I'm in massage school. It's my 3rd day! I'm already dreaming about the future! I'm now going to watch your videos before I go into school. 1 step ahead of the game.
You have no idea how much of a gift this video is for me. My mother's illness is undiagnosed but her body is swelled up and is loosing strength. Alot of times her feet get really white and she wasn't being able to stand up. I performed this massage and it worked! She actually got up. Thabk you so much for this and explaining with such percision
I massage my mom everynight or when ever i am not too tired and she always wants her calves. Hopefully i can apply this for my mom. Im not professional but mama comes first :) thanks
@Tiana Jordan "But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea." Mathew 18:6 Don't worry parents have it worst if they are corrupt.
Just to see you doing a massage, i can feel how comfortable it is. I definitely would choose you to be my massage therapist if only you were near. Thank you for sharing your technique. Two thumbs up.
Thanks so much for this Allison. I've been looking for some myofacial release vids to help my partner's achilles injury. I find some of the 'pure' myofacial techniques a bit hard to administer (and a bit boring!), but your oil-based approach I can really work with. I'm a bit rusty with my massage these days, I trained in Tui Na over 15 years ago, and haven't been doing much of late. I'm coming back to massage with a beginners mind (although have massaged many hundreds of bodies). I REALLY like your style: deep, flowing and elegant. Also a lot of therapists on RUclips seem to only give a little away (then sell you), but you are very generous in your sharing. Thanks a bunch! Adam, Brighton, UK.
So glad this is helpful for you Adam! Good luck getting back into the world of bodywork. I definitely believe that the more we, as MT's share, the more the world will understand how important our work is, and the more all of us will benefit. Thanks for the post!
This was a care and exquisite tutorial in such a brief amount of time. I greatly appreciate your care and thoughtfulness given not a complete class. I trust you will continue your studies beyond RMT/LMT. You will bring a lot to the profession and clients!
Any other videos you suggest? My husband has been in pain from plantar fasciitis and recently collapsed at the store from the pain. I been following this video couple times a week and guess what? He has improved so much!! Any others pls let me know so I can follow those. Thanks!
Love your videos! Always looking for new techniques to integrate into my massages and your videos are all very thorough and very well explained. Thumbs up!
I very much enjoy ALL of your videos! I will be done with my massage therapy classes in 5 weeks! AHH! The painting videos are so helpful to actually SEE on a human body, in plain view. I'm thinking of doing this myself. I'm a visual learner as I feel most body workers can be. THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR TIME AND SHARING YOUR KNOWELDGE! -Meghan Crystal
Great series of videos, am just embarking on a Sports Massage career and these videos are a good reference point for techniques and client manipulations/positions..Cheers!
Do it yourself by squeezing the calf muscle between your thumb & index finger. I do it twice a day for five minutes on each calf. When I first started doing this, it took two weeks before I no longer felt pain when firmly squeezing the calf, since then I do it once every other day for 5 minutes on each calf to keep inflammation from resettling into the calf. Same with your biceps & triceps on your arms.
2:12 When my therapist did this I felt the most excruciating pain of my entire life, I begged her to stop right away. My calves are always very tight and stiff but still I told her to be very nice and gentle or just skip the calves entirely!
If you have a rocking chair with a horizontal bar on the front, plant your feet on the ground and rock back and forth, letting the bar rub against your calf. Amazing deep tissue massage.
Thank you! I am so glad that I found your channel. Your video's are so helpful and informative. So many wonderful techniques. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
But What about if with varicous veins, these are very common in the legs of the clients, are those techique safe? Pls lets us know, thank you for sharing.
Hi there, My friend has had severe pain in the left ankle for a few years now, which most of the times has caused inflammation and swelling. This, in return, causes difficulty in walking. It has also resulted in creating a knot in the calf area, making it tighter and stiffer. I've done some research and found out the correlation between ankle pain and the soleus muscle. Can I ask if this technique can be used on someone who has a knot in the soleus muscle which creates ankle pain/inflammation? Or is it only intended for individuals with Achilles' tendon pain? Many thanks.
I got a massage like this for my calves a while back and it didn't hurt but it Felt too good. My leg kept jerking and I almost wanted to start yelling but I wasn't painful. It was so weird
I have a lot of dysfunction in my lower leg, my ankles and feet are very stiff. I think this type of message would be so beneficial. How often can this me done? I need you.
Hi! Do you have specific massage for Sciatica Nerve pain? The pain is from left buttocks down to the calf and foot also. Hope to hear from you. Thanks!
What kind of massage therapist are you? Like obviously you are more knowledagble than the usual one so what kind of professional do I look for in my region if I want to find someone like you?

I want this lady to massage my calf muscles. That looks like it would really help with my constantly tight muscles from running.

But What about if with varicous veins, these are very common in the legs of the clients, are those techique safe? Pls lets us know, thank you for sharing.
@FloridianScotch Hi there, just wondering why massage therapists don't massage varicose veins?
No massage on varicose area ever. This is a contraindication. The area is often very painful also.
Hi there,
My friend has had severe pain in the left ankle for a few years now, which most of the times has caused inflammation and swelling. This, in return, causes difficulty in walking. Absolutely - these techniques are meant to help with the entire area. But I would want to know what caused the severe pain in the first place.
