Simple enough. I’m an American that grew up with a father that was a diesel mechanic for Dodge. I’ve built a few GM and Dodge pickups. I do 100% of the maintenance on my vehicles(GM and Dodge/Ram pickups) and have since I was 16(I’m 30 now). My coworker owns a 2005 mini that is unfortunately falling apart and I’m trying to save it. My hands, arms, and 6’1” 200lbs body struggle to work on it because of all the tight spots. It’s been one of my biggest challenges, but amongst it’s problems and pissing me off, I’ve been growing to really like the Mini. Might buy one for myself.
Just what I needed. Body panel for dummies.. the PO apparently got in a fender bender and looks like he put it back together with zip ties.. Now I know what's missing. Thanks
@@L663 the adjustment bit was critical - our 06 R52 had had a gentle nudge from someone and the offside panel gap was huge between bonnet and bumper - now fixed without needing to go to a dealer - ta!
I’m sure you already found your answer but two years later, I was asking the same thing. The answer is an 8mm and the best way to access that is to have the wheels turned to one direction. Either is fine as youll have easy access on both sides after turning the wheel
Thanks, really helpful vid especially the adjustable bumper plate. Adjusted mine today and have a much better fit now. Keep up your very informative and helpful mini vids
Good tutorial. I loosen the 3 10mm bolts instead of the 7 cross-head screws - that brings the lower plastic skid/air dam together with the bumper and would seem to be fewer fasteners to require removal.
Bookmarked :) I need to take the front facia off so I can swap out the lower grill, also easier to work on adding the CF lip. Great post, and had no idea about the adjustment plates, bonus.
I've ripped my front bumper off the clips on the body have all snapped I got stuck on a manhole with something sticking up I reversed and it ripped the bumper from the loft passenger's side HELP PLEASE
Very nice video thanks mate! I have a little question.. Is it possible to chance the 5W bulbs in the side light indicator assembly without removing the front bumper? Or is it necessary? Thanks mate!
hi there does anyone know the proper name for the 2 bumper height adjusters i have a cracked one and need to replace it but dont know what its called to search on ebay
Hi - check out this link www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=RA11-EUR-02-2002-R50-Mini-One_14i&diagId=41_1369 I think it is item 6 you need PN 51717039262 They seem to come as a pair.
The socket required to remove the bumper within the wheel arch is 8mm. I also found it was easier to turn the wheel to give better access to the bolt and then a standard socket size extension bars can be used.

Hi what size are the bolts that hold the sides of front bumper on that you have to access under the wheel arch thank you
I’m sure you already found your answer but two years later, I was asking the same thing. The answer is an 8mm and the best way to access that is to have the wheels turned to one direction. Either is fine as youll have easy access on both sides after turning the wheel

Not sure if you or anyone else can reply, does the bumper have to come off to be able to adjust or realign the plate as described at 8.05?
Thanks a lot, very useful for the job I'm going to do
