable and the stadium parking was, too. Overall, a positive experience.
I was at that A’s game all the way up at their dugout and as a lifelong Giants fan, that energy in the crowd even though they are not all that and getting stood up by owners was so damn fun that I started cheering and yelling when Kevin started going off. One of the most fun games I’ve been to and I went to Matt Cain’s perfect game
I wish you had an opportunity to go to a Giants game before about 2017. The atmosphere of a Giants game, whether it was in the midst of their dynasty, or during Barry Bonds’ home run chase, I can’t begin to describe how awesome it was.
As someone who is a Giants fan first and A’s fan second, I have been going to both stadiums since 2001 and love them both for different reasons. It’s always been nice being able to go to two totally different experiences just a few miles from each other. Great video!
Saw my first A's game there on June 16, 1968 vs. the Orioles with Brooks and Frank Robinson (Double header). The A's won both that day. Hasn't changed much at all. Sad to see them go. Thanks for the video, Adam.
Adam! Great meeting you at the game and thanks for throwing me into the final cut! Yes on the NYG hat or you. Just sent your video to my party of 18 who attended both games that day - will be very cool to look back on the historic day through your lens.
Years ago, I visited family in the Bay Area and went to see an A's game...only a few thousand in the crowd. I remember the lady in front of me put her bag on a seat and it broke. The seat just gave up and said "I'm done!" Good thing she didn't sit on it. The staff were super friendly, as if they were happy ANYBODY was attending, but the stadium, and surrounding area, are pretty gross.
Glad to hear it! I did one a few weeks ago that was more specifically looking at Oracle Park. My top recommendation would be make the journey all the way to the very top of the 3rd deck. It's a hike, but the views just keep getting better the higher up you go.

Adam, your video has inspired me to book a flight out to the bay in September. It might not be for the final game, but one must pay final goodbye to the Oakland colosseum. Go Giants and Go A's.
@@AdamDoesNotExist The best fan experience is where the true fans are. It doesn't matter the building. Ahhh, I did the Bay Area doubleheader back in 2010 with a group of ~25 or so. I organized the Giants group ticket purchase, so when they made the playoffs, I got priority access to the postseason tickets. Got 4 seats for all of the home games and passed them around to friends. It was a good year for that.
Hi Adam! Even if you're a Yankees fan and I was actually a Red Sox fan from the Philippines I had to admit you have some cool videos which i like and can't deny that I subscribed.
Another Adam Awesome Adventure video! I almost decided to get tickets for the Giants game on 8/21. Had I have actually gone then we very well would have crossed paths again, but I unfortunately chose not to go. I just have a feeling that at some point in the future we will cross again😀👍💯
As a Padres fan that now lives in the bay & goes to an occasional game at Oracle I totally agree about Giants fans. There’s a lot of them & they show up, but they have weird rules like not standing & yelling at kids who start a wave to “STOP & PAY ATTENTION TO THE GAME” that make the atmosphere feel a little stuffy. Some of my favorite memories as a kid were ridiculously long waves that did multiple laps around Petco with what seemed like the entire stadium participating, or everyone standing and cheering when we heard those bells start ringing in the 9th. No fun allowed @ Oracle
As a Sacramentian, I'm pretty stoked to see the A's come over and (hopefully) help revitalize a lot of the downtown area that Sutter park is near! It'll be fun to see some games close by (Padres are my main, but I watched a good chunk of A's games with some buddies), but I am pretty sad to see a cool part of Bay Area culture be taken away
@@AdamDoesNotExist Nope. Can't support the A's in Sacramento until Fisher is out of the picture. I also can't deny young families attending and those casual baseball fans who don't understand what's actually happening with this move. But, I have to "protest."
I’m an A’s fan who lives in Sacramento now, and I don’t agree. Our city and our downtown are actually doing better relative to Oakland, and the sports developer types should have been focused on getting Republic FC upgraded to MLS. But the A’s will not be good again or good for their host city until John Fisher is out as owner.
When I used to go to the A's game as a kid with the family in the early to mid 1970s the Coliseum was only 5-10 years old and it was really nice. What a shame that it is not what it once was.
My goal is to travel to every MLB stadium since they all are very different. I timed my SFO and Oakland visit where there were games 1 day after each other. I did Oracle Park first and took a guided tour. It really is a beautiful stadium that overlooks the bay. The unique food item as you pointed out was the crab sandwich....but I didn't like it, that's more personal preference. I did have a bad experience where the line for Irish coffee was so long and the cashier was so slow that it took 3 innings for me and then they were cutting off the alcohol line just as I got to the front...and of course they were out of coffee, but then there was a really nice firework show. I'd definitely go again. As for O. Co., the ride out there isn't that bad on the connector. I liked the stadium in the sense that it's the last of the generation of "dumpy stadiums" of the past. I forget what I ate at this one. That club area was really nice and I took a pic with one of the elephants up there. I sat in the empty upper deck for a bit and thought that the sightlines must have been great for football when the Raiders played there. It is a relic, in every sense of the word.
#AthelticSupporter right here! I was there in early June, saw the Athletics vs the Blue Jays...being from Canada, I still went for the A's (Toronto, ugh). The whole point of the trip was to see the Coliseum before it's shuttered but I really wished we could've seen a game vs the Giants at Oracle Park that same weekend....next time. As for the Coliseum...it's a big concrete monstrosity that now blocks out the view of the mountains, but when you're sitting in the stands watching the game, it was still a fun time. I'm most familiar with T-Mobile Park in Seattle (which honestly is a great stadium too) but I can easily agree that Oracle Park definitely is on the very top of my list of parks to visit...besides Wrigley and Fenway for a game, which are clearly in a "different ballpark" altogether.
I just got back to the East coast from visiting the coliseum and oracle. I found the coliseum to have a nice charm and something about that made me really like it. Oracle was incredible, absolutely incredible but IMO I’d still put Camden Yards above it with Oracle being 2 on my list.
You make some great videos. Fun to watch and fair. Its a shame this team is leaving but the problems go much further back and much deeper than "the current ownership" of the team. Let's face it, the Giants tried to leave as well and almost did. And they screwed over the A's in previous planned moves to the area. My point, there are many villains to the story.
Glad you liked it! I agree, no one looks good in this whole A's move, and there are a bunch of people who aren't part of the story now who share the blame.
my dad was from Philly so I’ve always been a Phillies fan which means I’ve always been an A’s fan. But Oracle is the truth. Much better views than Citizens Bank. Good stuff
Caring and resourceful ownership verse Uncaring and dimwitted ownership - the Oakland Coliseum was electric under the Haas family ownership . . it's disgraceful under current A's ownership.
Back in 2008, I was stationed in Fort Drum, NY. Took a weekend trip in June to Queens for a game at Shea. Unfortunately it got rained out, but it was still cool to be in a stadium where a lot of history happened. Beatles concert, 1969 Miracle Mets, Namath’s best years, 1986 Buckner play, first post 9-11-2001 sporting event, etc. This coming from an Atlanta Braves fan. I’m glad that the Mets biggest star, Mike Piazza, won it for them on 9-21-01. Back to the subject at hand, I hate it for the A’s fans. They were plenty loyal and weren’t the issue. John Fisher and his tightwad ways were the problem. Needs to spend money to make more money
Cool you made it to 2 stadiums! I lived in Denver and went to Coors many times including some 2007 games of the team who made it to the World Series. Best stadium in subjective,Fenway and Wrigley have all that history,Dodger Stadium hasn't changed much, you're talking about most players ever played there.Safeco in Seattle rates high!
I flew down and got to go to game 1 of the final series at the Coliseum, against the Rangers. The A’s walked them off and it was an incredible experience overall. I’m a sucker for the old, janky ballparks. Epic, memorable and sad because those fans were the faithful and the ownership maliciously let them down.
I imagine you grew up as a kid going to the Coliseum and rooting for the A's and if you did I totally understand your attachment. I grew up rooting for the Orioles and spending my summers at Memorial Stadium, the largest outdoor insane asylum. I have grown to love and appreciate Camden Yards over the years but in its infancy I referred to it as Oriole Park at Crammed IN Yards. The location felt forced onto a postage stamp in downtown Baltimore and when you went to a game you had to search for parking in garages. At Memorial you parked in and around the outside neighborhood on a local Church lot who was able to use their lot as a fundraiser and the parking was way cheaper. Then you walked up sidewalks through neighborhoods saying hello to people on the street and on their porches along the way. The final years at Memorial we could decide to go to the game 90 minutes before first pitch and have no problem walking up to the ticket booth and into the stadium. The first several years at Camden Yards you had to plan your game day experience weeks or months in advance because it was the place to be and corporate seats were everywhere.
I got a NY Giants hat in honor of my grandfather who died a few years ago. He grew up in the Bronx but was a giants fan. I say get it, it’s a cool looking cap. Signed a Mets fan.
Not to mention you can literally watch three innings of a Giants game FOR FREE behind the backfield fence just feet from the right fielder. On the water. But you missed the drum section at the Coliseum. That was fire.
I'm actually curious to find out if you've actually been to ALL MLB stadiums to come up with the notion that San Francisco's is the "best". I've been to Oracle Park; among others. It's a very nice park, but it's not the BEST one that I've ever been to. The water from the Bay doesn't make it so much better than other parks that deserve to be ranked so high. California fans in general are very laid back. Come to Yankee Stadium or Citi field if you want to get a sense of realistic fan intensity from the beginning of a game to the end.
Adam, dude, I'm short - so when people stand up in front of me, EVEN if I STAND, I can't see anything. This drives me nuts! Signed, former Giants (twice) and A's season ticket holder.
Ah yeah that's tough. Standing all game is a lot, but with two strikes and two outs... I just have to do it either out of superstition or respect for the pitcher.
Stressful honestly. You could chalk it up to bay area prices, or the actually good quality, but it sure does make it tough for most people to make it out to a game.
Been to both as a lifelong Giants Fan, A's always had a soft spot in my heart and I can attests to the crowd/atmosphere in Oakland being miles better than the changing demographics at Oracle Park (AKA Pac Bell aka SBC aka AT&T park). It's a true shame what MLB and ownership has done to Oakland's loyal fans.
Listing Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Seattle, San Diego, and LA as the best ballparks in the country (along with Wrigley and Fenway in their own category) adds a ton of legitimacy to this video. I've been to 31 parks and while I may not have San Francisco as my #1, that park along with the others he listed are in my top 10. Busch and Coors round out my top 10.
My coworker lives in the SF area, and his biggest complaint about Giants stadium is the fans. Because of pricing and season tickets, a lot of the tickets are bought out by rich people and tech bros. Lots of people are there for business reasons, not baseball. You tend to only get reasonable ticket prices from resales when either the team is bad or the weather isn't looking great.
Adam, we are in the same boat here, well, would be cool if we were in the same boat having a beer in McCovey Cove, but my point is, we both root for the Giants and the A's. There is a perfect term, you are a Yankees FAN, and at the same time, you can be a "Fan of" the A's and Giants. See what I did there?? I had this debate years ago on my local ESPN sports talk show that created quite a buzz (from all 20 of my listeners 🤣). I am an A's fan, but, until we know what happens to them, I am currently a "FAN of" the Giants. And the NY Giants hat is absolutely the go-to lid!
Oh I like that! I sure do see what you did there. Very cool that you were on an ESPN talk show. I'm jealous! And it seems like pretty unanimous approval on the hat. Guess I'm going for it.
It would be like comparing Alfred Hitchcock to Chris Nolan or Aretha Franklin to Beyonce. Same category, all incredible, but its just not quite apples to apples.
Thank you! I think I'm sort of centering on a few topics that are both really fun to make videos about, and people like us want to watch. And the Bay Area is absolutely one of them.
Coliseum is what it is in your video. Too bad the Treehouse looked closed on your day but it is open. Definitely more alive on the weekends. It's probably my bias option but the one thing the fans and the Coliseum does best in all of baseball is tailgating
Went to both of those games too. Giants fan who stands, has traveled 20k miles this year to watch this .500 team in 10 stadiums this season, and I don’t give a shit what hat you wear. Nice editing though
I love Oracle Park, and I’m a Giants fan, but I’m very sad about the A’s leaving us and The Coliseum. Despite rivalry we’re brothers. FJF sell the team
Very enjoyable video. The Giants are my team but I'm also a fan of the A's. I'm deeply saddened the A's are leaving. Those running the city of Oakland are complete incompetents. From three great professional sport franchises to now none. Need I say more ?
I've got a "Battle of the Bay" hat I purchased in 1989 BEFORE you know what happened during the battle. What's the offer? J/K - it's a very important souvenir for me. I've also got a PacBell Park T-shirt. I should wear them together (but somebody might steal the hat).
PNC Park in Pitsburgh is considered the best Baseball Stadium and I say this as an Orioles fan with Camden Yards.Oracle Park is for sure a Top 3 Ballpark though.
If not this season, absolutely next season. I just found out parking in Hayward is free which I don't think exists at any other sporting event on earth!
@@AdamDoesNotExist if your there I highly recommend sitting in the supporters section, 5/6 of the seating setups are all General Admission including the supporters group so if you want to get the best vibe you can get it for the same price as a ticket at the very top of the stadium. And if not this year than you know where to find it next year
@@datwee7576 Thanks for the tip! Is that the "Deep Roots" section on the chart? And yeah I don't know how you true fans feel about the move to the Coliseum, but I think it's pretty cool.
@@AdamDoesNotExist yes it’s the Deep Roots section. As an aside since a lot of people hang over the edge with flags and what not you can find a pretty comfy spot in the first or second row of the supporters section with almost no trouble assuming your on time so you can be next to the drummers and what not if that’s your thing. As for the fans I think everyone and their mom is aggressively ready to take up the Coliseum. Hayward is lovely and has an incredible view from the stadium but everyone understands it’s a temporary stadium and the hype around the Coliseum is spreading like wildfire
To the man demanding the reinstatement of Shoeless Joe Jackson: I'm the acting commissioner of Association Baseball. We hold Comiskey responsible for organizing the Fix. You should get in touch.
You might just be the last person to go to a Giants and an Oakland A's game in one day. I mean you actually are.

Many thanks!
A blink and you'll miss it cameo from gamer athletics at the coliseum! Love the crossover lol
He's in there twice for a couple blinks. Good guy!
I have like three NY giants hats with WS patches sir. I’ve always wanted to find an NYG Willie Mays Jersey. Loved your video
these are great videos, i love the slice of life vibes without being self-glorifying
THank you!
Nice! I mean, what an outcome!
Awesome video! You're channel is going to grow super quick if you keep this awesome quality. Can't wait to see what's next
Thank you so much!
Hi Adam! Even if you're a Yankees fan and I was actually a Red Sox fan from the Philippines I had to admit you have some cool videos which i like and can't deny that I subscribed.
Well glad to have you here!
Another Adam Awesome Adventure video! I almost decided to get tickets for the Giants game on 8/21. Had I have actually gone then we very well would have crossed paths again, but I unfortunately chose not to go. I just have a feeling that at some point in the future we will cross again😀👍💯
I bet you're right! I still think it's wild that we crossed in Santa Rosa, but the bay isn't really that big. I bet we cross again.
HELL'S BELLS!!
I think a lot of people in the valley feel the same way you do!
Petco is the best park. Not a biased opinion at all 😬
Haha I'm sure. I also have no bias. Living in the Bay Area and all.
When I used to go to the A's game as a kid with the family in the early to mid 1970s the Coliseum was only 5-10 years old and it was really nice. What a shame that it is not what it once was.
Cool video man. Going to miss the Coliseum.
You and me both. This is a huge compliment coming from you! I'm really glad to hear you liked this.
You deserve waaay more subscribers my friend!
Maybe one day!
I’ll be there, September 23-26th and hope to see you there too. Great vid! 🎉
This is an amazing video and great editing job keep up the good work I’m a small RUclipsr doing videos like this and this is awesome❤❤
Thank you!
Very well put together video! I was surprised at the sub count but you can definitely add me to the list now
Thank you! Glad to hear it and glad to have you here!
I subscribed bc we have the same first name 😂🤙🏼
my dad was from Philly so I’ve always been a Phillies fan which means I’ve always been an A’s fan. But Oracle is the truth. Much better views than Citizens Bank. Good stuff
I was in college in PA the last time the Phillies won the WS. What a fan group!
Caring and resourceful ownership verse Uncaring and dimwitted ownership - the Oakland Coliseum was electric under the Haas family ownership . . it's disgraceful under current A's ownership.
Minute Maid Park in Houston I think is highly underrated! That train in the background is so neat!
Yeah I actually agree with you. I used to go to at least one game a year in Houston. I miss Tal's Hill though!
Long time Mets fan. Miss Shea Stadium. Last MLB game i went to was Oakland and i enjoyed it. Sorry they are leaving
I went to a few mets games as a kid. I loved the quirk that they had to stop the game for planes to fly over.
I love your content, Adam
Thank you!
I’m a former Oakland resident and A’s fan and I’m quaking with rage for Al Davis and John Fisher right now
Cool you made it to 2 stadiums!
I was at both games. Thanks for the video!
You bet!
I went to both the stadiums a month ago. Had a blast at both stadiums.
Both are absolutely incredible in their own way.
Adam. Your videos are great. Always enjoy. Your voice and narration are fantastic. Wish we were friends
Wow, thank you!
Not to mention you can literally watch three innings of a Giants game FOR FREE behind the backfield fence just feet from the right fielder. On the water. But you missed the drum section at the Coliseum. That was fire.
Please continue to make baseball content!
I think I have to! It seems like you and a lot of others love these videos, and If I can make it work as an actual job, that would be incredible.
Awesome. Where do I get that split hat?!?
I never did find one at the stadiums, but you can still find them on random corners of the internet
@@AdamDoesNotExist I can't seem to find that exact hate anywhere, unfortunately. Where at? 😆
@@Skulls_689 Yeah the exact hat (the one I wanted) is gone sadly. All I can find are similarish versions
PNC is the best stadium for sure
Come visit Truist in Atlanta! It's at least a tie with Oracle!
Those food concession prices are nuts. Just crazy.
Yeah you get quite a bit of that. But it's good to know that there are die hards in the stadium!
Nothing beats the fabulous Petco park 619
6:20 Curt Casali catching strays here. Geez. 😅
What category are Fenway and Wrigley Field in?
Iconic, and a category of their own.
Im curious, what did you mean when you said fenway and wrigley are in another league?
It would be like comparing Alfred Hitchcock to Chris Nolan or Aretha Franklin to Beyonce. Same category, all incredible, but its just not quite apples to apples.
2:30 - False: that's Citizen's Bank Park.
And if you think it's because I'm biased, you are absolutely right.
You should keep up the Bay Area content !!! I’m a SF guy but I can appreciate Oakland too!
Fenway is by far not the best lol, it's just historic af, and outdated unfortunately. Great video Adam.
thank you!
I’ve never understood why Dodger Stadium is raved so high, looks ugly and hard to get to. Is it high cause it’s in LA? Genuine question
I think it is the LA factor. Maybe it's the contrast between the city, and the relatively sparse canyon? Maybe the history? I don't know.
Hard to get out of too. I guess it's the same thing. No public transit.
Was at Game 162 in 2012 against the Rangers in Oakland. Theres nothing like a sold out packed coliseum. Too bad Fisher doesnt give a shit about fans.
I’m old enough to have known a guy who rocked that hat. He never stopped mourning their move to the west coast.
Went to both of those games too. Giants fan who stands, has traveled 20k miles this year to watch this .500 team in 10 stadiums this season, and I don’t give a shit what hat you wear. Nice editing though
Hahaha. 20k is covering a lot of ground!
San Diego stadium 🏟️ I think is nicer than Giants stadium 🏟️
That's a popular opinion, but it's not mine!
Recently went to the Journey concert at Petco Park, seems like a great place for aa ballgame.
I love Oracle Park, and I’m a Giants fan, but I’m very sad about the A’s leaving us and The Coliseum. Despite rivalry we’re brothers. FJF sell the team
Nice video, I’m a Yankees fan , but I wish the A’s stayed in Oakland. I don’t like it when teams leave the city they have so much history in.
It's just strange when a team leaves. But.... go Yankees!
Very enjoyable video. The Giants are my team but I'm also a fan of the A's. I'm deeply saddened the A's are leaving. Those running the city of Oakland are complete incompetents. From three great professional sport franchises to now none. Need I say more ?
I’m a dodger fan but Oracle Park is the best stadium in baseball. Such a beautiful park 🔥
I've got a "Battle of the Bay" hat I purchased in 1989 BEFORE you know what happened during the battle. What's the offer? J/K - it's a very important souvenir for me.
I've also got a PacBell Park T-shirt. I should wear them together (but somebody might steal the hat).
That's awesome! I bet you could get quite a bit for that hat, but probably less than it's worth to you.
PNC Park in Pitsburgh is considered the best Baseball Stadium and I say this as an Orioles fan with Camden Yards.Oracle Park is for sure a Top 3 Ballpark though.
Adam goes to a Roots game next god willing
@@datwee7576 Let's go! That's awesome to hear!!
3:35 Why am i watching the Grossi Perna Show
To the man demanding the reinstatement of Shoeless Joe Jackson: I'm the acting commissioner of Association Baseball. We hold Comiskey responsible for organizing the Fix. You should get in touch.
hey i went to the same game as you! Wednesday night???? It was a beautiful night in the park. It was $2 hotdog night.
Oh no way, I didn't know that!
