The irony here is both sides have the perfect counter to their nemesis. Eggman actually uses strategy and forethought in his plans so Mario can't just abuse poorly picked terrain and trap set up like he does with Bowser, and Bowser kills on physical contact so Sonic can't beat him since his only form of attack is charging/jumping at the enemy which makes contact
Mario: Anti-beast human with tools
Bowser: Melee-specialised beast
Sonic: Anti-tool melee beast
Robotnik: Tool-specialised human
Antagonists are good at dealing with their own kind
Protagonists are good at taking initiative and forcing antag into protag's fighting style
This stops working when antag is not only on par, but leagues better at protag's own style of fighting

I love how Mario and Eggman just have a decent conversation, then when Mario admits his strategy, he gets Indiana Jones’d.
Mario can punch through solid brick just by eating mushrooms, has a 20ft vertical that crushes his enemies, can tame fire and ice magic, and has access to a multitude of magical furry costumes.
He's essentially a demigod.

The creative writing in these videos is phenomenal. Kudos to the writers. I wish I had the imagination to come up with stuffs like that. Excellent Job.
Based on what Eggman has built in the past, he's got a significant edge here. I mean, not many folk can successfully create machines capable of universal destruction, let alone multiversal destruction. Granted his first multiversal machine took a second Eggman to help build, and another an ancient entity to build, but besides that, Eggman can create some serious heat if he finds the materials to do so, and boy does he.
Super Mario Galaxy 1 ends with Bowsers Galaxy Reactor blowing up, and causing a black hole that was going to destroy the universe. The little lumas all flew into it to reset the universe. Bowser then tries nearly the same plan in Galaxy 2. Ultimately the Galaxy machines he makes are supposed to create a new galaxy under his control. He's actually has godly tech in those games.

I seem to recall catching a glimpse of a show once years ago, can't recall which one, but I think the idea was (at least in part) that vampires were real and had decided as a global community to (re-?)reveal themselves to the world. In line with that, national representatives of the world's vampire communities were giving interviews, and the reporter interviewing the American vampire lady wanted to know how accurate our pop-culture idea of vampiric strengths and weaknesses was, something like "Could you be killed by, like, garlic, or a stake to the heart?"

Mario invented the spin-jump in Super Mario World against spikes, allthough they only work on enemy spikes, not on pointy objects that are part of the landscape.
Mario still couldn't be defeated if Bowser looked back, he'd just grab his Tail and hurl him into a Spiked Explosive.
That is because he’s not utilizing battle moves that would basically force mario into the spikes. The simple thing to do: throw himself backwards at Mario. Mario either dodges or gets impaled. Masters it to where, even in a miss, bowser rolls onto his feet, mario can’t grab his tail.

I think the person Bowser is really trying to entertain is himself. He has been loosing to the same damn plumber for god knows how many years, he is just looking for some way to make it more interesting, to add colors to his life. We're here for you Bowser.
It makes sense. In the first game he just spat fire at Mario and then in 3 the tried to squish him. Those seemed pretty simple and he still lost.
Bowser uses Peach to entertain himself every time he kidnaps her. Don't pretend like he doesn't, and she doesn't let herself get kidnapped just for it...
You know what the real kicker is? Mario, Peach, and Bowser are a Throuple. It's all just role play. One's a king, one's a princess, and the other is a handyman - they're really just kinky people who take shrooms and get freaky.

There are ways for mario to beat bowser without bowser sabotaging himself in most circumstances, but bowser almost always makes it easier to defeat him

He can also kick an entire fortress filled with Bowser’s minions inside of it like it was a soccer ball. Also, technically, he’s survived a lot of crazy shit that one wouldn’t be able to realistically, such as jumping 3 feet above the sun, falling from space to a planet at a decently accelerated speed and surviving, being caught on fire, and all sorts of stuff. In fact, there’s a few videos going into how truly terrifying Mario is if you take the stuff he’s been able to do seriously. So, he’s actually a lot cooler than one would initially realize.

Bowser absolutely needs his own series like Sonic4Hire, Morty Kombat, and MegaMan Dies At The End. This Bowser is the most enjoyable portrayal to me.

Bowser's voice was the best.
Classic Mario would have such a difficult time in just about any Robotnik boss fight, if only just because Mario is limited to jumping on top of enemies unless he has powerups. There are a few that would be downright impossible without a star.
While Mario was taking on Bowser in his flying clown car, Sonic was going against his robot doppelganger and a giant mech, all without a single ring.
Even when Bowser went right at Mario in Mario 1 & 3 he set up his final batte in an environment that led to his downfall. He just needs to simplify: be a giant, spikey turtle on stable ground.

I am going to love Jack Black Bowser, but British Bowser will always be my number one.

Yeahhhh, they've gotten pretty stupid with their calculations over the years. I still like the series, but they've deviated from their original method, which was to not assume characters can match the feats of others they defeat and not taking single cinematic scenes and basing a character's strength around it.

Bowser’s monologue at the end just makes me think of the Mega Man fandom’s “Spiked Wall Man” running gag. It’s really surprising just how many Mario Bosses are beaten because of either the arena favoring Mario, or them just being really stupid and not learning to not use certain attacks.
You know... Bowser actually said some pretty important life advice: Don't do things more difficult for you just because you're trying to please or entertain others. Just keep it simple.

What people don’t realize is that Mario can jump farther (when running is not possible) and more carefully than sonic. It has been proven in New Super Mario Bros that Mario can jump over Dry Bowser if Dry Bowser doesn’t jump.
