if you have problems with the lower grill snap in clips not staying in place, a tip I used was to use a heat gun and gently bend the clips out, so they apply more pressure in the slots. Worked for me so far.

Thank you for this excellent video. I’m doing it and a full dechrome on Saturday and I’m just reminding my self. I have Gen 1 R50 Mini Cooper John Cooper Works. Converted at John Cooper Garages just before they sold out to BMW.

With the grill I bought the lower part didn’t match up with the clips

Now that you have the new grill mask off the bottom of the car and spray the large lower grill to match
