Man that was stupid how it used to work. One-Hit KO moves were very rare as is and they do not hit too often. Glad they gave it the buff for any move that would ordinary one shot it sturdy will prevent (especially since most Pokemon with Sturdy are Rock/Ground times and are 4x weak to both Grass and Water, two of the most common types to encounter in the series

Nostalgic me wants to say it sucks that they got rid of the game corner, but 15-Years-Later-Rational-Adult me thinks maybe it was for the best 😂
I've never even used them in my games, never had the patience. But it feels like a missed opportunity, the game corner always had such good tms and in kanto they had pokemon. Kind of wish they had something like that in their place. But it's always kind of funny to see what the remakes replace the game corner with.
I usually go with Jolteon with Pin Missile. It's been a long time since FRLG for me so my most recent playthroughs are for BRY and the Jolteon having high Special helps it tank the Psychic hits a lot better.
I'm pretty sure Koga's gym was supposed to be more about status conditions than the type specialty. I could be wrong, tho since his team was full poison, as were most of the gym trainers. That would be a cool redesign concept for his gym for when we inevitably revisit Kanto for the hundredth time
They did this in Let's Go. Koga's Gym Trainers usually have Poison-Types with Toxic and Protect for stall strats, but Koga's team can be easily beaten regardless.

I completely agree that he shouldn't have used flamethrower, and yes bite has slightly list power than dig but it has the bonus of being super effective.
Whenever I (try to) play a Nuzlocke, I always make a 'Dead Pokémon' box. I put the heaven-like background and I revive the Pokémon before putting them there. If they're dead, I want them to feel comfortable.
Speaking from personal experience here, snorlax could have swept sabrina’s entire gym practically. from the moment of capture. If it was level 34 going into the gym, he would have had no problems if he used it by itself.
Or he could have had actually leveled Pokemon lmao. Man knew this was a nuzlocke but still thought it was a good idea to go up against SABRINA OF ALL PEOPLE while severely underleveled. I struggle to see how this is the the same person who beat Gen 3 which just Mudkip.

I always do the "Nuzlocke doesn't begin until you have Pokeballs" rule because not having that rule just wastes time in the beginning of the game, especially for Sun and Moon playthroughs where the beginning is so unbearably long.
Just finished my first nuzloke about a week ago, since Sword was pretty easy the first time around. I lost 17 out of my 38 pokemon. Now, I’m doing a run where I can catch whatever I want; but I have to retire my current team after each gym badge.
I quit my Sword nuzlocke bc my only solution to Kabu was my drizille, Cyrus. But he and 2 other pokemon died to Nessa. Literary almost anything else I had was weak to fire
2:50 I agree. Bulbasaur is the best in playthrough. Leech seed and sleep powder combo can be really useful if you don't have many pokemon left and can be clutch. And it also has a great mach up against most of the trainers
nuzlocke is kinda different, most of the time you want the fire starter bc fire type is scarce in nuzlockes and you really want that coverage, so in this case charmander is a better pick

@@urkerab It depends on the TM. Some like shockwave, or ariel ace you're fine using whenever. You should save the stronger ones like earthquake and flamethrower at the Elite 4 so they aren't wasted. This game is interested as you can buy TMs like brick break and dig at the department store. So I'd recommend teaching those to any Pokemon that can learn them.

I always do the "Nuzlocke doesn't begin until you have Pokeballs" rule because not having that rule just wastes time in the beginning of the game, especially for Sun and Moon playthroughs where the beginning is so unbearably long.
Also,Crits in the first battle are pretty frustrating
So are Sword and Shield playthroughs. Just _let me play the game, dammit!_

Just finished my first nuzloke about a week ago, since Sword was pretty easy the first time around. I lost 17 out of my 38 pokemon. Now, I’m doing a run where I can catch whatever I want; but I have to retire my current team after each gym badge.

I quit my Sword nuzlocke bc my only solution to Kabu was my drizille, Cyrus. But he and 2 other pokemon died to Nessa. Literary almost anything else I had was weak to fire

I agree. Bulbasaur is the best in playthrough. Leech seed and sleep powder combo can be really useful if you don't have many pokemon left and can be clutch. And it also has a great mach up against most of the trainers
nuzlocke is kinda different, most of the time you want the fire starter bc fire type is scarce in nuzlockes and you really want that coverage, so in this case charmander is a better pick

@@urkerab It depends on the TM. Some like shockwave, or ariel ace you're fine using whenever. You should save the stronger ones like earthquake and flamethrower at the Elite 4 so they aren't wasted. This game is interested as you can buy TMs like brick break and dig at the department store. So I'd recommend teaching those to any Pokemon that can learn them.

well he doesn't really need their answer. reacting to their content is under fair use because he's adding commentary to the video. so even if they didn't want him to make it, there's nothing they could legally do about it. he's just nice enough to ask beforehand, whilst most people who do react content don't bother contacting the creators about it
