Totally overlooked Ibn Battuah he’s an scholar, geographer and writer that has one of the craziest documented travels in history. Akka mahadevi, the term “akka” is just “ elder sister”, like how in common parlance we refer to people as “bro”, “buddy” etc. so Akka is not her name, it’s just a casual prefix. It can he understand to how Catholic priests are called “fathers”, yet father is just a prefix and not a given name.

Ah awesome video, I actually searched for this after release and have been busy and not playing so it's actually news to me there's a list out there now.
Be interested to see if there will be a mod to add more of these figures that Paradox missed. Just from watching this I feel like it's missing quite a few significant figures such as Ferdowsi, the author of the Shahnameh. Another one might be Julian of Norwich, the anchoress and first known female English writer.
Obviously there’s a dramatic gap in characters, history is enormous. I’m surprised by how many of them were just “acclaimed scholar” and I do hope we get more further east but I think it’s a good start.
Nasrettin Hoca is actually the arch nemesis of Rumi. Both lived during the mongol occupation of Anatolia. Rumi supported the occupation whilst Ahi supported the local turkmen. It’s even rumoured that Rumi was so hateful of ahi that he took part in his murder. To keep Ahi Evrens Memory alive Turkmen started to tell his stories wherever they went.
Really cool video In regards to Basava, he was a believe in equality, and against the caste system and would go to create a new branch of Shaivism, Linyatism. I don't know if his faith of Linyatism is in the game or not, but it would be neat if it was.
I know with the third crusade start that a lot of the later dates aren’t too outrageous but it’s still so cool and kinda funny that you can start in the 800s and then jump ship to become Marco Polo lol
I can't believe they didn't include Anemas, the last son of the Emir of Crete. He served as a Byzantine commander, almost killed Sviatoslav and founded an influential Byzantine family. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anemas_(died_971)

Huh? She’s Henry II’s wife so…in jail I believe at the start of 1178 for trying to help her son Henry usurp his Dad iirc but also still married and the ruler of Aquitaine. She’s like 41 at the game start I think.
