Doctor Reacts To Jaiden Animation's Health Scare

- Jaiden Animations is an amazing channel featuring animations... by Jaiden. Jaiden suffered a scary health emergency and made a video about it! Lots of you suggested I react to it, so here we are. Poor Jaiden suffered from an outbreak of hives that seemed to come out of nowhere, and struggled seeing several doctors over the course of several days... all taking place around Christmas. Was it because of her bird, Ari? Was it because of the stress she was under? Jaiden has a few other health-related videos over the years, so if you liked this give the video a thumbs up and if we hit 100k likes I'll react to those!

Mike: That's a good friend.
Me: That's a SMART friend.
I mean not really smart I think it's a good friend cause I mean imagine if you're friend tells you they've been in so much pain they can't think straight they obviously don't know what's happening to them so I think a good friend would tell them to go to the hospital, but I don't particularly disagree with what you're saying it is a smart friend I guess

Well given you spelled ecstatic correctly I'm gonna have to give you the crown.
Given how many different genres of RUclips channels I watch... It's great when they collab. Team trees was the best thing and it was all for a good cause.
I’m one of those people! I never really thought about how common or uncommon that particular combination of interests is, but now I’m kind of curious how many of us are out there
My dream job has always been something in health care. I’m also an artist.
I’m newer to Dr. Mike. He had a video on a topic we covered in class last year and explained it better than my professor.
I’ve been watching Jaiden for a good while. I think I was in high school. I just love her videos and the way she tells her stories. It’s like listening to a friend.
*extatic
I do!
what I was most concern in that story is the fact that no one asked her the time of the day she was experiencing the worsening of the hives, that was the most important part of the story, and it could have saved her a lot of pain.
this is why i always tell my doc everything, even if she's not asking.
My mom had this exact same situation. But in her case a doctor figured it out, turns out it was poisoning by mercury. We ate some sea food the day before, and aparently there was a little mercury in some of the sea food we ate. Thankfully she survived because of that doctor
Learned something about biomagnification the other day, where certain stable compounds/elements are little at lower tropic levels then increases when you go up the food chain, it happens with mercury and pcbs

The one time I had Hives, I was in Elementary School and I used this soap that I was allergic to, apparently, so my body was itchy as hell. My mom, with her "Infinite Wisdom", saw the intense scratching... and got all annoyed at me. It took her a little bit to realize that my body was pink, and she took me to the hospital... they diagnosed me with Hives. I don't remember too much of this story tbh... but I do remember the "Rashes".
I was in South Carolina back in 2018 mid Summer to visit some family, and one day I was chatting it up with a couple folks outside and everything was all good. It was hot so naturally I had to put some Sunscreen on... well later that day, my Step-Relatives noticed I was growing a rash on my arms, but I didn't think too much of it... the moment I went into the shower, however... I obtained rashes on my legs... and I went and told them about it, and went to the ER. They noticed the rash and gave me the shot of steriods right away. My guess is the Sunscreen caused it but there were loads of bugs flying about.
I'm never going down south again.
I hope ur doing good now :D
Reminds me of when I used this specific brand of soap and the day after I woke up with a rash all over my body. Needless to say, never used it again.
i’ve had them pop up when i’ve been in old houses, using the soaps in school dispensers, cleaning and just wearing clothes i haven’t worn in a long time. i can remember being as young as 9 waking my mom at two in the morning and calling the hospital because i was coated front to back. severe soap and dust allergy over here 😬

Sometimes, I wish I had a better explanation than "it just happens sometimes", but I've accepted that this is something we might never find the cause of. I got hives as a kid that were considered idiopathic. Burning and itching, but nothing had changed. They made me miss a party because they weren’t sure if it was contagious or not. I had all my vaccines, including chickenpox, so they were stumped. Turns out it was Cholinergic urticaria. Heat hives. I went to hard playing outside. Still get them if I get too hot nowadays about 20 some odd years later.
I had cellulitis once after an infected mosquito bite. My wrist swelled up like a red hot balloon of pain.
The nurse practitioner I saw drew a sharpie line around the swelling and told me “If it spreads past this line, come RIGHT back.”

@@user-bl4oq7fd8d But it's common courtesy to do so.
@@user-bl4oq7fd8d Reactions aren't always fair use, in fact, fair use reactions are fairly rare (though I think this one counts). Among the fair use factors are; did you use more of it than you had to for what you're doing (any reaction that doesn't edit and cut down a significant chunk of a video fails this), can your product replace the original (ie can I watch a reaction instead of the original and be satisfied), and is it transformative. Most of the time reactions only stay up because owners of a video allow it to, recognizing that taking videos down is a good way to annoy your own fanbase and taking it as free marketing. The same applies to let's plays of any story-heavy game where you could watch it *instead* of playing it. This is also why Paradox is one of the most pro-youtuber companies around, their games only benefit from being let's played.

Bruh the doctor giving her an epipen and then just sending her on her way is so relatable. I had to manually focus on counting the zeros.
Her experience with doctors having no idea what's happening and just trying random things that aren't working is every single experience with doctors to me. A year and a half on, and I'm still coughing without anyone having a clue.
I hope you've had a chest x-ray or scan to preclude something growing in there that shouldn't be. If it is otherwise the only thing happening, something around you is constantly inflaming your lungs. You checked your house for mold?
Holy cow do you get like a little tickle cough that pops up for several months at a time and doesn't go away cause I've been trying to figure out what that's about. I've never been to a doctor for it though its more of a slight annoyance than anything truly worrying.
Could be allergies. I always need to keep my house clean or I keep having insistent coughing.
Besides the obvious respiratory conditions, it could also be gastric reflux.
I suffered for years until I ended up in the hospital thinking I had appendicitis before a random ER doctor asked if I had ever been tested for Celiac Disease. Lo and behold, that's what it was, and only needed a simple blood test to confirm- but it took years until someone thought to ask and test for it.
Thanks dr. Mike for making me even more scared about my medical problems

You know, her comment section goes into some theories, that the hives seemed to have gotten worse every time she went to bed. So maybe there was something in her sheets or clothes that were there that affected her. Maybe mites? But it's thought that it was something she picked up from the hotels that she stayed at, since she went to so many.
Yeah, I think it might have something to do with her travel. I also had an intense itch after coming back home from a long trip. I might have picked up something along the way. I kind of think I had a viral itch or something, because my itch actually went away BY ITSELF shortly before I decided to go to the doctors (yeah, I was honestly trying to ride the itch out lol).
Or that my itch was scared by the prospect of doctors and went away by itself lol.
Do you think this was also around the time she was suffering from that eating disorder?

I have Chronic Physical Urticaria and for a while being in bed was when it was at it's worst, while being away from other known triggers. Turned out in my case it was night sweats. Whatever bodily function causes a short lived fever during sleep was also making my attacks (hives) extremely bad, so much so that I wouldn't even get to the point of sweating.
Not saying that was the case for Jaiden, as her condition will have been different to mine, but that temperature spike could maybe have made it worse for her too.
Despite the complaints Mike had with the treatments she was given, it was a whole lot better than what I got. "Just keep taking anti-histamines and it'll go away by itself." Here I am 16 years later, life ground to a crawl because if conditions aren't just right I break out with those all too familiar burning, stinging and hyper sensitive bouts of hives, and they still just want me to keep taking the anti-histamines.
I get hives all the time, from a lot of things, but mainly the cold. When he was describing the symptoms of anaphylaxis and severe allergic reactions all I could think of was how just today I had all of those symptoms because I was out in the cold for 7 hours. Being allergic to the cold whilst in marching band is such a fun time(sarcasm).
Ayyyy same just please be careful because cold urticaria doesn’t cause anaphylaxis but extreme blood pressure drop which makes you pass out and eventually die.
It’s also not an allergy since no food is concerned which means symptoms vary widely.
Please do get tested it’s vital information especially for doctors regarding injuries and surgery etc.
@@isabellegrace2250 Yes, 100%, it is an allergic condition though, but yeah, I know I should be careful but schools and teachers don't really care as long as you are somewhat functional doing what they want you tom
@@VeekubiakIt’s not an allergy though because of some reason my doctor keeps telling me but I forget each time. Something with how our T-cells react. It looks and works like an allergy but we cannot medically call it “an allergy to the cold”. But I’m sure you know what I mean.
Teachers are a nuisance when it comes to this. My school did sports at a field that would get freezing cold in winter (I lived in England by the way) but without a proper diagnosis and epi pen, they still legally had to make me go. Which is why I had three “episodes” there.
Yet every time they told me off for “not keeping warm enough” and forced me to go again.
Get yourself a note from your GP excusing you from all cold-exposed related activities, believe me it does wonders.

I had a similar situation where I was getting these large, raised but flat-topped, firm, and hot-to-the-touch rashes all over my upper torso, arms and face, scalp, etc. They were extremely itchy and when I went to the doctor, he gave me a topical ointment to control the itching and an antihistamine. It didn't really help with the itching since the ointment wasn't supposed to be used on large areas of the body like the rashes were covering, so I had to pick and choose what were the "worst" areas. After about 2 weeks the symptoms had completely resolved and everything was fine. THEN two months later the same thing happened, but picking up exactly where the last rashes had ended and covering my entire lower body down to the tops of my feet, but not the bottoms. This time I went to emergency cuz it's now happened twice and I needed to get to the bottom of this. I got blood work and a thorough physical exam from a lovely doctor and came back with nothing out of the ordinary. They hooked me up with an allergy specialist who did an allergy test which came back negative for everything but dust mites and cockroaches which aren't a problem in my house. The allergist's best guess was the amount of stress I was constantly under at my job at the time had damaged my immune system to the point where I was getting overblown reactions to simple pathogens, even two months after I'd quit that job.
TLDR: Long term extreme stress affected my immune system to where it over reacted to pathogens, causing large full-body rashes twice in two months.

When I used to do crochet amigurumi plush toys for the local anime convention I used to go to, there were times when I stressed myself to try and get more stuff made, because I was selling my products faster than I can make and replace them! In all the cases that I stressed out about it, and was trying to rush things and pushing myself too hard, I developed some kind of hives, but they would only appear on the top of my forearms. At one point, I had to have the convention's first aid people come and take a look at me. My skin was burning up, and felt hot to the touch, and they gave me some ice packs to help cool them down. Next day, I went to the doctor's, and they told me I had stress hives, and gave me a cream for it. I think the worst I've ever had it, was that they developed these blister-like things after the hives were in full swing, you'd swear it was a burn or something O.o
These days, if I'm crocheting and if my forearms start feeling itchy and/or warm, I'll stop and take the rest of the day off, just so I can avoid that again. I've also stopped doing at-convention crocheting too, so whatever I've made for the convention, that's all I'm selling, I'm not making anymore, just so I can avoid whatever those things were on my arms =P
watching this vid on both channels gave me flashbacks to when myself and my sibling got got Chicken pox as kids and but instead of the usual presentation for just me and my sister, we got a full body rash... was unpleasant, still top 10 for discomfort+pain in my life.
This is the frustration I’ve had with so many doctors is that they just treat the generalized symptoms instead of investigating and alleviating the underlying cause. Doctor Mike is one of the few doctors that I would actually trust to help me.
i've had to deal with so many doctors that don't check everything and just give me a very common diagnosis and it would be something completely different from what i actually had
Same😭
Being diagnosed with "generalized anxiety disorder" instead of the brain fog causing it is the worst P1000 ive wasted to a doctor
I've had bad pain near my appendix for over a year now, no it's not the appendix or anything/ I got ultra sounds done three times after needing to go to the hospital because of the pain. Well the most recent doctor I saw was like "Well its probably something not that deep, probably a fungie infection or something that hasn't been treated correctly" he gave me some stuff to rub on the place with the pain and so far it has been helping
i have a auto immune disorder and my hips were in a lot of pain as a baby and the doctor straight up told my mom my underwear was to tight
You should also react to Markiplier's video "Pain" in which he describes the experience of having a tumor removed from his adrenal gland and the incompetent care he received from the doctor.
YESS!
I think he's already reacted to Mark's videos. "Reacting to Markiplier's Health Scare" or something to that effect.
@@madyou_ Yeah but he didn’t react to the “Pain” video, that’s a different story
Poor guy
That's a really great idea!
So actually recently found out I'm allergic to shrimp. DURING MY MCAT, someone brought in shrimp for lunch and I've never had shrimp except for one moment when I was 12 and I was like this burns my mouth so nope not eating it. Then I spat it out. But my reaction was nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, chest pain and tightness, hives, and dizziness.I thought I was just stressed. Also I'm retaking it. But then over the next few weeks I tried some dumplings and then kept having the reaction so I went to the doctor and they were like here's two epi-pens, avoid things with shrimp and if you realize too late or start to get a reaction take 2-3 Benadryl first as the more often you have the reaction the worse it will get. Idk if that's true but I have epi-pens now and a funny story about my first MCAT😅
Food was all stored in these crappy lockers that had open air flow so my lunch and snacks were exposed to whomever brought shrimp. Bringing better containers next time.
1:28 How interesting.. my little sister always gets these crazy hives and huge bumps whenever she drys off after playing in any natural body of water. (Not pools, or bathtubs, only lakes/beaches) We still have absolutely zero idea what causes that either
Could be something in the water that’s only found in natural water
(My older brother was allergic to something produced by plants that live in and near bodies of water). Or the cold/ quick temperature change. (Which was the case for me)
I've always hated cherries and so I'd never really eat them until 2 days ago, my mum bought some and I thought: "Well might as well have some since they're here." Ate them and my throat got itchy and tight, lip started swelling up and overall, I felt terrible. Found out later that I was allergic to cherries 😀
that happened to me!! and cherries taste really good in my opinion too 👁💧👄💧👁
Similar things happened when I was 5. But instead of cherries, it was pistachios(and I think other tree nuts) but I was forced to eat them-
Ripe cherries are the bomb! But if you're in a tropical country then yeah, they taste like poopy.

As someone who suffers from heat-induced urticaria, I resonate with Jaiden's experience on a deep emotional level.
i feel you bro
yes, i also relate.
I have the opposite. Cold urticaria.
I have this too, the worst part about it is when you get embarrassed so you get flushed then you just start breaking out and then the anxiety causes it to happen even more. Life is hard..
Yeah, I get that too, but if I take allergy meds before doing something hot, it mostly doesn’t bother me too much.
Oh hey! Mike mentioned what I have! Cellulitis! (Which I’ve had for almost years and hasn’t gone away, I’ve been on low grade antibiotics for months. Anti-bacterial wipes are my best friend.)
This summer I discovered I was allergic to penicillin after having a pretty horrendous allergic reaction, and let me just say, she's NOT overdramatizing the pain
Mike: Parakeets have Chlamydia
Me: Thank you for crushing all of my hopes and dreams.

Hello Doctor Mike! I’ve had Chronic Urticaria for two years and my doctors are only prescribing me with cortisol cream and Desloratadine and they’re not doing away. Is there a chance that I’m never going to get rid of them? What should I do?
I dunno where you live, and am.not a medical expert, but you could ask and see if there are other options (maybe even experimental stuff, in lqter stages of trials).
It might also be an option to change main doctor and ask the new one if they can please figure out why the hell you have this issue (my skin issues never got better from creams, for YEARS, but DID get better immediately once they realized i had lupus and medicated me for it. Turns out my garbage skin issues were a symptom of the lupus. Your thing might be a symptom of something else, who knows?)
We need more videos of you reacting to more storytime animators and their helth scares. Haminations?
Doctor Mike getting a highlighter for Christmas reminds me of that vine where the kid gets an avocado and is grateful for it
In the old time kids would get an orange and be happy about it.

I think you should react to Disney medical scenes because there's a lot of Disney scenes where people get hurt and almost die. Esmerelda when she inhales the smoke, Megara being crushed by a pillar, Mulan getting stabbed, and ect.
I haven't gotten this much attention on a comment of mine!
Tysm :)
Oooh that sounds like an interesting idea!
Interesting~
To be fair Meg did die. She just got revived by a god.
@@trparnell87 Oh yeah I forgot about that👍🏻
Lol the Megara one is kinda silly tho. You may have given her her spirit back but her body is still crushed as that hydra.
Is it just me or Mike’s eyes kept changing from gray to green to blue throughout the video 😭
This is exactly what I needed, WE NEED MORE ANIMATION REACTIONS FROM DOCTOR MIKE
Jaden watching this video: "I did nOt need to know this much detail"
"Your brain might die" LOL

"What's wrong with me doc?"
"Yeah we have absolutely no clue."
It sounds to me like her immune system was jumpy, her skin got scratched a little by Ari, then her immune system started attacking the skin in the area, which then spread all over her body. So in this case it would be inflammation on the skin, but not extending to the throat because that’s a different kind of tissue.
Not an expert, I just watch a lot of videos.
Cool, now do the odd ones out
Fellas, now this is a reaction video, not just staring at the screen or yelling in excitement even tho you arent
@Eric Lee yeah its all for views, mostly little kids get excited along with them if the youtuber yells enough
Only a minute in and I learned a few things, mostly that Dr Mike was born in Russia. Why didn't I notice before
Dr kolleshnikov lol
Me neither Im quite surprised!
If you watch his earlier videos he touches up on his heritage and family history.
Wait. Wh at .???
Right. He even looks russian too

Now that is fun. When my brother and I were about eight or nine years old we kept asking our parents for markers and sketch pads for Christmas. By the time we were thirteen years old my Father insisted that we ask for something else, like a NES.
