- Опубликовано: 12 июн 2017
- One muscle to rule them all. Not really but this is a VERY important muscle to work when talking about the head and neck, so here are some great techniques to release it and help make someone's day better. Thanks for watching!
*I'd normally do these techniques multiple times and even slower but can't show everything when trying to minimize videos, just an FYI :)

I just used these techniques on a client and he was amazed by it! 😎 Really good tips, thank you 👍🏽
I love how you get straight to the point yet are so detailed and not too long❤️love your videos!
I need this massage so badly! Deep tissue hurts soooo good man, I wish I was on that table
Spencer, I've just found your channel. I'm currently a Massage Therapy student and your videos are a great supplementation to what I'm learning in class. It's hard for me to remember what was shown quickly in demos, so it's nice to have something to look back at and study. Your work is greatly appreciated!
Your videos have saved me in clinic instructor sucks so I’ve been watching your videos for tips
Very nice straight to the point video showing effective techniques to help relax the levator scapulae muscle. Good job man!
I love the way you explain and I love your channel, thank you so much for making great videos!
Spencer thanks for another great video I think that you are the best at showing the techniques , also showing the insert with the picture of the muscle is especially helpful for your viewers that are not trained massage therapists and don't know the anatomy , Keep up the great work, love your channel
This is EXACTLY where I need a massage. 😮 You’re doing exactly what I wish I could do for myself. I wish you lived in my area. I’d hire you. Great video! 👍❤️
This man really knows his stuff, I wish he lived in the UK.
Great to see this reaffirmation of how I personally work. Thanks. I’m always amazed that so many people tell me how nobody has ever work infra scapular with them. Looks good there. And I know it FEELS great.
really like how you show a picture of the muscle with the insertion sites as well. Very nice. You can also teach this. This is really excellent. Thank you so much.
Omg you're amazing I wish you were my massage therapist! Such a helpful video. Thanks. Love u! Great vibes :)

Hi new to your channel
And I love it. I practice in my husband and he's challenging because he's very bony and the muscles are hidden if that makes any seance?? Then when I massage a regular person with normal muscles thst I can get to with out having to deal with bones in the way its so nice
Thank you such a great video :)
Sarah Harry u like This ?
Hi bro, really appreciate this video and its very informative . can you also make some sports massage techniques??
Nice moves..I learn from your techniques..please do also a video for whole body massage..
I like your style.... not a race... feel the tissue and visualize the muscle as you massage... :You have passion kiddo
great! thank you))))
Great massage wish that was me on the table .
Can you do a video on a massaging out a back knot... So relaxing
Oh my gosh, this is what I should had worked with a client that was having a great deal of tension in this area.
I'm strong so as not to use elbows or forearms. I do high intensity weight training (13 years so far) and it really gives me an advantage in using different modalities.
Please I need this done so bad
You are the best, the very, very best! Why do you not practice in the Chicago suburbs where I live! I need you or someone who practices like you do. Do you know any practice in the NW suburbs? Stay the way you are!
My Skills too, I’m doing this technique to my clients when he or she’s had a stiff neck and back pain, usually in therapeutic massage 💆♀️
I watch these videos and cry that this isnt me 😭 8 months pregnant and my back hurts so bad right here.
Congratulations on your kid

April 2019 94K. Awesome. Your videos are super helpful and informative. Thank you SO much from Malta (EU).
Nice
what if C7 is moved (after a car crash) and scapulae are so tense and u can not even see scapulars. I am talking about my mom who is over 60 and has so much tension there. I've just qualified to Swedish massage but I know it is not enough to ease her pain... with what intensity I need to massage those places? I love your technique. Great video! Thank You
You looked so young I didn't have a lot of hope of finding someone i liked, but i was happily surprise! Nice video, you've got a new subscriber
Thanks - but could you do a video doing this on a massage chair too? please
Looks amazing..I wish the spas in my area knows this..is it rude if i show the therapist this video i wonder
Haha she would probably be fine. They are there to please u and she will learn gr8 techniques hun
Where'd you learn all this?
That is my chronic problem area and no one ever works it like that. I also never feel any relief from massages. I am an LMT, btw
I would recommend that you find a therapist trained in orthopedic neuro muscular therapy, I had a shoulder injury during the time I was in school.during ONMT class the techniques helped immensely , my levator scapula was super tight and painful, I agree with you Spencer has great skills. I hope this helps you out
If all physical massage has failed maybe it's a trapped emotion? I've heard of massage techniques that focus on releasing emotions that cause physical pain like CranioSacral and Reiki.
I seriously don’t know why people don’t like deep tissue! This looks amazing! Wish I was in WA
Cyn A Exactly
Love to have good massage from a good masseuse but unfortunately no good massage parlors and masseuse in Lahore-Pakistan. I wish if you were here...

Jason James me to
I need a massage
Idk man, seems to me you are doing everything but the levator. Trapezius mostly and some scalenes and romboid. The main part of the levator is on the neck and its quite hard to distinguish from the trapezius as it is actually under the trapezius. The only way to get it is to slide the fingers really deep in the neck which is not so pleasant for most people. Kinda like doing the sternocleidomastoid ... ew
This area on my girl is so insanely tight, it's not even like a muscle anymore but a solid mass on both sides. She has perpetually resulting, deep seated knots down around her scapulae and she actually starts to black out when I'm working it. She also has regular migraines (surprise, surprise). I've never felt anything like it and I have been doing massage as a hobby, branching off from some familiarity due to art studies of anatomy, for many years. I've been using vibration on the area, my usually go to when something is so tender, the reciever can't tolerate touch. I'm going to use hot towels and heating massage oil tonight. Are there any special pointers for this scenario? Perhaps particular places to pinpoint and hold pressure or things to avoid? Much appreciated.
maybe try acupuncture along with massage to release the tension area. Im a LMT and have a client with similiar issues, so many trigger points that even touching her at all intense and so painful. She thought it was something that she had to just deal with.I was getting nowhere with massage alone. I finally suggested acupuncture and after 3 sessions the progress has been amazing!
Some inner work and Reiki should help as well. But the tissue has to be broken down to clear the blockages. And prepare for any emotional release. And or bruising may occur.
The first thing I would recommend is evaluating her posture from the side to see if she has forward head posture and or rounded shoulders if she does I would have her work on her posture there are exercises to help improve her posture. If she works all day on her computer I would recommend that she take a couple of minutes to rotate her shoulders and neck every hour. Have you ever tried hot stones , they can really help to loosen up contracted muscle . Then you can use the techniques that spencer is demonstrating , he is a excellent therapist and he definitely knows his craft. I have had a couple of clients who have this problem, also don't forget to work her pectorals , the body is all connected. I hope this helps you some , Just keep massaging ,hang in there
Ugh I’m having pain in this area.
Could you by any chance be my teacher?
