Before I state my opinion I just gotta say that I love how fast paced this video is with the editing. Meganium looks like just a walking vegetable to me so I totally understand why you'd want to eat it and Marill was literally a meat shield for a nuzlocke I did once so it definitely has puntable energy. I feel like I could kick it like a football and it'll smile all the way as it flew. If you felt nothing for Grovyle before (which I can't see how you wouldn't cuz he's so cool and has a laid back expression) Explorers will make you feel something. And that is a fact.
I like how each different gen has their own music instead of one continuous song. It really separates the generation and makes it special. It's very nostalgic.

the difference is a fish just flops around; which is funny and a bull is not and remoraid is just a fish....again....which is not funny magikarp also has splash(does nothing) and a funny gimmick where he learns nothing but tackle and flail at lvl 40 which is another gimmick that you can build a team around to sweep with a "useless" fish....which is funny (im not including egg moves or event moves, as funny as hyperbeam on karp is), magikarps shiny form is also really nice also if we're going to talk about just a fish...again....again, feebas circles around from being not funny to a pokemon i actively hate for being just another magikarp but worse(design wise) and only pick up purely cause i love milotic so much

Eevee becoming my absolute favorite pokemon snuck up on me. I've always liked it, but gen 6 rekindled a lot of that love through the amie. Seeing the other eevolutions there sold me on most of them. I used to like espeon more until I saw umbreon in Y. It's honestly very close between leafeon and umbreon being my favorite eevolutions.

It's crazy how experiences with a Pokemon can do a full 180 on your opinion of them. Like I could not care less about Mothim and Golduck before Legends Arceus but I found their shinies and got super attached to them. Hypothermia the shiny Golduck ended up being the most powerful member of my team.
Yeah, legends arceus really changed peoples thoughts on certain pokemon. Parasect is a perfect example. Most people didnt care for it but now most hate it and are terrified of it

Same thing happened with me and Drifloon in Pokemon Reborn, I reset on a certain event not liking the stats I got on it, and when I got into an encounter with them again, not only was it shiny, but it also came with pokerus, needless to say that I now value her just as much as my starter.

I also like the more lean and speed-oreiented 'mon, so Quilava, Pikachu, Sneazle, Buizel, etc are up there. Of course, Lucario, Lapras, Snorlax, Lopunny, Mawhile, Braixen, Torterra, Chespin, Emolga, Joltik, Staraptor, Sylveon, Luxray, Lillipup, Lunala, and Primarina, are up there as well.
Honestly, massive respect gained for Quilladin. I love the little lad. He's so goofy and the amount of hate he got just made me love him even more than I previously did.

Happy to see Avalugg get some love in this list, personally they're in my top 10 through sheer audacity alone being able to tank physical hits better than *fucking Steelix* for no good reason. I love my ice table. Also, if you care for competitive singles in any way, to those disappointed by Vikavolt's lack of speed I highly recommend running a defensive spread with Volt Switch, Bug Buzz, Roost and your choice of Sticky Webs, Toxic or Thunder Wave. It does especially well in Gen 8 OU for some reason. Personally I landed on an ev spread of 88 HP 196 Def and 224 Sp.atk with a Modest or Bold Nature, but I've gotten mileage out of 252 HP and def with 4 in Sp.atk with a Bold nature especially as a Kartana switch-in as Kart does ~20-30% max or ~50-60% once with knock off and you ohko with bug buzz unless they're either focus sash or assault vest, which they're probably not.
I love that he generally ranked every pokemon subjectively on how much he likes them, and then ranked azelf based on its extremely good niche in gen 4 singles very-lead-inclined meta
My appreciation for Sawk and Throh skyrocketed once I realized their patterns look like quilting, implying their names reference sock puppets and throw pillows in addition to their fighting styles.
Remoraid was originally meant to be drawn like a hand gun but got modded because it's a children's game and then Octillery was meant to have a general helmet and be in a lil tank. They would have been so coooool.

Also, if you care for competitive singles in any way, to those disappointed by Vikavolt's lack of speed I highly recommend running a defensive spread with Volt Switch, Bug Buzz, Roost and your choice of Sticky Webs, Toxic or Thunder Wave.
It does especially well in Gen 8 OU for some reason.
Personally I landed on an ev spread of 88 HP 196 Def and 224 Sp.atk with a Modest or Bold Nature, but I've gotten mileage out of 252 HP and def with 4 in Sp.atk with a Bold nature especially as a Kartana switch-in as Kart does ~20-30% max or ~50-60% once with knock off and you ohko with bug buzz unless they're either focus sash or assault vest, which they're probably not.
