I find it interesting that colosseum and gale of darkness are apparently not very popular or well known, when basically every poketuber I ever watched has talked about/knows about/played these games. And lots of people seem to care about them as well. Am I wrong in this assumption?
I think it's because those who know about it are already pokemon fans. The average gamer would be aware of the mainline games, but the Colosseum side series is something only a portion of pokemon fans played.

I mean, of course poketubers will talk about it. Their whole thing is pokemon, and thus they will know about and have played most of the pokemon games that have come out. And the same goes for major fans of pokemon in general. But, how many Non-poketubers talk about it is a key missing detail. Sure some do, but no where near the same level as non-poketubers talking about Gen 1 and other mainline games. It isn't very well known to the casual pokemon fans which is much greater in number than major fans.
My favorite line in the game is during the Phenac City takeover where a Cipher Peon disguised as Justy says he disguised himself as Justy to impress the ladies, except all the ladies in town are currently disguised Cipher Peons too, so there was no point.
I caught a level 5 female Sunkern in Violet, named it Jovie, and left it in my box, never to be used. I got a Sunflora later in the game, so Jovie wasn't missed
Every time a pokétuber makes a video about obscure pokémon gems, I long more for the day that Pokémon Conquest gains the recognition it deserves. It's such a great game, would highly recommend.

Basically you have a partner Pokémon and you go around battling warriors and warlords to conquer and unite the region. It’s turn based. I thought it was fun but I don’t think it did as well because…well the crossover was kind of out there 😅
I mean the main story is great, but after that it's such a marathon to the end. I CAN NOT be the only one who felt like it was a grind to do all of the lord's story. Some of them are easy, but of them requires so much grinding and time commitment (catching 100 Pokemon) that I made a routine to do one battle everyday and I finished it in 2 and ahalf months.

Mirror B. Actually has a great side storyline in XD. If you keep encountering him at the poke spots you can get all the shadow Pokemon you missed. In addition to that the followers that were attached to him also have a fun plot line. I love it

IMO, the BEST animation detail in PLA is if an Alpha Pokemon defeats what you have sent out, and you're about to pick another Pokemon to battle The way the Alpha LOOKS at the player is.... *Terrifying*
now just imagine in countering an alpha hisuian lilligant (incase if u didn't know, hisuian lilligant has something in common with abra in PLA, as both of them can notice u from a far or when ur flying around with ur hisuian braviary)

I've watched Jaiden's video and three reactions, and all of them have been hilarious! It really showed how much you like these games, and I for one would love to see some sort of play through on your other channel!
It's nothing short of criminal that Colosseum and XD are so unpopular. They are amazing games. I still go back and play them every so often. Hell, now I'm kinda feeling the urge to play through XD again!

I also played this as a kid-before getting into the main series proper with Diamond-but as I’ve grown up, I’ve also come to appreciate the better AI. Like, in mainline, you more or less just smack everyone for supereffective damage and win; very rarely do opponents have strategies, and even then it’s more just Whitney using Rollout (doesn’t really count, does it) or every notable Kingdra screwing with accuracy or evasion (which, in actual competitive, is very illegal). Not so in XD: many trainers actually build their teams around proper strategies, things you might actually see people do if you go into Gen 3 doubles. And what do you know, it makes for a far more interesting game. I really wish mainline AI would get that kind of upgrade. I also wish mainline would do double battles as standard like XD did, wanted that since I first played it.
I love the fact that these games are getting more attention because they deserve it. Also your reactions are nice and funny they don’t feel lazy like others
I played and loved Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness as a child and still hope to this day to see a third game like them. Also, maybe Team Sky could give them some extra love. I'm sure they could use a Shadow Lugia. Also, I'd say Gen II counts as sequel games as well, as we pick up on what Team Rocket has been doing, see familiar characters, and go back to see Kanto.
Someone is working on Legends Celebi, and I’d recommend that for a video. There are multiple teasers, and I think Michael would love it considering Lugia and ho-oh are the main legends
If you're a fan of Pokemon Colosseum, I highly would recommend watching JelloApocalypse and their video about the game. They play with a group of friends and gave a bunch of personality to all the Pokemon
Oh my god, Dogs in Love is tied with the Edgeworth series for my fav videos of theirs! That Edgelord Umbreon and the Obsessed Altaria. Not to mention that the Player Character thinks all Pokemon are dogs! XDDD All of their videos are a hoot and a half any you can see that they're clearly enjoying themselves.

I decided to just start the game. When you were talking about finding the sister under the table gave you so much trouble, you had to go to your room, get an email, find an OLD DUDE under the table, and he'll tell you to go to the mansion to find the sister there. Hope that cleared something up. (:
I feel like there's definitely been a rise in Colosseum/Gale of Darkness content (mostly Colosseum) in recent years. JaidenAnimations, MandJTV, PapaSea, JelloApocalypse, and Chuggaconroy. It's honestly made me want to play the games, but since I was born in the DS Era of Pokemon and don't have a GameCube, I've resorted to emulators and am very tempted to play the rom hacks of them including modern Pokemon mechanics.
I can strongly relate to the point that Jaiden got stuck on as a kid, I never beat pokemon black and white2 as a kid because of this one point where team plasma blocks your path, and I come back to it now to find out that they literally tell you where to go.
I think it’s funny when Inn Jaden animations video, the cyber grant takes off his mask, which was just another mastic underneath it that looked exactly the same and the dog in the butterfly that was funny.

I’d argue that gold silver and crystal could also be considered true sequels as you see the Kanto region and how the characters from the Gen 1 games developed over time.
And also they were actually intended to be a sequel to RBY , and they were also going to be the last pokemon games , until the games blew tf up and then gamefreak decided to not cancel pokemon ,
They are never talked about as much as they should be but Colloseum and Gale Of Darkness were two Pokemon games that are easily some of the best and most underrated. From the story to all else in between it's a shame they aren't as well known because they really were fantastic games!!

Seeing how in multiple of the games the evil leader asks you to join their team it would be cool but 100% never gonna happen to get a Pokémon game with an alternate ending where you say yes to joining the team and you actually fulfill the teams goals
I don't remember my full team the first time I played this game, but I remember that I had Vaporeon, Ampharos, and Ninetales. I used to have Houndour on the team, but switched when I got the Vulpix, because Ninetales is my all-time favorite Pokemon. I think I had Arbok on the team when I caught it, because Arbok is my favorite Poison type, but I honestly don't remember.
The title of the game is short for "Extra Dimension" Also the Salamence vs. Metagross Battle Sim is actually labeled internally in the files as "Battle Sim 00", but only appears when you move the file for this Battle Sim outside of the title screen files, however trying to boot it up in this instance causes the game to freeze on a white screen, forcing you to reset. Thank you Bulbapedia for informing me of this And if you think Jigglypuff Stadium Fainting animation is funny, wait until you see its Mega Kick animation (Edit: oops didn't see the typo)
Colosseum and XD are great games that have been sadly overlooked by a majority of the fan base. Also, Mikey, I thoroughly enjoyed watching your playthrough of XD. It quickly became one of my favorite video series, so don't say nobody cared about it. XD (and the Pokémon series in general) also served as an inspiration for the first book I wrote and published a few years ago.

As an old fart for a Pokemon fan (in my early 30s), XD as an emoji predates the game, and its widespread use on the internet in the 2000s is what inspired the Rawr XD meme because so many people were unironically using it.
Jaidens videos are great and all but it's really underrated from what I've seen in the way she does subtle things in her animations like facial expressions. Some of them are just hilarious. Like in her soul link she did with Alpharad when she faced a lugia and she looked at her team and her Prinplup put its arms up in an X pattern saying not me when she was deciding who to send out lol
Pokemon Colosseum has been my favorite Pokemon game ever since I got it on release day! The fact that you continuously use the game's soundtrack in your videos makes me so happy 😩❤️ Why they haven't ported them over to the Switch or remastered them makes me want to cry!
What I'm disappointed in is that they didn't do the Shadow Lugia right in Pokemon Go, but Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness will always be one of my favorite Games of all time. Also has anyone else realized that Mirror B's Ludicolos dance to his music?
There's a rom hack of XD called Pokemon XG (Next Gen) and it's got a lot of great features, all pokemon gen 1-3 catchable, physical/special split, fairy type, rebalanced stats, better challenge/difficulty curve, improvements on shadow pokemon mechanics ect ect. its even better than whatever half baked remake Nintendo would give it.
Love both colosseum and gale of darkness so glad to see more content around them. Maybe mandjtv and pm7 could do a competitive challenge run on these games?
As someone who lives in Arizona, it’s not all dessert and it is not all desert. In fact, we have one of the largest pine tree forest in the world! It not all sand (like everyone believes) just because it’s a 120 degrees Fahrenheit in the the summer.
I love Colosseum and Gale of Darkness, and I still have working copies I play off and on because of the hard to catch Shadow Pokémon and to have a break from the easier, newer games. My best feat in Colosseum is getting Shadow Raikou in a Great Ball, which wasn't easy as the catch rates are a little wonky compared to the main games. These two GCN games deserve more love! I hope you'll keep loving them like I do, and I hope your viewers will love them too if they have yet to play them!
I'm glad that you reacted to this, even though you already did a reaction video to the 2nd Pokemon Ranger game. I've played through this game twice (thanks to having multiple GCN memory cards), and enjoyed it both times. Also I actually have managed to snag all six of Greevil's Pokemon in a single battle in both playthroughs. No it was not easy, but I did it.
Mewtwo had a special shadow form, but yeah other than that (and it's not too different just crystals sticking out of its body) not much, anime had some like the Tyranitar and Celebi from the 4th movie, you got the crystal Onix which was not only one of the 1st regional variants technically the 1st new type added, immune to water weak to fire. Pokemon should really di into the other spin off franchises. They sort of dipped into the manga giving Greninja a bond form, every Pokemon does in the manga if I recall, though also don't recall if it was basically just mega evolution like Greninja is.
I am literally in the middle of replaying Pokémon XD right now! I finished Colosseum a few weeks ago and moved on to XD. I’ll have to come back and watch this when I’m finished coz I’m enjoying playing these without much memory of what happens

14:30 I actually found Justy to be a pretty difficult fight; I couldn't tell you which game it was in, but his final team of 5 or 6 Pokemon was a little tough for me, even when I replayed these games in 2015

Mirror B. Actually has a great side storyline in XD. If you keep encountering him at the poke spots you can get all the shadow Pokemon you missed. In addition to that the followers that were attached to him also have a fun plot line. I love it

It's nothing short of criminal that Colosseum and XD are so unpopular. They are amazing games. I still go back and play them every so often. Hell, now I'm kinda feeling the urge to play through XD again!

I also played this as a kid-before getting into the main series proper with Diamond-but as I’ve grown up, I’ve also come to appreciate the better AI.
Like, in mainline, you more or less just smack everyone for supereffective damage and win; very rarely do opponents have strategies, and even then it’s more just Whitney using Rollout (doesn’t really count, does it) or every notable Kingdra screwing with accuracy or evasion (which, in actual competitive, is very illegal). Not so in XD: many trainers actually build their teams around proper strategies, things you might actually see people do if you go into Gen 3 doubles. And what do you know, it makes for a far more interesting game.
I really wish mainline AI would get that kind of upgrade. I also wish mainline would do double battles as standard like XD did, wanted that since I first played it.

I played and loved Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness as a child and still hope to this day to see a third game like them. Also, maybe Team Sky could give them some extra love. I'm sure they could use a Shadow Lugia. Also, I'd say Gen II counts as sequel games as well, as we pick up on what Team Rocket has been doing, see familiar characters, and go back to see Kanto.

If you're a fan of Pokemon Colosseum, I highly would recommend watching JelloApocalypse and their video about the game. They play with a group of friends and gave a bunch of personality to all the Pokemon
Oh my god, Dogs in Love is tied with the Edgeworth series for my fav videos of theirs! That Edgelord Umbreon and the Obsessed Altaria. Not to mention that the Player Character thinks all Pokemon are dogs! XDDD All of their videos are a hoot and a half any you can see that they're clearly enjoying themselves.

I feel like there's definitely been a rise in Colosseum/Gale of Darkness content (mostly Colosseum) in recent years. JaidenAnimations, MandJTV, PapaSea, JelloApocalypse, and Chuggaconroy. It's honestly made me want to play the games, but since I was born in the DS Era of Pokemon and don't have a GameCube, I've resorted to emulators and am very tempted to play the rom hacks of them including modern Pokemon mechanics.

They are never talked about as much as they should be but Colloseum and Gale Of Darkness were two Pokemon games that are easily some of the best and most underrated. From the story to all else in between it's a shame they aren't as well known because they really were fantastic games!!

I don't remember my full team the first time I played this game, but I remember that I had Vaporeon, Ampharos, and Ninetales. I used to have Houndour on the team, but switched when I got the Vulpix, because Ninetales is my all-time favorite Pokemon. I think I had Arbok on the team when I caught it, because Arbok is my favorite Poison type, but I honestly don't remember.

Also the Salamence vs. Metagross Battle Sim is actually labeled internally in the files as "Battle Sim 00", but only appears when you move the file for this Battle Sim outside of the title screen files, however trying to boot it up in this instance causes the game to freeze on a white screen, forcing you to reset. Colosseum and XD are great games that have been sadly overlooked by a majority of the fan base.
Also, Mikey, I thoroughly enjoyed watching your playthrough of XD. It quickly became one of my favorite video series, so don't say nobody cared about it.
XD (and the Pokémon series in general) also served as an inspiration for the first book I wrote and published a few years ago.

As an old fart for a Pokemon fan (in my early 30s), XD as an emoji predates the game, and its widespread use on the internet in the 2000s is what inspired the Rawr XD meme because so many people were unironically using it.

Jaidens videos are great and all but it's really underrated from what I've seen in the way she does subtle things in her animations like facial expressions. Some of them are just hilarious. Like in her soul link she did with Alpharad when she faced a lugia and she looked at her team and her Prinplup put its arms up in an X pattern saying not me when she was deciding who to send out lol

There's a rom hack of XD called Pokemon XG (Next Gen) and it's got a lot of great features, all pokemon gen 1-3 catchable, physical/special split, fairy type, rebalanced stats, better challenge/difficulty curve, improvements on shadow pokemon mechanics ect ect. its even better than whatever half baked remake Nintendo would give it.

As someone who lives in Arizona, it’s not all dessert and it is not all desert. In fact, we have one of the largest pine tree forest in the world! It not all sand (like everyone believes) just because it’s a 120 degrees Fahrenheit in the the summer.
I love Colosseum and Gale of Darkness, and I still have working copies I play off and on because of the hard to catch Shadow Pokémon and to have a break from the easier, newer games. My best feat in Colosseum is getting Shadow Raikou in a Great Ball, which wasn't easy as the catch rates are a little wonky compared to the main games.
These two GCN games deserve more love! I hope you'll keep loving them like I do, and I hope your viewers will love them too if they have yet to play them!

I'm glad that you reacted to this, even though you already did a reaction video to the 2nd Pokemon Ranger game. I've played through this game twice (thanks to having multiple GCN memory cards), and enjoyed it both times.
Also I actually have managed to snag all six of Greevil's Pokemon in a single battle in both playthroughs. No it was not easy, but I did it.
Mewtwo had a special shadow form, but yeah other than that (and it's not too different just crystals sticking out of its body) not much, anime had some like the Tyranitar and Celebi from the 4th movie, you got the crystal Onix which was not only one of the 1st regional variants technically the 1st new type added, immune to water weak to fire. Pokemon should really di into the other spin off franchises. They sort of dipped into the manga giving Greninja a bond form, every Pokemon does in the manga if I recall, though also don't recall if it was basically just mega evolution like Greninja is.
I am literally in the middle of replaying Pokémon XD right now! I finished Colosseum a few weeks ago and moved on to XD. I’ll have to come back and watch this when I’m finished coz I’m enjoying playing these without much memory of what happens

My first actual pokemon game was Coliseum when it first came out as I only had a GameCube. Yes, I started out on the hardest pokemon game and it deserves more attention

14:30 I actually found Justy to be a pretty difficult fight; I couldn't tell you which game it was in, but his final team of 5 or 6 Pokemon was a little tough for me, even when I replayed these games in 2015
It was probably the first game. His entire team is in the 40’s and at that point you can battle him your like mid 30’s at best

Pokemon coliseum was the first pokemon game I ever played as a child. First Mainline game was Pearl right after it came out.
