I tend to turn to yoga alot when I'm anxious, depressed, etc. (as well as tight) and so by extension I end up turning to your videos in times of need, it wasn't purposeful, I literally just youtubed "yoga for anxiety" and stumbled upon it. You've weirdly talked me through breakdowns, breakups, deaths, and long days in general, so just wanted to say thank you, love the subtle bits of humor and your constant reminders of "letting go"

I need to take a moment to say that I have had frozen shoulders for about 4 years from working in pipefitting. And about a year of recurring neck immobility and pain where my right shoulder would turn into a rock and go into spasm.
I practically cured it with this routine. At one point I was letting my arms down and my shoulders let out an otherworldly amount of cracks as if they JUST released all of the tension they’ve been carrying the past 4 years. It feels incredible and I have only you to thank. My wife is a HUGE fan and she told me to try this. So glad I did. Thank you so much. You’re a fantastic human.

I have had frozen shoulder in both shoulders now. 2 years apart. Now I am dealing with tendinitis in one shoulder. So going to try this. I've been doing her 30 days this month and doing fine since I had a cortisone shot in my arm, but it wore off this past weekend and so sore when holding my arm over my head at an angle. So disappointing! Wanted to finish this month pain free! So taking it easy with the routines and doing what I can do. I'll definitely be doing this for neck and shoulders! Great to read your comment and know I'm not alone with this!!

Today I was desperate to try anything to avoid a visit to the ER. My pain was at a level 10+. I'm under pain management, nothing is working, and the ER was going to charge me a huge co pay for short term relief. So I did what I could in the video and now I'm crying because my pain has significantly decreased to a 6/7. I'm giving myself an hour and trying this routine again. I wish you could feel what I feel right now.

I'm having a weird pain going throw my body effecting my left ribs amd my right kidney. I had neck surgery 13 years ago. I am now suspecting my nerves in my neck are affecting my ribs and organ disfunction after they checked my organs my blood and that I have no kidney stone to obstruct my kidney. They are all baffled and are sending me for an MRI. I'm now wondering if the nerves in my neck where I had the surgery are causing all this and it makes me wonder if organ failure, in mysterious cases is directly related to that very thing.

That's sweet that you do exercise with your daughter. People underestimate how much stress & tension children can hold in their muscles because they are so resilient overall. I am aware of this because i remember when i was a kid i would give my parents v high quality massage & then when it was my turn they would always say i didn't need as much because i was still young. haha gdi. Actually, i think the amount of tension most adult humans hold in their bodies is probably to an unhealthy extreme that no animal was ever meant to reach.

Hi, Adrienne! I just realized while doing this workout that your constant reminders to tuck the hips, heart over hips, head over heart, and imagine that string pulling straight up is having a positive effect on my crumbling spine. I suffer from debilitating osteoarthritis in my spine, with bone spurs, crumbling vertebrae, and degenerative disc disease, with some locations completely missing discs. I had been limited to 2 hours of easy activities out of bed per day. By doing your gentle yoga a minimum of 3 times per week, more when able, I'm now able to manage 3 hours per day out of bed! Thank you so much for decreasing my pain, and for improving my health and my life! Soon I might be able to begin painting again or, dare I hope, to go out to lunch, shopping, or museums again! Maybe eventually back to work part time? Thanks for giving me back a little bit of a life! You are an angel!

I can’t thank you enough Adriene for this video, and many others! This one in particular has been a frequent companion for me the last year plus. I’ve been fighting and recovering from some nearly fatal blood infections the last 4 years, and the last 3 I have been 99% bed bound and often unable to even sit up. Most yoga is completely out of my realm of possibility, but on my good days I can do this whole routine in bed!! It’s SO healing and restorative for me, and I come back over and over! My muscles have atrophied horribly, and this helps me strengthen and restore my body’s alignment. I know I don’t know you, but I feel like you are a dear friend who comes to my house just to encourage and help me! Thank you SO much for putting out these videos, I am ever so grateful! 💗. Peace be with you my friend! Namaste!

Thank you Adriene! Your yoga videos here are a treasure trove to me. I do a lot of computer stuff and also my ADHD meds tend to lock up my shoulder and neck area whenever I pick them up after a break.
This sequence in particular has helped me a ton already. Today I've been feeling an impending migraine ramping up for hours already, and it immediately started subsiding after I did this lesson. Just water and this sequence!
It feels amazing to be able to intercept the escalation this way, and forgo a bunch of liniments and pills and hours of drowsy misery trying to sleep it away once it hits full force.
So thank you so much. It feels like you're offering me a present every time I tune in.

I am still having these neck pain episodes. I work in an office and I tend to sleep in unhealthy positions at night, but when I do these exercises, the tension is completely gone within a day or two and it has become less since I do them on a regular basis. That is groundbreaking, for years I had this back pain every 2 or 3 weeks, always in the same spot and I just thought that I need to wait and it will dissolve by itself. I was stupid....

I’ve had a rough couple of weeks with heightened anxiety and I kept feeling like my neck stiffness was related to that. Day 11 of Courage today and this was so gentle but just right and I was holding a lot more tension in my shoulders and neck than I thought. I was talking to a friend the other day about styles of practice and we differed in our opinions when she said she loved a “brutal” practice. Now I LOVE yoga but I feel brutal should not be a word that one uses to describe it. Yes at times we push ourselves a little further but that should be mindful and as Adriene would say “what feels good”.
