yeahhh that part was shaky for me too lol. (in truth, since this was recorded in early access, I wanted to see what would happen if I adventured away from Rome, and then struggled to justify it later when writing)
Former Roman Emperor Considered dead and probably crazy comes back to humiliate current Basilieus just to send a message and settles for Rum. Refuses to elaborate, dies
Ngl you missed a great opportunity for that speech at the first triumph to start with "Friends, Romans, Countrymen", the same way Marcus Antonius' speech at the Caesars funeral did according to Shakespeare
So this Emperor had an epic story arc, which was done with prematurely. Thus his entire life became a series of filler episodes and adventures. Not criticizing, I find the whole concept hilarious in a sense. And it was fun to see his character development all throughout.
I tend to give the kingdom of Wallachia to the Bulgarians and rename it Bulgaria, because by doing so I’m making that independent state of Bulgaria which is ruled by Bulgarians, the “true Bulgaria” thus damaging any Bulgarian territorial claims south of the Danube.
It’s a cool story but the Roman’s already had light skirmish cavalry, the buccelari, they got them from the Huns and had been using them way before the Turks got to Anatolia, I get that you said it to justify the cultural hybridization but historically it’s doesn’t make sense.
Hey, how do you initially have so many troops? I entered the byzantines after 200 ish years and eventually took it. It would take me at least 150 years until i had similar troop counts, but only when i took imperial troops. Could it be that the empire was irreversibly mismanaged when i took it, and so underdeveloped from constant civil wars? I find that the Ai constantly civil wars in this dlc

In the Game Rules you can now change the name of the Empire to either:
Byzantine Empire, Roman Empire, Eastern Roman Empire or Unholy Roman Empire
the Unholy Roman empire is insanely funny
@@BagofBeans1 hre naming vibes
Ah yes, the * German Voice * Unholy Roman Empire.
One time the HREmperor converted to Mandean so I switched to him, changed the name to the Unholy Roman Empire, then switched back the Bohemia
Him scrolling back east near the end of the video and the eastern roman empire being entirely collapsed already made me chuckle
The video: Alexios has found his peace and has long been in retirement
The game: 45:15 he is burning in hell
33:27 I like how you just chose to ignore the caliph also being your vassal lol
I love your storytelling and way of making a CK3 video. its a nice change of pace from some of the others I've watched.
Just going to pop to India, create an empire, then come home.

Okay feel like I just witnessed a legend of an alternative timeline
I really like the whole narrator/story aspect of the video, you don't get many videos like this on ck3, subscribed!
Good DLC perfect for even more in-depth and varied playthroughs!
29:00 the real roman empire was the friends we made along the way
Absolutely great story. I didn't like the India part, though.

This is an alternate history for this emperor worth watching. I loved the narrative.
