  • Learn the Reclined Twist Yoga Pose with Adriene as part of the Foundations of Yoga Series. Great for beginners! This reclined pose has many benefits! It is so YUMMY for the spine and digestion. It is also a lovely way to release stress, tension and toxins from the body. This twist squeezes and stretches all the muscles and organs of the torso and even tones the core. Give it try and let me know what you think!

This foundations videos are saving my life, calmness and correctness is what I need, and this is the only way to achieve it. With these ones i realized that even corpse pose is demanding for me! So finally I'm able to be patient to calibrate the true extent of how much "work" my body is asking for.
Thank you Adriene, you are an angel.
Your spirit is the purest I've ever perceived though youtube, and well maybe even in "real life"

Feedback! I really enjoy Adriene's "Foundation Series". I'm relatively new to Adriene's yoga (April 2020) and these are so helpful. I'm learning the language of yoga! I come back to these quite often and celebrate my progress! :) This month of February I have been doing the "Bridge" with everyone and following it with the the Foundations! For example, today I reviewed this reclined twist (#13) on day 13 of the Bridge! Thank you Adriene!

Day 140 (part 2!) of the current run - reclined twist is one of my absolute favorite things in yoga, though I prefer it with the bottom leg extended. I end every day with it, it feels soooo good.

Good morning 🙏 Haven't been to early morning foundations class in a while. Haha.
So I realize that I wasn't being mindful of my shoulders much when doing these poses and was all about getting that stretch in the lower back. Sending the intention through the shoulders really transformed this stretch and allows me to expand the principle of rooting from my feet to actually different areas of the body. Namaste.

I'm currently doing Sarah Bowman's November 2016 FWFG calendar. I can already feel the benefits of committing to an everyday practice :D I mostly use the Yoga for Healing playlist, but I'm slowly discovering the foundations series and it's like magic!
I am having some issues keeping my palms and wrists flush with the floor in this twist, but I'm sure that as I practice more, my fingers will get used to stretching this way. Thanks Adriene!

Hello! Really enjoying using your videos to learn yoga during this quarantine time. Question - would putting a cushion or something underneath my hips ruin this pose? Because when I rotate it really hurts my back iliac crest bone (I think - it’s around my hips but not my tail bone lol). Thanks!

I have a left hip injury, actually my femur was broken at the top and ended up a bit shorter than the other. I was supposed to swim yesterday - actually the day before! - but there were maintenance issues. Sitting at the laptop for many hours doesn't help. The twist worked out the kinks, needed the left side more than the other

Hi, I started doing yoga with your channel and from your first video a few days ago. I have been tried some yoga apps but they are not that much explanatory. I should thank to you. About this pose (reclined twist) I have a question. Should the knees are exactly on top of each other? My shoulders touch the ground but the above knee comes a few cantimeters back. So, my lower back cannot stand perpendicular to the ground. When I try to equalize my knees than my shoulder comes up and never goes back again to the ground. Where am I making the mistake? :D
