21:42. At that spot in the original Alpharad perfection video, where Alpha copies Jan's best-of-the-best, I sat through that section thinking to myself "Huh, Alpharad seems oddly low energy and unenthusiastic/dead inside for this part of the video. Wonder why." And now I know.
From the beginning of Alpharad’s RUclips career, many things have gone and passed. His content has changed over the years, and it feels good to be apart of that slow change. Though, I’ve finally noticed something about his content. There’s always something that has stayed exactly the same throughout the years. There is just one thing, and that is his motto: It’s not about winning…It’s about sending a MESSAGE
Alpharad, as a 7+ year dungeon master, I promise that you sharing and going into detail about that playlist of music you have for every single emotional moment you can think of would be single handedly the most kind gift to the adhd ridden dungeons and dragons nerds you could ever give us ❤
From most that I can recall, most of his music are these ones One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 or 3 - I WANT TO LIVE (That song with the epic trumpets) Kingdom Hearts BBS OST (forgot which world theme it was but it's the one who occasionally uses that features the plucky strings and wind instruments for the first bit) Trails in the Sky - Sophisticated Fight Jump Force loading music Xenoblade Zanza the Divine Xenoblade the Fog King Xenoblade 2 Medley Xenoblade Roaming the Wastes Persona 5 Mementos Persona 3 Dorm music Smash Bros OST Xenoblade VS. Moebius Nintendo Wii shop channel theme Miitopia battle theme His outro is an original song that I forgot the name of, but it was inspired by his old outro where he used the instrumental version of The Stars and Us (P5's original credits song) Hope this helps with spicing up your D&D music!
Alpharad also uses a lot of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon music for emotional moments, especially recently. For example, at about 7:08 the song playing is from PMD Explorers of Sky. I think it's either Never Forget, or I Don't Want To Say Goodbye. Either way, great songs and (in my opinion) great games. The songs were done with the DS soundfont in mind, but you can find a lot of midis and other conversions/covers of the songs on youtube to fit more into a playlist of music.
Agreed, he used to put playlists in his description and it was fantastic for finding new music, a shame he doesn’t do it anymore but I suppose it might be for copyright or something.

This video has the amazing ability of not feeling 30 minutes long. It's punchy, hits all the important points, reveals behind the scenes info, is funny and is just generally very carefully made and I give mad props to the 'rad man. Top quality stuff.
The whole running gag halfway through of using the sans fight to passive aggressively say “Pokémon is not a good barometric for measuring video game skill” is hilarious to me
I'll give Alpha credit for talking about how boring and skippable Jan's ads are, explains that you need excitement in your voice like this as for example, then gives the ad. Like not only did he make his point, but he got me to actually not skip through this random mobile game ad just to pay attention to how he uses his voice.
Ngl, even though I agree that Jan has boring ad reads, Alpha's ads are hardly the pinnacle of excitement either. He sounds like a guy doing a generic ad read that he's pretty good at pretending to be interested in.
Moves it to Alphard deluxe, every video he just adds another friend to join in on Bullying Jan. Eventually he brings Jan on, puts one of his video thumbnails in the thumbnail. They play Mario party
btw, i know it's a bit silly, but thanks for clarifying that this is just a friendly rivalry and it's good for content! it's always good to hear it from the source, even if at points it might seem obvious to some.
Yeah... with the huge following Alpharad has, he kinda has no choice but to point it out. When Pewdiepie and Jacksfilms started jokingly trashtalking to each other without the former clarifying it, it didn't end well. Although the latter did make a video to laugh at the hate comments that he got, so I guess he made the best out of the situation in the end. Jan probably wouldn't have enough patience to deal with that, though. He spent all the patience he ever had in his life on trying to Nuzlocke Emerald Kaizo.
It feels so brutal to actually hear Alpharad tell people how and why they are bad at making RUclips videos, I’ve been watching Alpharad since “HOW TO PLAY JIGGLYPUFF 101” and _never_ once seen him do that. Like ouch man
Jan can talk about himself being good at nuzlocks and other people being bad all he wants, but alpha just cut him at his core existence on the internet and that’s something Jan can’t recover from
I remember watching a recursive reaction video loop where Jesse Cox and Crendor got about 6-7 layers deep of reactions. It started with Crendor making some blog style videos, then Jesse made reaction video to a group of them, then Crendor made a reaction to Jesse's reaction video, then Jesse made a reaction to Crendor's reaction, and so on for several videos. It was quite scuffed by the end because each reaction added another person taking and responding to the previous versions and also another face cam that needed to be moved around on the screen during the video
I hope this becomes an ongoing series were once a month they react back and forth. Until eventually the original video is completely lost. Like a video version of 2 mirrors facing each other.
Hearing about the whole writing process of the videos is truly interesting. It's not just about throwing jokes around, it's really thought through, beginning to end, with twists and stuff. You never cease to amaze me dude
I like that Alpha jabs at the ad in the beginning for poor viewer retention, takes a jab at the ad read to segway into an ad read right in the beginning of the video. That meta humor after the reaction to the call to action stealing bit is probably so incredible
Jacob is so much better at writing scripts that even his reaction videos have a compelling emotional arc about whether or not Jan is subscribed to him... (now the question is did he make that up for content too?) (...my head is starting to hurt...)
I love coming back to these videos and watching how you guys just try to dunk on each other (in good sport ofc). It’s been really cool seeing both yours and Jaiden’s relationships with Jan evolve from “wtf is this person?” To friends who milk each other’s videos for content.

21:42. At that spot in the original Alpharad perfection video, where Alpha copies Jan's best-of-the-best, I sat through that section thinking to myself "Huh, Alpharad seems oddly low energy and unenthusiastic/dead inside for this part of the video. Wonder why." And now I know.
Alpharad: "You ever want people to feel sad - just play Don't Ever Forget."
Literally every PMD player: **Emotional Damage**
Jan: **Doesn't care**
Well you can't Nuzlock PMD
Every goddamn time. Also whenever anyone uses N's Farewell
Of all the back and forth jabs at eachother, I love how it was the response to the one at 23:13 that caught him so horribly off guard and cut deep.
From the beginning of Alpharad’s RUclips career, many things have gone and passed. His content has changed over the years, and it feels good to be apart of that slow change. Though, I’ve finally noticed something about his content. There’s always something that has stayed exactly the same throughout the years. There is just one thing, and that is his motto:
It’s not about winning…It’s about sending a MESSAGE
Alpharad, as a 7+ year dungeon master, I promise that you sharing and going into detail about that playlist of music you have for every single emotional moment you can think of would be single handedly the most kind gift to the adhd ridden dungeons and dragons nerds you could ever give us ❤
From most that I can recall, most of his music are these ones
One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 or 3 - I WANT TO LIVE (That song with the epic trumpets)
Kingdom Hearts BBS OST (forgot which world theme it was but it's the one who occasionally uses that features the plucky strings and wind instruments for the first bit)
Trails in the Sky - Sophisticated Fight
Jump Force loading music
Xenoblade Zanza the Divine
Xenoblade the Fog King
Xenoblade 2 Medley
Xenoblade Roaming the Wastes
Persona 5 Mementos
Persona 3 Dorm music
Smash Bros OST
Xenoblade VS. Moebius
Nintendo Wii shop channel theme
Miitopia battle theme
His outro is an original song that I forgot the name of, but it was inspired by his old outro where he used the instrumental version of The Stars and Us (P5's original credits song)
Hope this helps with spicing up your D&D music!
I’m just commenting so I can find this again. I fiend for all music I can find to add to my DnD playlists and just listen to. Mad respect to everyone that helps others out on that cause.
@@euthmyiviridian may I reccomend music from the Xeno series? Specifically the ones from Tetsuya Takahashi's works? The series has produced nothing but bangers in both battle and environmental music
Alpharad might not always do the best read in Pokemon, but damn he reads Jan like a book. The amount of reads he pointed out that got the exact reaction he predicted is pretty insane
Well he's not a good youtuber, all of his videos have the exact same format. The only time he does something actually surprising is when he makes a joke.
Alpharad has also watched all these vidoes before. We see that in his video before about the 'perfect' nuzlocke when he takes various clips and snippets of advice from the Pokemon Challenges videos.
Edit: Nevermind, I got the part of the video you were talking about.
@@flint9759 I was about to go to bed can you simplify this?
@@vidar_kensei7446 I was responding to Mathias more than you. The point was Alpharad isn't predicting what Jan is about to say, he's already seen it. However, I was wrong. I misunderstood what Mathias was saying.
@@vidar_kensei7446 eh ... That's one type of video he does....he has a lot of other content lmao. Alpha is funny as fuck, but so is Jan to me - moreso dry humor, but to each their own
Honestly, I'm so glad you are both getting so much content out of this "rivalry" because the videos are super entertaining to watch on both sides.
Its so fun to see Alpharad discovering German 'humor' and dry sarcasm
As a German I can say, our repertoire of jokes is gigantic and filled with pages.
Sadly it isn't funny.
@@mlgkid3298 strangely, your coment was
I love how wrong ppl pronounce Jan...
What do you mean "humor" why is it in quotations? Are you implying that germans dont have a sense of Humor...
cuz if so you might be correct
our humor is quick and efficient, the exact opposite of our bureaucracy
“When you want people to cry in a Pokémon video, play Don’t Ever Forget”
Truly a master of emotional manipulation
Truly...
Truly...
Truly…
The Sans twist was unexpected, but by god did it make me laugh
Edit: And honestly, his face at 19:12 is perfect
"Alpharad is so much better than me but I'll get there"
"Maybe"
that absolutely killed me💀
The knowledge that he lost on purpose makes it infinitely funnier
9:52 "me lying to you doesn't break trust if you don't know I'm lying" 😂
I am so happy I discovered you through your Sonic Boom play through, you are honestly so fun to watch and your presentation is genuinely amazing. Your comedic timing is like a gift from the gods you are so entertaining, I honestly cant stress enough how good your presentation is
Whew. We have found that one viewer that got here through a sonic video! That's amazing!
This video has the amazing ability of not feeling 30 minutes long. It's punchy, hits all the important points, reveals behind the scenes info, is funny and is just generally very carefully made and I give mad props to the 'rad man. Top quality stuff.
There is something incredibly powerful about the double stare-into-the-camera with the gastly being named Comedy
23:17
Never talk to me or my son ever again
The whole running gag halfway through of using the sans fight to passive aggressively say “Pokémon is not a good barometric for measuring video game skill” is hilarious to me
running on pure comedic faith that he actually just unsubscribes every time he does a reaction and then once the camera is off he resubscribes
The biggest tragedy out of all of this is Jan *STILL* didn't sub even after 3 reactions!
That's probably his ace in the hole.
I'll give Alpha credit for talking about how boring and skippable Jan's ads are, explains that you need excitement in your voice like this as for example, then gives the ad.
Like not only did he make his point, but he got me to actually not skip through this random mobile game ad just to pay attention to how he uses his voice.
@@erikteutloff2183 pokemon challenges alt is seething
Ngl, even though I agree that Jan has boring ad reads, Alpha's ads are hardly the pinnacle of excitement either. He sounds like a guy doing a generic ad read that he's pretty good at pretending to be interested in.
To each their own. I personally really enjoy Jan's ads
something tells me that this is eventually going to become an infinite loop
I agree Basil pfp User
BASEDil
Moves it to Alphard deluxe, every video he just adds another friend to join in on Bullying Jan. Eventually he brings Jan on, puts one of his video thumbnails in the thumbnail. They play Mario party
@@linkscarlet9094 oh my god, that'd be absolutely beautiful
Hello fellow basil pfp
I just realized that the reason Jacob sounded so bored reading the sponsor for the perfect nuzlocke was just to mimic Jan, well played.
btw, i know it's a bit silly, but thanks for clarifying that this is just a friendly rivalry and it's good for content! it's always good to hear it from the source, even if at points it might seem obvious to some.
Yeah... with the huge following Alpharad has, he kinda has no choice but to point it out.
The biting the hand that feeds was an incredible tweet, had chuckling
Watching Alpha and Jan's rivalry is like watching the class clown fight the class nerd-
“Comedy is hard, you can’t solve it with a math problem”
That’s Awesome
It feels so brutal to actually hear Alpharad tell people how and why they are bad at making RUclips videos, I’ve been watching Alpharad since “HOW TO PLAY JIGGLYPUFF 101” and _never_ once seen him do that. Like ouch man
Jan can talk about himself being good at nuzlocks and other people being bad all he wants, but alpha just cut him at his core existence on the internet and that’s something Jan can’t recover from
@@donovanjoseph737 Jan's fully aware that Alpha's much better at video making than he is, pretty sure he's going to be fine.
I love how alpha doesn't even care about winning just about the funny. Alpha you truly deserve the internet funny man title
This rivalry is blossoming into RUclipss greatest bromance
Gotta love watching Alpharad reacting to Pro Pokemon Nuzlocker reacting to Alpharad
While Alpharad reacts to him reacting to himself
Yes
Content at its finest
They must continue the chain
Unto eternity
Big brain
@@shinyeeveelution789 but this Pokemon, not Yugioh.
I love that Alpharad makes the WWE content of Nuzlocks, and I totally haven't rewatched most of them multiple times
A lot of people react to reactions of their videos, but you are the one person where it 100% makes a good bit
The joy of knowing all future Nuzlocke videos are basically gonna get a second part of just this.
This man just basically decredits your entire nuzlocke lol
This is just going to turn into a infinite reaction loop, and I am all for it
I would watch every second of that.
“I can also only be funny when i’m bad at video games”
Biggest clap back of all time
“Every fight ends with Groudon” is one of my favorite of your jokes.
The pettiness and chaos (for content) is why you’re one of my favorite youtubers!
This feels like watching one of those cartoon slapfights and I am loving every minute of it.
I really like that you talked about your music choices because I recognize a lot of them and I feel validated
I'm glad Alpha came back with a "How to play someone like a fiddle 101"
Hearing about the whole writing process of the videos is truly interesting.
It's not just about throwing jokes around, it's really thought through, beginning to end, with twists and stuff.
You never cease to amaze me dude
Honestly your music choices in videos, including this one, are impeccable. You use so many great songs
(now the question is did he make that up for content too?)
(...my head is starting to hurt...)
Nope. it's actually in jans videos. Jan is just too based sigma to be subscribed to a small RUclipsr like alphard. ;)
@@janehrahan5116 alphard
I know what I said
19:00 I love how Alpharad just casually beat Sans in the middle of a react stream lmao.
23:20 YEAH JAN
14:10 The joke about the Pokemon Challenges watcher just learning that people can be funny fucking sent me, omg
i felt in my soul that this would happen one day and im glad it did
Sometimes, you gotta appreciate the “rivalries” and the “orchestral one piece openings” we made along the way.
Alpharad: Passive aggressive commentary
Jan: Straight up aggressive commentary
This is the most unexpected rivalry that only alpharad could make and i here for it
Same, this is too good
I love coming back to these videos and watching how you guys just try to dunk on each other (in good sport ofc). It’s been really cool seeing both yours and Jaiden’s relationships with Jan evolve from “wtf is this person?” To friends who milk each other’s videos for content.
