Me and my friend were talking about how they could go crazy with Green Lantern and have it be similar to Earth 2’a concept and have the planet be the core and recruit lanterns. I think, in the case of Superman for the modern era at least, it's a case of morals. After all, there's only so much you can stretch the "raised with old fashioned values" line or in the case of the movies, insert an Uncle Ben style character motivation. Here's how I'm picturing this, as a chance for meta commentary on the way the world is going. Assuming we backdate the comic by 3-6 years, let's say Clark is in his early 20s (21 making him the youngest and most outspoken to 24 making him the most social issue active; though I think the first could be fun as he and Batman could bond over more than just rich boy vs farm boy or more often the man vs god narrative they have). That would mean, assuming it's set between 2018 - 2021 (let's face it, the last couple of decades definitely qualify as darkseid energy), this'll let the authors readdress recent issues with the benefit of some hindsight, and get people interested since this'll generate talking points about the comics outside of the DC fans. And back to Clark, assuming he's in the 21-24 age group, he would have been raised in the 1997-2000 era to start and gained powers in a world where the world is rapidly losing faith in government, the world economy is violently fluctuating, civil rights issues are more outspoken, primary industries like *farming* are suffering, corruption in industries are coming to light, war and death are a constant throughout the world, violence on civilians by civilians is an epidemic, etc. Assuming that at the earliest the Kents find him, they're 25, to the latest being say, 50: That would mean the Kents themselves grew up in the 1947-1972. 1947 - severe decrease in need for crops & surplus due to increased production needed for wartime led to prices plummeting, the beginning of the cold war, the drought that hit Kansas in 1952, etc. 1972 - when floppy disks were still not widespread, the pentagon papers were published, Roe V. I'm guessing we'll see a more anti-authority Superman, which, most likely, grew up unknowingly under constant government supervision. Cause the US would definitely have detected his ship due the investments in satellite tech. Honestly, I'd love to see if he gets ideas from his powers because he's on internet forums that discuss superheroes. I mean the older versions of Batman was a nerd who used his favorite comic as a password for the Batcave. Maybe there could be a comic series that pops up in the background that is the basis for these forums, a commentary on the previous versions of DC's continuity. The only reason I suggest this is because of the theory that people with a high enough level of strength and durability can swallow coal and shit diamonds. Blame Greg Vader in Worm Fanfiction.
I don't know about Super Man it's too vague to really say it's bad but the description sounds way too similar to what they have already done with Superman 1000 times over. What if Superman's origin was modernized was already done with New 52 and aI wasn't the biggest fan of that Superman. Maybe they will stick the landing this time but again I have my doubts
Love the ideas for the Absolute Universe. Would like Barry to appear in Absolute Flash still can be part of the speed force or something. But hoping some of the other books are like Aquamam, would love a Martian Manhunter and Zatana.

The conceit is that Superman is all about hope and bringing order, so Darkseid energy is all about darkness and chaos - which, of course, Our Heroes will have to fight against. Implication is that unlike the main universe(s), they won't always win, but they won't give up either - I mean, Diana literally fought her way out of Hell here, so...
I have a feeling that after the Rumored Martian Manhunter book the next ones are going to be a Absolute Aquaman or Hawkwoman or Cyborg series cause I don't think they are going to introduce the Titans for a very long time and DC keep trying to push cyborg as a main Justice Leaguer when everyone wants to just see him in the Titans which is b******* if you ask me. Now if they're actually going to do Aquaman then I hope it's actually Arthur Curry not DC going in another direction and instead introducing a new version of Mera as Aquawoman. The Hawks could go either Hawman or Hawkwoman but I would prefer a new version of Kendra Hawkwoman because she is more popular as a Leaguer. I would also love an Absolute Shazam! I think Absolute Batman looks silly. I mean, chonky Bats ain't going to be doing the ninja-like disappearing act, or not without lots of laughs. They have to emphasize Bat-hulk's muscles just to keep us from asking why every crook in Gotham doesn't call him Fatman. I also hope there is no Absolute Batgirl, Robin or Nightwing. A Bat-family of Venom addicts isn't something I want to read.

@@2kx62 But since this is a universe where the heroes appear to being WITHOUT major aspects of their backstory or character what could they take from Jay or take from Barry (that they didn't at one point or another the past 15 years take away) that could impact their character. With Wally being a legacy character it DOES have an interesting story potential since he has always had another speedster there for him, but here he's on his own so why not see how it unfolds like how Bruce is able to be Batman without the limitless money, Diana is Wonder Woman without the Amazons, or Clark being Superman without the deep ties to Earth or apparent aid from the Fortress.
People will be mad, but that green lantern book isn't going to sell. I don't know why they insist on doing this same character type that doesn't work. I'm sorry. The strong black woman archetype is sales poison. From Reva to whatever that woman's name in Star Wars is, they have trained the audience to hate that character look. I've been reading comics for DECADES and todays comics SUCK. The ideas just keep getting worse and worse until we get this crap. I've spent hundreds of $$$ on comics back when they were good and when Dennis O'Neil ran the Batman titles. Since his departure, things SUCK. Scott Schnieder? MEH Waaaay overrated. Tom King? PFFFFFFFFFT What a hack. I could go on, but we haven't had a great Batman writer since Grant Morrison.

He’s a city engineer so he probably designed it himself. It has less resources so the suit likely isn’t up to the same batsuit standard

I think Absolute Batman looks silly. I mean, chonky Bats ain't going to be doing the ninja-like disappearing act, or not without lots of laughs. They have to emphasize Bat-hulk's muscles just to keep us from asking why every crook in Gotham doesn't call him Fatman. I also hope there is no Absolute Batgirl, Robin or Nightwing. A Bat-family of Venom addicts isn't something I want to read.

They're heroes. That's why they're underdogs, in a world of chaos (the "Darkseid energy" the writers reference). Besides, we've _seen_ the stories where either some (Injustice) or all (the Crime Syndicate of Amerikka) of the known heroes are evil.

Insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results. Want different takes on our heroes?' We already have them it's called Elseworlds. Multiversal reboots!!???? Been there done that over and over. The Doomsday Clock gave fans a real chance to go back to the more down to eart adventures we grew up with . To see Clark and Lois raising their young son which we had been waiting for, for many decades. Not have social propaganda consume and ruin our comics. To paraphrase George Takei " Not everyone has to be gay, or a trans or, seceretly evil all along." Thank the woke crowd for libeling and destroying Capt. America!!!!! Ngl they love pushing his character for some reason I mean recently they have to remind you that he’s better than Barry every 5 seconds, it’s anoying. Also I think using Wally for this universe is dumb bc Wally is a legacy character, I think Barry or jay should of been the flash of this universe.
@@2kx62 But since this is a universe where the heroes appear to being WITHOUT major aspects of their backstory or character what could they take from Jay or take from Barry (that they didn't at one point or another the past 15 years take away) that could impact their character. With Wally being a legacy character it DOES have an interesting story potential since he has always had another speedster there for him, but here he's on his own so why not see how it unfolds like how Bruce is able to be Batman without the limitless money, Diana is Wonder Woman without the Amazons, or Clark being Superman without the deep ties to Earth or apparent aid from the Fortress.
People will be mad, but that green lantern book isn't going to sell. I don't know why they insist on doing this same character type that doesn't work. I'm sorry. The strong black woman archetype is sales poison. From Reva to whatever that woman's name in Star Wars is, they have trained the audience to hate that character look. They should have just done Hal Jordan or Jon Stewart.

Love to see strong black women portrayed but its becoming detrimental when that’s all we get. Especially for African American women they are usually the strong harsh soldier type. Why can’t we get black women that act like jubilee or raven.

I've been reading comics for DECADES and todays comics SUCK. The ideas just keep getting worse and worse until we get this crap. I've spent hundreds of $$$ on comics back when they were good and when Dennis O'Neil ran the Batman titles. Since his departure, things SUCK. Scott Schnieder? MEH Waaaay overrated. Tom King? PFFFFFFFFFT What a hack. I could go on, but we haven't had a great Batman writer since Grant Morrison.
They just ruined my favorite hero. A female green lantern is not it. Women don’t know anything about willpower. It’s beyond reasonable even for fantasy.
