Tulok the Barbrarian Oh yeah, no doubt. But forge cleric stuff for all the sweet gadgets inherent for mandalorians and dual wielding from fighter. Wade into the center of a bunch of trained soldiers and make all that witness you look on in wonder or terror depending on whose paying you.
Danny Eddleston Thats not a bad idea, but I personally don’t feel it’s as good of a fit. The armorer is given reverence and does everything with a weight of ceremony. I feel that the forge domain cleric is a perfect fit for her.
Funny you say that cause I'm using an old UA for protection cleric to play Naofumi. We're lvl5 so it's a little late for me to find this video but I think multiclassing for abj wizard would be a lot cooler than going all the way with cleric
My gnome rogue lawyer was given that because he demanded his god to give an ally his luck. Everyone was sure I was going to die for that - he's currently the figurehead of a Marxist revolution in setting because of Reliable talent ^^
Would you take Bouncing Boy from DC Comics instead? He can become super elastic and rubbery, and maintain/increase his momentum to crush opponents in a semi-invulnerable state. He also has his Legion Ring that grants him flight, signal (can we make it a flare?), and communications.
I did not know this video existed and made a Naofumi build. I went with Rogue, Ranger, and Barbarian classes as they fit the character well based on his circumstances in the anime/manga. I also ended up making a homebrew shield that gains different abilities temporarily based on the roll of a d20 and spent a few hours doing research of all his shields from the story while making the homebrew shield.
Hey Tulok, I'd love to see your take on Samurai Jack! I'm thinking monk/fighter with maybe a touch of Rogue? You're the expert! (Btw, if you wanna explore adjacent builds, Afro Samurai and the Scotsman might also be fun.)
Back in 3.5 there was +1 buckler that could transform into a +1 light, heavy , or tower shield. It would be perfect for this build, as you go up in levels upgrade the enchantment so it could become different shields, like spiked (1d6 piercing), bladed (1d6 slashing), or Brawler (1d6 bludgeoning). Or other types of non magical shields.
Wonderful. As someone who loves tanky, defensive characters, this was just a joy to listen to. I like the idea in the comments of dropping the cleric levels for two more wizard levels to get your signature spell, but even the cleric levels give you a unique edge, and I can't say no to forge cleric. It's one of the coolest clerics around. I'm not sure which my favorite magic school is, but abjuration is up there with conjuration and evocation. I can definitely see myself using this as a guide for a character build in the future. Thanks, Tulok!
Also for race you could use Mark of The Sentinel Human for +2 Con +1 Wis, a free shield spell, the ability to take a hit for an ally as a reaction and some cool abjuration spells
I like how he describes the point arrays and the value's meaning for the character, and the standard array always seems to fit snug in with a character's traits. That's what we call good game design.
I would love to see Naofumi get an ability that lets him apply the effects of things that he ingests willingly or otherwise to other people, and then see Naofumi eat one of those wine balls to make the spear hero fall over hammered foaming from the mouth like what happened in the anime during the island training arc.
Dude I was literally thinking about this build yesterday when my friend mentioned starting a new campaign and wasn't sure how I'd pull it off. This is perfect!
To be faire, he's trying to stick with the actual character and Naofumi is nowhere near an elemental, but if you want to build your own hero inspired by Naofumi's fighting style, you could indeed take a fire genasi here and get that sweet CON bonus + some good utility spells. Only drawback, you'll have to waste a caracteristic improvement to take the Shield Master feat because you don't want to be a shield centered build without that.
I've been looking forward to this ever since you mentioned it on Twitter! To be honest, the Abjuration Wizard took me by complete surprise, but I can now see why you chose it. It fits surprisingly well, and I kinda like it. I've done some theorycrafting on a Naofumi build before, and I ended up with a Battle Master Fighter / Vengeance Paladin with the feats Shield Master and Tavern Brawler, so you can actually hit things with the shield properly. I thought Vengeance Paladin fit well as an overall theme, and the Paladin spells can cover some of the Shield abilities (Branding Smite lets you set a weapon on fire... But what if your shield *is* your weapon?). And the Battle Master maneuvers work really well as a "Commanding support" kind of fighter, what with Commander's Strike, Distracting Strike, Goading attack and so forth.
" i can't fight with just a shield" * steve rogers disliked this * doubling down on defense when you could take offensive abilities is really hard for a lot of players to do. especially when you actually have the option to take them in the first place
i'm currently playing a similar wizard/cleric hybrid and it's honestly pretty fantastic. the support options you get from one level of cleric plus a bunch of abjuration wizard is really strong
Great build. This video made me realize there's a lot more spells for protecting people than I thought. A possible alternative race worth considering is Mark of The Sentinel from the recent Eberron: Rising From The Last War. With this option you're still a Variant Human, but a different kind of Variant Human. It gives you +2 Con and +1 Wis, lets you add a D4 to Perception and Insight rolls (basically permanent Guidence), a free extra casting of Shield once a day, a once per day ability to take a hit on an ally's behalf, and an expanded spell list with several in-character options like Compelled Duel, Death Ward, and earlier access to Shield of Faith. These come at the cost of normal Variant Human's free Feat and Skill, and is also something you'll need to check with your DM about since it has some strict default lore and doesn't canonically exist outside of Eberron. But if your DM is fine with it, it's a strong in character option. And hey, Naofumi is a divinely empowered human from another world after all, representing that with a Dragonmark doesn't sound all that far-fetched to me. And a quick request to rounds things off; are there any plans to do some Final Fantasy characters? I'd really love to see your take on Squall Leonhart, Yuna, or Gilgamesh (especially Squall).
I'm a little curious why the two levels of Forge Cleric when Artificer has the infusions and most of the spells (Shield of Faith being the key one missing)? Enhanced Armor and Enhanced Arcane Focus are definitely helpful boosts for this build, tool proficiencies for days, and allows for a single spellcasting modifier to be focused on, allowing for other options with ASI and Feats. The only thing I can come up with is a single spell slot lost. Love your stuff.
Starting out: Me : excited! Excited! After the video: Me: No artificer? That... Wasn't what I was expecting. This was a good one. Not what I was expecting, but I like it. Also surprised that you didn't go paladin to get the steed summoning for an Axebeak, but I can't say that the 100 rounds of total immunity is bad. I just can't.
I can understand where you are coming from, he is very crafty. Cleric subs potions pretty well, and he did mention taking proficiency with Jeweler's Tools.
I'd rather a fantasy build, personally. Pre-AoS Nagash would be my choice. Pissed off revenant lich boy who only wants to kill the gods and rule the kingdom that is rightfully his.
IIRC, Eberron has an item that's ostensibly a crystal book. Functions like a book, but you're mind-linking instead of physically reading/writing. Can function as a spellbook. Perfect for a shield-mounted spellbook
Your build videos are the best, they really get the inspiration flowing! Personally, I’ve been wanting to do a tactician build for a long time, and loved your video on Chrom! I really want to see your take on Robin from Fire emblem Awakening.
If you grab Arcana from V. Human. History/Survival from Fighter Medicine/Nature from Cloistered Scholar (You're an otaku, make it work) No need to make a background when you do that. Also Tulok, you neglected the fact that you get 2 extra cantrips when leveling. But depending on gear (Breastplate most likely) you end up with 148hp, 18ac, +11 on spell attacks (for the very few you have) 19DC for spell saves.

You’re catering to your audience and to be fair we always ask and vote for things that lead you down that road. You do incredible work and I look forward to your uploads every week :)
I'm so glad you did this video! I've been waiting for this going on months now. Definitely trying this build for my next campaign. Also, the 3 down votes were from the other 3 heroes lol
So I would replace the protection fighting style with the defense fighting style because its better and their are way better ways to protect your allies like keeping them from getting hit using sanctuary or warding bond
So I've yet to see "Rising of the Shield Hero," but I absolutely LOVE the concept of this build. If I would change anything I would: -Go with your suggestion of a Fire Genasi -Starting stats would be: Int: 15, Dex: 14, Wis: 13, Con: 12, Cha: 10, Str: 8. This would already meet multiclass requirements and I would prefer high Charisma saves over Strength. -Grave Domain over Forge for free and improved Spare the Dying plus an always prepared False Life for those sweet, sweet temp HP. The Channeled Divinity would also be useful if we are not making Naofumi.
At the first ASI, I would have picked Tavern Brawler, would bump his odd CON, give proficiency with his Shield attacks (which are considered improvised weapons) since its his only possible weapon, besides punching (which also increases damage with the feat) and hey, the bonus action grapple can help alot.
I think personally think a artificer could also work and play a bit differently as being able to cast spell through your shield and being able to support ur party with healing or with the infusions
A recap on the build at the end would be great. Maybe right before the pros and cons. By the time we hit the end, I was lost as to what classes you had used.
Honestly I'm surprised you went with Power Word Kill and not Wish solely for the ability to replicate other spells. Hellish Rebuke, Protection from Poison, Entangle, more potent healing spells, etc. all come to mind
I once did a full run of Dark Souls 2, only using shields. Orma and Reeve's, Sanctum and Vessel shields for spellcasting, 3 rebel shields for Magic, Dark, and Lightning damage interchangeably, and Gyrm's for fire. I spiced down a lot of spells, and in the end was able to spam crystal soul spears and heal myself and my cooperator. We did this run on NG+, and when we got to Fume Knight, I did not roll. I did not move out of the way. I tanked all of his attacks, and didn't take any damage until the second phase, and even then, I only needed to heal once (dark stoneplate and black pellets for the win). And the Gyrm is a rather effective weapon. THAT is how you play shield souls.
I feel It'd just be 90% of the build would be fighter with 10% barbarian, but I'd love to see Wrath from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood! Or maybe one of the other homunculi? If you'd want your beloved humans (i kid) Kimblee is a super interesting character. Keep up the great work!
in the campaign I am currently in there is a dude who is playing a dwarf who wields two shields. he is just really good at bashing things. it actually works pretty well.
Okay hear me out: Momo from bnha. Conjuration Wizard with a few levels in Artillerist Artificer purely for the fact that she can make f***ing cannons. Her whole thing is making stuff and providing battle support. -Intelligence first, Momo is arguably the smartest person in class 1-A and it's her foremost casting stat -Constitution is next, her creations comes from her own body and consumes her body's nutrients. A convenient excuse to have some good thic= I MEAN concentration! -Dexterity next, Momo is fairly quick, plus it helps with armor class. She doesn't wear a whole lot, so she'd AT MOST have Leather... -Charisma is next. She's just... so damn pretty
i was thinking there might be the "tough" feat at one of those score improvements considering how wizard-heavy this is, but then again with all of the other proactive supplemental bulk i can understand not having it
Hello Mr. Tulok, I believe I have a great idea that you can put in one of polls/videos: Rory Mercury from the GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought There anime. For me personally, I would try model her after an oath of vengeance paladin, if you've seen the show (it's absolutely great btw) you'll understand completely. Thank you for your time/consideration & good luck in your next campaign.
Another great video. Now, time to do Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1984 Conan the Barbarian movie version. 😉 But Uncle Iroh from Avatar would be cool as well.
Thank you, love this build! The only thing I would disagree with, is the low str. He's definitely not the one who's being pushed around, but yeah, you have to sacrifice something in dnd. (spoiler to season 2/manga/light novel) don't blame me if you open it, I WARNED YOU He was able to prevent a giant tortoise with a mountain on it's shell from advancing, just by holding onto it. For a whole hour. Grappling a mountain isn't something you could do with str being your dump stat.
I personally would've chosen the tavern brawler feat, giving you proficiency in improvised weapons (which your shield is), allowing you to more reliably strike with it. And using the +1 from the forge cleric, just adds to that
Feats I think that could have helped the build: Tough, he is shown in the series to be a meat shield and with all those levels in wizard your not the tankyist even though you are an aberration wizard the ward only lasts so long and if it drops you have to wait until a long rest to restore it besides it only gives you and your allies 39 hp at 17th level without the use of aberration spells and the fact that projected Ward is also a reaction doesn’t help it at all. Another con of this build is that it is reaction bogged, not necessarily a problem but it is something to be aware of. Tavern brawler gives you a bump in con or str, gives you some grappling abilities and allows you to use your shield as an improvised weapon, this feat isn’t necessary but it does give some nice versatility. Magic initiate could instead to give you all the things you have in cleric, without requiring you to multi class. As for the build itself I think it matches the story more to go Eldrich knight, only for the ability that his shield cannot be disarmed which is a big part of the shields power. All that being said however, I enjoy your videos and I like this build.
Tip, the build doesn't mention it but there's no rule about shields adding attack to your melee unless you consider it an improvised weapon, in that case if it's pure fisticuffs, then I'd suggest grabbing the Tavern Brawler feat to maximize Naofumi's gut-punch potential, even if it is an improvised weapon, that at least gives you a d4+prof, which is relatively decent since you are fighting WITH YOUR FUCKING SHIELD AND FISTS (and since you can't go monk)
This is definitely the first build where one of its pros was "Supportive Father". Seriously, that was fun and so were the other daughter themed jokes. I haven't watched this show (yet) but to me it sounds as though you created an accurate replication in the stats and abilities.
Episode 121 of the Fire Emblem stats: Naofumi Iwatani. Shields are not weapons in Fire Emblem, they're equippable items. So the only skills Naofumi has are faith (for healing magic) and authority (as the dad of the group). He's bad at every other weapon type because of how his game works. He is a defensive wall with great HP, defense, and resistance, but bad attack, magic, and speed.
Oh wow this is really different than what I planned for Naofumi, but an excellent example of a durable support class abjurer. Great stuff! Unrelated note, come on people! What we gotta do to get a Mr Fantastic build? Aren't any of you curious how stretchy stuff works in 5e?
Dude your videos are fantastic! I’ve watched almost every single one of them and I’m constantly waiting for you to put out more. But if it is at all possible could you do more Marvel and DC characters thanks
I love this channel, it def feeds my otaku tendencies proper and I thank you for that good sir. I'm sure its been asked before but could you do one for Avatar Aang or Katara? it was easier to build the in 3.5 but its been a bit of a struggle to get them right in 5e.
"I don't know how you could loose concentration with that" And this is why I always take Sleet Storm if I have access to it. Forces concentration checks without dealing damage, playing around Invulnerability and the War Caster feat. But I guess a dispel effect would be easier for Invulnerability. Also, is it really useful to take Magic Weapon that late ? I mean, if Raphtalia didn't get her own magic weapon by this level, you've probably got TPK'd by now.
I would definitely use Human (Mark of Sentinel) instead of Variant Human, besause of Vigilant Guardian, Guardian's Shield traits and the Spells of the Mark. And I would start as an artificer for constitution saving throws and shield proficiency, maybe two levels in artificer for infusions.
My guesses for stuff Variant Human, obviously As for classes, possible ideas Sorcerer: Dragonblood Druid: Circle of Land/Wildfire Paladin: Oath of the Ancients Barbarian: something, not exactly sure what Ranger: Beastmaster
Friendly reminder that an Uncle Iroh build would make me the happiest person alive.

Much love to this version of him, even if its not what I ended up making, which is down below:
Full Build:
8 Eldritch Knight Fighter (War Magic at 7th level is amazing when combined with a Shove or Unarmed Strike)
2 Forge Cleric
10 Abjuration Wizard
V.Human (Feat: Shield Master)(Skill: Perception)
Hermit Background(Nature + Medicine)
(1st level in Fighter - CON saves, Heavy Armor proficiency, Fighting Style & Second Wind) Skills: (Athletics + Intimidation)
15,14,13,12,10,8 (+1 to 2 different stats)
STR: 12 + 1 = 13(+1)
DEX: 10(+0) - (He often times just stands there and tanks every hit, and with this build I'm giving him heavy armor anyway)
CON: 14(+2)
INT: 15 + 1 = 16(+3)
WIS: 13(+1)
CHA: 8(-1)
Feats/ ASI's:
1: Shield Master
-=fighter=-
4: Heavy Armor Master(+1 STR(14)
6: Tavern Brawler(+1 STR(15) - (His unarmed strikes have to do SOMETHING after awhile - and he's not averse to grappling to shut down enemies - and I guarantee he'd like to wear heavy armor if he could - now his STR is high enough to wear Plate)
8: Warcaster - (Naofumi is in dire need of keeping his concentration, especially being the Tank)
-=wizard=-
4: +2 INT(18)
8: +2 INT(20)
- Spell Selection - 100% agree with what you've got here, can't get into it in the comments, but definitely top choices here
- Fighting Style - I actually went with the "Interception" fighting style from the Class Features UA as opposed to "Protection" because I've found its more effective to reduce damage than to just give disadvantage to one attack.
Other than that, a wonderful video as always @Tulock ! They always brighten up my week
This was a joy to find. I have a player that's been wanting to do a build like this for a while. I'll have to bring it up and see if he'll take it. Means I get out of having to rely on homebrew for it.
Hell, this is almost AL legal if you make a standard human instead of variant
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 when you talk about anime protagonists needing to be good at everything I think about my friend's dnd group he always takes Standard Human because he can't rely on his party, and needs a Jack of All approach.
Weekly Build Request: I know there are more important My Hero Academia Builds that probably need to be made, but I would absolutely love a Stain build. A Rogue with Hold Person sounds amazing.
Kensei Monk for me, say stunning strike is your paralysis
Oh Stain is dope, I gotta do some more MHA
@@phantafalconpunch Kensei Monk definitely works(you can't tell me that man doesn't know his way around a calligraphy brush), but Stunning Strike is for unarmed attacks, which he could definitely do but doesn't really align with his ability, plus paralysis gets auto-crits happening- very Stain. If he went Monk, Kensei for sure. I feel like other things to consider are Scout Rogue(he's SUPER mobile)and- hear me out- College of Swords Bard. He's charismatic enough to inspire a cult following, he's definitely skilled enough to do some Blade Flourishes, and you can get Hold Person at 3rd level in the class, with more slots than something like Arcane Trickster would get him. Plus he'd get Fear at level 5- harkening back to when he terrifies all the heroes at the end of his arc- and, with enough levels, he'd be able to use Hold Monster, like he did on the Nomu that abducted Deku. Other spells that self-buff or cause charm/fright effects should come up too.
@@neonal18 that might actually be a perfect build for him, well done m8. My question is he would undoubtedly be a Varient human but what feat would he get (he was getting pounded on by Deku, Todoroki and Ida at the same time without breaking a sweat so maybe the tough feat????)

I’m curious if the Armorer from The Mandalorian would be a good pick. Multiclass into forge cleric and Battlemaster fighter
Oooh, I'll probably do Mando himself first, but that's a cool idea
Tulok the Barbrarian Oh yeah, no doubt. But forge cleric stuff for all the sweet gadgets inherent for mandalorians and dual wielding from fighter. Wade into the center of a bunch of trained soldiers and make all that witness you look on in wonder or terror depending on whose paying you.
Maybe some artificer?
Danny Eddleston Thats not a bad idea, but I personally don’t feel it’s as good of a fit. The armorer is given reverence and does everything with a weight of ceremony. I feel that the forge domain cleric is a perfect fit for her.
Danny Eddleston Now Kuiil, HE would make an awesome artificer. And just think about it, he could make a big ol artifice Bluurg as his companion!
I would have dropped Cleric 2 and grab Wizard 18 so we can just SPAM the Shield spell.
Or swap out the first level of Fighter for that second level of Forge cleric maybe?
Oh for sure. If you want to optimize it, drop the cleric levels
Funny you say that cause I'm using an old UA for protection cleric to play Naofumi. We're lvl5 so it's a little late for me to find this video but I think multiclassing for abj wizard would be a lot cooler than going all the way with cleric

Well this was great, as usual.
I would like to request Buzz Lightyear.
Honestly, thanks to COPPA, pure disney builds might be few and far between

That would be glorious XD!
Dude I was literally thinking about this build yesterday when my friend mentioned starting a new campaign and wasn't sure how I'd pull it off. This is perfect!
Start ranger, hunter subclass. Into fighter. Champion subclass. Done
Me:"oh yeah elemental race makes more sense"
Tulock: *in every single video* VaRiEnT HuMaN!
" i can't fight with just a shield"
* steve rogers disliked this *
doubling down on defense when you could take offensive abilities is really hard for a lot of players to do. especially when you actually have the option to take them in the first place
I have always sworn by Abjurers. Even in the "old" 3.0/3.5 days. I love this build, and my inner wizard cant get enough.
i'm currently playing a similar wizard/cleric hybrid and it's honestly pretty fantastic. the support options you get from one level of cleric plus a bunch of abjuration wizard is really strong
SeraphMaclay it could be because the artificer is a half caster so he might not get as many spell slots idk I haven’t down the math
@@jessechavez9063 I did, and you'd only lose a single 6th level slot from the halved casting levels. I can't determine the affect of that though...
The emperor of mankind once used a shield, and a video about him or any other 40k would also be cool
I'd rather a fantasy build, personally. Pre-AoS Nagash would be my choice. Pissed off revenant lich boy who only wants to kill the gods and rule the kingdom that is rightfully his.
Theodor Mejer good choice but I think warhammer fantasy would be better since dnd is fantasy 40k you might want to homebrew.
IIRC, Eberron has an item that's ostensibly a crystal book. Functions like a book, but you're mind-linking instead of physically reading/writing. Can function as a spellbook. Perfect for a shield-mounted spellbook
Im so happy you made this build. I love Naofumi and now I get to play him and be the best support tank ever. Thanks Tulok!
If your DM is UA friendly, the knew Feats UA has another shield related feat called Shield Training that makes an excellent addition to this build.
Thank you I've been looking forward to this build for awhile now. Keep up the great work 👍
YEA!! Shield Hero! Was waiting on this one, very cool!!
Your build videos are the best, they really get the inspiration flowing!
Personally, I’ve been wanting to do a tactician build for a long time, and loved your video on Chrom! I really want to see your take on Robin from Fire emblem Awakening.
Varient human makes sense, but considering he's "from another world", then genoshi or even aasimar would work well too.
If you grab Arcana from V. Human.
History/Survival from Fighter
Medicine/Nature from Cloistered Scholar (You're an otaku, make it work)
No need to make a background when you do that.
Also Tulok, you neglected the fact that you get 2 extra cantrips when leveling.
But depending on gear (Breastplate most likely) you end up with 148hp, 18ac, +11 on spell attacks (for the very few you have)
19DC for spell saves.
Back after actually watching Shield Hero (might be my new favorite anime), and now I NEED to make a Shield character in a game!

Wow, FINALLY someone shows Naofumi the respect he deserves. You know, without needing their village saved twice, or a Slave Crest.
I'd never heard of this show but you've sold me on it.
I love Evards black tentacles, once used it in conjunction with the confusion spell, it was glorious.
So I've yet to see "Rising of the Shield Hero," but I absolutely LOVE the concept of this build. If I would change anything I would:
-Go with your suggestion of a Fire Genasi
-Starting stats would be: Int: 15, Dex: 14, Wis: 13, Con: 12, Cha: 10, Str: 8.
When you chose Pokemon shield instead of sword
YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!! I'VE WANTED TO SEE YOU MAKE THIS BUILD FOR SO LONG! THANK YOU! WOOOOOOOOOOT!
I think personally think a artificer could also work and play a bit differently as being able to cast spell through your shield and being able to support ur party with healing or with the infusions
A recap on the build at the end would be great. Maybe right before the pros and cons. By the time we hit the end, I was lost as to what classes you had used.
You should totally do a build for Blade the vampire hunter (Wesley Snipes' version). That would be a killer build!
Honestly I'm surprised you went with Power Word Kill and not Wish solely for the ability to replicate other spells. Hellish Rebuke, Protection from Poison, Entangle, more potent healing spells, etc. all come to mind
Eh, he just doesnt make wishes. He summons a giant Iron Maiden
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 XD, that's a pretty good reason.
With so many concentration spells, you might want to get the war caster feat so you can maintain it even if you are hit a lot, which he tend to do.
Okay hear me out: Momo from bnha. Conjuration Wizard with a few levels in Artillerist Artificer purely for the fact that she can make f***ing cannons. Her whole thing is making stuff and providing battle support.
-Intelligence first, Momo is arguably the smartest person in class 1-A and it's her foremost casting stat
-Constitution is next, her creations comes from her own body and consumes her body's nutrients.
4:27 well...in Eberron now there is spellshards which works as spellbooks 👀 so you can say the spellshard is the red crystal ball in naofumi's shield
Or the spellbook he carries around when not using a shield.
Another great video. Now, time to do Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1984 Conan the Barbarian movie version. 😉
But Uncle Iroh from Avatar would be cool as well.
Thank you, love this build! The only thing I would disagree with, is the low str. He's definitely not the one who's being pushed around, but yeah, you have to sacrifice something in dnd.
(spoiler to season 2/manga/light novel) don't blame me if you open it, I WARNED YOU
He was able to prevent a giant tortoise with a mountain on it's shell from advancing, just by holding onto it. For a whole hour. Grappling a mountain isn't something you could do with str being your dump stat.
I personally would've chosen the tavern brawler feat, giving you proficiency in improvised weapons (which your shield is), allowing you to more reliably strike with it. And using the +1 from the forge cleric, just adds to that
As a reader of the light novels, I really appreciated the Jeweler's Tools and "guy with a scythe" jokes.
Thank for this video this will be a big help for me.
It's even more "Nani?" Having never seen the anime and only now finding out that his shield is that small
It gets big, it transforms
This is definitely the first build where one of its pros was "Supportive Father". Seriously, that was fun and so were the other daughter themed jokes.
I haven't watched this show (yet) but to me it sounds as though you created an accurate replication in the stats and abilities.
Naofumi is a paladin, 3rd ed leadership feat (Raphtalia), and Filo is the Pally mount.
THANK YOU TULOK! I asked him to do it, and he did! I'm so hapy!

That Lich king build would be awesome
"I don't know how you could loose concentration with that"
And this is why I always take Sleet Storm if I have access to it.
I would like to request Zabuza from naruto for a build. I could see him being some mix of shadow monk and storm herald barbarian
Really love this stuff. Some pretty dope builds. Ever thought of doing A DC Comics Lobo build. i can imagine that being alot of fun.

Let's start the take 1 of my series "Tulok, please build Shadow the Hedgehog on DnD 5e."
My guesses for stuff
Variant Human, obviously
As for classes, possible ideas

Druid: Circle of Land/Wildfire
Paladin: Oath of the Ancients
Barbarian: something, not exactly sure what
Ranger: Beastmaster
