- From Smackdown vs Raw 2009 until WWE 12, Road to WrestleMania was an amazing mode. Every year we got new storylines that somehow were better than the last. 4 games gave us 20 unique storylines. That to this day are amazing. From John Cena's in 2009 that brought us a brand new country, to Edge and Christian going back in time in SVR 2011. These storylines were just awesome. We had the first women's Royal Rumble, we had Chris Jericho destroy Triple H. We even had WCW come back. The storylines ranged from being over the top insane, to actually realistic. Making every story worth playing.
So lets go back to SVR 09, 10, 11 and WWE 12, and take a look back at The Best Road to WrestleMania Storylines in WWE Games

Christian’s rtw in 2011 was so wholesome, seeing him and edge pose with both world titles at mania. Rly shows how much the developers were just as big as fans as we were ;;

The 2011 Undertaker story is my favorite. The purple and twisted screen gave me legit nightmares, and on the first run I did I lost at Wrestlemania, which lead to even more nightmares. I thought my created character actually died lmao
What was the scene you had when you lost by Undertaker. Because I beat him using my Created Finisher and celebrate my victory while Undertaker leaves and lift his fist when he was in the stage

My favorite Road to Wrestlemanias were the following:
2009: Undertaker, John Cena and Chris Jericho.
2010: Brand Warfare, Created Superstar and Shawn Michaels.
2011: VS Undertaker, Christian and Chris Jericho (Triple H was on Hardcore mode when it came to difficulty in Jericho's story)
2012:....The whole freaking Road to Wrestlemania!

Man looking back svr10 had the best rtwm stories. Every single one is memorable. Big show actually booked like a threat, female royal rumble, mcmahon chicken dance, svr predicting legacy wm triple threat & hbk retiring. Really great stuff

Imo SVR 2011 definitely had the best RTWMs. My personal favorites were Mysterious and Undertaker’s. The other were good too but those two are unforgettable for me.

My favorites are from WWE SvR 2009 and WWE vs. WCW Invasion in WWE '12!
I loved the Randy Orton/ Legacy story from 2010. The Wrestlemania match ended up actually happening at WM26
My favorite one was Christian's road to wrestlemania because in the beginning he had a huge impact on ecw with its championship then after that he passes it because he get drafted to smackdown and reunite with his old pal edge and at the beginning I remember when they pranked us when edge said he wasn't gonna reunite with him because he had a dream to become a lone champion and a day later I was shocked and pranked when edge said that they fooled the player about them not being partners and Christian was confused and edge said you see that weirdo staring at us through the TV?. I honestly love the story 😁
I can't lie, the Triple H storyline from wwe 12 honestly caught me off guard, the ending even had me tearing up a bit. No doubt about it that's my favorite RTWM.
Cm Punks road to wrestlmania in Svr 09 was one of my favorites. I could play it over and over again.
Brand Warfare in SVR 10 and Jacob Cass in WWE 12 are my two all time favourite RTWM stories

The Jacob Cass story was something else man. How does a video game do the Invasion angle right, that's just amazing!
I love your idea about the throwback Road to WrestleManias. Perhaps they could do a massive redo of the 2001 Invasion with all of the WCW stars that the WWF could not get in real life and have it run until Mania 18. Another idea could be to do a story line with Stone Cold that starts off with his match vs. the Rock at Mania 17, but can branch off into two different paths depending on what the player chooses at the end of the match. The player could choose to shake hands with Vince and turn Stone Cold heel like what happened in real life, or the player can choose to do what Austin wishes he did in real life and stay face by giving McMahon the stunner to end Mania 17. It might be difficult to get some things down to a tee for a variety of reasons, but I love your idea for throwback Road to Wrestlemanias.
Probably my favorite Road to WrestleMania storyline has to be Chris Jericho’s from SvR 2009. I liked the whole mystery of it all playing it the first time through trying to figure out the identity of the Masked Man. I also enjoyed CM Punk’s in SvR 2009. That game in general is one of the best in my honest opinion. Lots of good memories playing that game.

My favorite one was the one in SVR 2010 when you won the royal rumble and went to WM vs Vince (maybe cuz it was the first one that I played) it played so cool, I could play it today and it still would be really enjoyable
SvR 2011 and WWE 12 are great because they were my first WWE games, so they hold a special place in my heart.
All the SvR 2011 Road to WrestleMania modes are great.
Jacob Cass's theme was fire and this story was way better than the real life invasion.
Rey Mysterio was a heel in both ECW and WCW.

SVR 09 Road to Wrestlemania hit different for me. Even though I loved 10 & 11 RTWM (Hated 12), 09 was just that superior game that everyone under estimates. Especially that Undertaker storyline, that was epic seeing Boogeyman return only to get clapped Lhh

For some reason the story I have the most fun with is Defeat the Undertaker. I remember picking Dolph Ziggler and just going at it.
Cena's rtw in svr 2011 was awesome,from being ejected from the royal rumble to getting arrested to betraying mvp. If cena and Orton's rivalry went like that in real life it would be incredible
The best one is randy orton on is svr 10 you get to play as a heel and dominate wwe like what he did in 2009
I know mycareer has been a flop overall, but 2k19 had a good career mode, Buzz's story was actually fun to play

Of the MyCareers, 19's was the best of the bunch.
- Play through a decent indy deal with Barron Blade running it. (Continuity, Blade is a staple of previous MyCareer modes.)
- Styles & Balor doing the BC thing. Right down to betraying you to become champ as Styles cashes in.
- Evolution reunites.
- Full throttle heel Triple H as the evil owner.
This was a pretty good storyline all told. I don't think 2K18 was all that bad either.

The Christian one from 2011 for me is the best. I was so happy to see Christian win the World title in 2011 and I thought that finally he will have a title reign and a great one... until Orton came out not too long after that to win it. Yeah he recaptured it by DQ but losing it at Summerslam again and never having a proper title reign before retiring makes me sad because I was totally a Christian fan!
These story-lines were better than what was happening on their TV counter-parts at the time lol.

If we ever do get another SVR-like game with a Road to Wrestlemania Mode I demand an Asuka one starting from Asuka dominating NXT then ending with you Saving Asuka’s streak from getting broken by Charlotte at WM34. If not that then a RTWM storyline for Asuka starting at her downwards spiral on Smackdown Live after her streak got broken by Charlotte at WM34 and also have some Kabuki Warriors matches in it before the Kabuki Warriors turned heel on Paige. Also I have a third one go for a Kabuki Warriors betrayal storyline where depending what choices you make before the midpoint of the Kabuki Warriors RTWM storyline where either you as Kairi or Asuka turn heel on your fellow Kabuki warrior it will result in either Asuka turning on Kairi or Kairi turning on Asuka and it then results in a year long feud between Asuka and Kairi the tension between Asuka and Kairi starts to rise when you lose Women’s Tag Team titles to Alexa Bliss And Nikki Cross before WM36 then the tension explodes when Kairi regardless if your playing as her or not starts eating pins and Submissions left and Right And Asuka begins to get more annoyed with each Pin and Submission Kairi eats then she eventually snaps and then on a Raw later in the storyline if your playing as Asuka you call out Kairi and if your playing as Kairi Asuka calls you out. But when either of you step out to ring it looks like Asuka if your playing as her or not is gonna forgive Kairi for eating all of those pins and submissions but then the unthinkable happens Asuka sprays the Green Mist in Kairi’s eyes of you playing as Asuka or Kairi and if your Asuka it turns you heel and the fans turn against you and if your playing as Kairi you Dodge Asuka’s Green Mist even tho Asuka thought she hit you with it and Asuka’s call out on you erupts into an All out Brawl and you are absolutely unloading Kairi’s Strong Strikes on Asuka’s Back And then it Makes Kairi a Heel but the fans still consider Kairi Babyface what makes Kairi a Tweener. Then this when the paths split on Asuka’s side Io gets called up from NXT and teams with Asuka in an attempt to bring Triple Tails to the Wwe but they will be called Double Tails as Mio Shirai Io’s older sister is retired from in ring competition and it unlocks Asuka’s Heel Attire. Then on Kairi’s Side Xia Li gets called up from NXT and teams up with you as Kairi and it unlocks a Kairi attire what has her Kitsune Face paint and parts of her Pirate Princess Attire as Kairi is a heel but as I said the fans still consider Kairi Babyface. Finally on Asuka’s side if your playing as her every so often Kairi approaches you backstage to try and convince you to reform the Kabuki Warriors but you strongly say no everytime and it then makes you an Alpha Heel along with mandatory Backstage Brawls either against Kairi or Xia and Becky whose disappointed with you for what you did to Kairi but you easily Dispatch Kairi and Xia where it’s a long Brawl against Becky. Where on Kairi’s side you refuse to give up on trying to convince Asuka to reform the Kabuki Warriors due the massive respect Kairi had for Asuka before the Kabuki Warriors broke up plus Kairi’s strong undying heart she is know for from Stardom where she always gets back up again and stronger then before when she loses. Then the Kabuki Warriors RTWM ends with a last Women standing match at either at WM36 without the Coronavirus meaning Kairi gets to have an entrance from the Raymond James Stadium Pirate ship and theirs fans in the stands or WM37 or whatever the Years Wrestlemania is before the game releases. Where on Asuka’s Side you get a regular entrance but with the flower petals from some of Asuka’s NXT Takeover entrances. The only problem about this is that in the WWE 2K games Kairi has a noticeably lower Overall compared to Asuka and I think Io has a slightly higher overall then Kairi could be wrong tho. The game what this Kabuki Warriors breakup RTWM would be in would have to make Kairi’s overall higher and close to Asuka’s one.

My favorite choice was the Microphone because there we make him wear the chicken head that Santino gave us when took away our wrestling gear
