@@joelsasmad :-( Oh well. I guess you can be a Yang in armour with a robot arm, or a Yang without the robot arm. I could call her outfit leather, or even studded leather, but that's not getting us anywhere close heavy armour. It's pretty much the only canon way to get a robot arm in DnD, unless you are a warforged, and your whole body is kind of robotic. I do prefer BattleMaster to Brute, because some of the maneuvers really represent what she can do in the show. The Pushing attack (that thing packs a punch), and the Bait and Switch (when she and Ruby fight Merc and Em at Haven), the Lunging attack (for that bit where she looses her arm). Brute emphasises her toughness, and may be a more "playable" version of her though. I'm not sure Juggernaut is official yet, but I think it does her abilities better than Storm Herald, which merely mimics her appearance. Depends entirely on how you want to play her. Tulok didn't mention this, but monk unarmoured defence and Barbarian unarmoured defence don't stack, which is one reason I went unarmed fighter, rather than monk.
well, he's already done Ruby, so im guessing he'll work his way through the whole team eventually, and if you want her sooner, go join his Patreon so you can vote on characters that get covered
Weiss is a College of Swords Bard, with a 4-level dip into Bladesinger Wizard. Lots of sword tricks, extra movement speed, REALLY high armor class, and you're STILL a full caster. Once you get to Bard 5, your inspirations reset on short rests, which (mostly) turns you into a short-rest reset character. Over the course of a day of adventuring, you can really hang in there, as long as you don't burn any important resources (like spell slots), letting you fight all day if needed. I've played this character before, it's surprisingly effective.
@@clothar23 Bladesingers are only required to be Elf or Half-elf if you're playing in Adventurer's League; the class itself says (in a sidebar) that your DM can choose to ignore that restriction in their campaign. And most of Tulok's builds are most definitely _not_ Adventurer's Legal anyway.
Bakugo could go so many ways. I'd love to see that build. I'd especially like to see which ability/spell you use for his explosives giving him a form of minor flight/levitation.
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 I'm waiting for there to be a lot of levels in Rogue, to call him a dashing rogue numerous times, and put him on the Inquisitive subclass.
Extra tip - if you come across a Ring of Spell Storing, have the Paladin pump different smite spells in it. Once attuned to the charged ring, the Yang can play around with fire punch, thunder punch, branding punch etc... They activate on a bonus action and use the original caster's spellcasting ability. And if both attacks miss on the first round of combat, that means the bonus action is free on the next one, and one of those four attacks is bound to hit (Assuming Fury of Bro's) and trigger the smite effect.
@@tinyhatkidboop7107 Why don't you try again, mate? Think really hard about what the connection between Yang and the game 'ARMS' is, especially in the context of a joke.
Episode #162 of the Fire Emblem stats: Yang Xiao Long. She excels at brawling and bows since her weapons are shotgun gauntlets. Like Ruby, she has weaknesses that are covered by her other teammates. In her case, lances, swords, and faith. She has weak magic stats but is very bulky in defense, strength, and charm.
I know the conventional wisdom is to not include magic items in these kinds of builds, but if a player in my game really wanted to base their chatacter on Yang I'd just let them go on a quest that ended with them getting a pair of magic gauntlets that have all the stats and benefits of a Sun Blade. Hell, if we're really worried about ridiculous things like "balance" just write it off as they took the "choose your own monk weapons" feature from the class variants UA and they chose longsword and brass knuckles as two of their new monk weapons.
so, just like the adora/catra build, and just like the harley/ivy build, you have to fall in love with the blake player once he finally makes a build for her too
I'd actually really like to see a Mercury build, he has a really interesting weapon. I know that it's another melee hand-to-hand (leg-to-hand??) style fighter but y'know
Same, but I was curious about how he'd do Neo. You've got your illusion magic, whilst going using that umbrella...sure, I know you could go to flavour town with the umbrella, but I was curious how much Arcane Trickster you'd want for the illusion (whilst the bonus sneak attack wouldn't hurt) and something else to multiclass with it.
I thought you meant the Mega Man Boss and was so confused as to how you'd put melting into a puddle and shooting said puddle while in puddle form into DND.
I feel like Mercury would need a lot of flavoring to specifically used leg based attacks, but it would be a really cool build nonetheless. Plus you wouldn't really need to put much work into building his semblance! C: His dad was a bastard really.
@@joelsasmad Alternatively she could be a Treacherous Paladin which literally has a body double as a skill which can be used twice per day. Plus I think they get mirror image as an oath spell.
@@joelsasmad I've got a Neo build going in a game right now that combines Arcane Trickster (for some illusion magic and the ties to her criminal origins) with Battlemaster (for all the flashy combat maneuvers). But I will admit that I'm not super familiar with Monks yet, so what you've described sounds like it gets pretty close, too.
Another flaw of the build: You gotta pick and choose if you're gonna rage or use Fist of Four Thunders at the start of the fight, since you can't cast spells in a rage. If you go into a rage then hey, you gotta wait till after it ends to even try and do Thunderwave. The only difference between standard casting and the Elemental Disciplines that let you cast spells is bypassing material components.
One of the best things about these videos is it gets me thinking of how I would make a character, and if you end up doing that character, I can compare to see how we differ. That being said Nemesis Sudou from the evillous chronicals would be cool to see (it's a song series)
I'd be exceedingly interested in a Neopolitan build from RWBY. She's really short and colorful and uses illusions so it would be a break from Variant Human, and I'd love to see how you go about building a fairly martial character that also uses a lot of illusions.
Neat, that's more or less what I'd come up with a while back. Curious to see how you handle the rest of the team. Your channel has been a great help in coming up with weird and fun builds. Been recommending it to my newer players to help them get ideas.
"If you're tired of Monk and Unarmed Combat then why do you keep asking for characters whose whole deal is punching?" Nobody is tired. Keep 'em coming ! Awesome episode, I think you really got her attitude into her class build. Awesome ! I wasn't expecting Way of the 4 Elements, really, but it was way better than Sun Soul for this specific build, I guess.
Gotta hand it to you, you really went out on a limb for those arm puns. - Also, if you use one of your ASIs for Magic Initiate, you can grab either Fire Bolt or Eldritch Blast (depending on your preference) to handle things at range, everybody's favorite cantrip True Strike, and Expeditious Retreat (which in this case can be an Expeditious Closing the Gap Without Needing to Use Ki). You would be casting from your Charisma, but there's no saves involved so you'll just have a slightly lower attack roll, and since cantrips scale with character level, that's either a ranged 4d10 fire damage or four sets of d10 force damage (I'd go with Eldritch Blast, personally, your damage would be a lot more consistent).
I have been waiting for this build since i discovered your channel last year. So far, I am loving how similar this is to my build for my former Brawler (since we moved off Pathfinder) because Calistie is a badass who fights very much like Yang. (Cali is just a FIghter rather than Barbarian.)
We just need Blake: Tabaxi Echo Knight fighter/Assassin Rouge Weiss: Elf or 1/2 elf Bladesinger wizard or Collage of swords bard Jaune: Variant Human (Tough feat?) Oath of Heroism Paladian Phyra: Human (Revenant if your a horrible person). Battle Master Fighter? (no clue on how the polarity semblance would work) Nora: Variant Human (Elemental Adept Lightning) Tempest Domain Cleric Ren: Variant Human or Elf Hunter Conclave Ranger (Anyone have ideas comment below)
Maybe! When I built her I used Way of Shadows Monk and Rogue Inquisitive. With Way of Shadows you can make illusion duplicates and the like but echo knight night be good too
Yang is really intelligent, i know for this build we could tecnicaly dump intelligence, but she's actually very smart, she designed and built her own arm/weapon. She got into a prestigious school with no help or shotcuts. Out of her team, she's the one who pays more attention in classes and also doesn't struggle to pass any classes (unlike ruby). Shes also a quick thinker, good strategist and very insightfull.
Yang isn't neccessarily dumb this is correct but she isn't as intellectual as Blake or Weiss, plus Yang really don't care much for tactics until after that whole arm situation and preferred to win her battles with her strength and ferocity
I burn with excitement from this video It is a real hot take Gotta hand it to Pietro Polendina an Artificer who made many great works worth every Penny
This was right on time. I've been trying to build a unarmed brawler character for the last two weeks six other iterations until i saw this. Definitely going to use this. Love your videos by the way.
Still hoping for Symphogear one day. Also thanks for all the hard work you always put in and I'm wishing you the best. Take care of yourself in this shitstorm of an era.
For Weiss, my money's on a moon elf bladesinger (You have to be an elf to be a Bladesinger) For Blake, definitely a Tabaxi, while class, I don't know, either an arcane trickster or that new fighter subclass, Matt Mercer made, an echo knight
Amazing Build, my only objection is the Barbarian subclass, I would have gone for the Desert Storm Herald Barbarian since it lets you deal fire damage in an aura around you when you entrer rage and thats basically the fiery explosion Yang does when she activates her semblance. Also its a shame that charisma is so low, since yang is a goddess of puns, but that AC needs to be high to avoid getting any limbs cut off. Any *more* that is.
Kind suggestion for next video: Sol Badguy, the flame of coruption, from Guilty Gear. A nice fire fighter with maybe some monk abillities? Idk Ps: pls, pretty pls. Love ya
This is good. But there's one thing that I disagree with: from what I read from Xanathar's guide, I think that the Way of the Sun soul Monks can choose if use the radiant bolt or the normal fist when attacking, as it's listed as a new attack option for the Attack action, meaning that they can adapt to the situation.
the problem is that you want that fire punchy OOMPH in your melee attacks, too. Personally I'd just make an exception for sun soul monks and make it so they can choose radiant damage for their melee punches without getting disadvantage.
I don't know about that. He built Catra as a Champion/Berserker and was more about aggressive and reckless attacks, Blake is a lot more about grace, precision, and misdirection. I think she'd be an Echo Knight mixed with some variant of Rogue.
Something I just realized: starting as a Monk gives you a free tool you're proficient with...which includes Caligraphers Tools...does this make Monk the class of the gods??
I was wondering Xiao Long it'd be until we saw her build come up! (Just kidding I support the Patreon so I know the schedule when you post it) When you mentioned a lack of proficiency in con saves I thought you were going to cap off the build with the Resilient feat to get that up there, but the retroactive HP bonus from that ability score improvement is always nice. Wonderful work on everyone's favorite blonde brawler! (Or at least mine)
Been watching your videos for awhile now, each one entertaining with great ideas. I don't know if anyone has suggested this yet, but maybe could you do a build video on the Dark Knight job/class in Final fantasy 14? Or maybe the character Hazama/Yuki from the BlazBlue series? Just a few suggestions/ideas. Thanks for taking the time to read this if you do, looking forward to your next video.
There are a lot of fun characters you likely haven't gotten around to, either because prior obligations or you just weren't all that away of them. Alibaba, Aladdin, and Morgiana from the Magi series would all make for some builds, Aladdin, in particular, would probably be fun to see because you could do an interesting comparison between the Magi Aladdin and the Disney Aladdin (whom I'm pretty sure you already did a build for). Morgiana would probably be an interesting build, especially with the unique ethnic/racial dynamics in the Magi series. While doing the research the 3 core cast members, Alibaba, Morgiana, and Aladdin, you'll probably encounter some more characters that will make for some other interesting builds. And as always, I recommend looking into doing some Outlaw Star builds, mostly because that series really needs more love and is a bit too overshadowed by other series that came out around the same time it did, and That Time I Was Reincarnated as a Slime builds, mostly because the series really does look like it takes place in someone's homebrew D&D campaign. Although, it probably would be interesting to see you try doing some builds for the main cast of Overlord, Momanga/Ainz would probably be a bit tricky when it comes to picking a race due to what he is within the canon of the series. Chances are most of the Floor Guardians would be tricky to build with the current source materials to work with, the only ones that would be easiest (as far as I can tell) would be the Dark Elf twins.
I know I keep asking for One Piece builds (and I'm not stopping), but Po from Kungfu Panda would be fun since we're talking about punching (is a belly slap a martial art?) Also would love to see Isaac from Castlevania.
I love the concept you're going for here, it does seem to fit really well with what Yang does. I think I noticed one major problem with how this is setup though. If the purpose is for this character to only use unarmed attacks then a lot of the Barbarian features don't work. Rage specifies you get the bonus damage when you make a melee weapon attack using Strength. Same thing with Reckless Attack and Brutal Critical (and weirdly the monks Stunning Strike), which proc with melee weapon attacks. Basically all the damage dealing aspects of Barbarian get turned off if not using a melee weapon. If there's something I'm missing that makes this not the case please let me know, otherwise this seems like it'd only work if you convinced your DM to allow these features to work with unarmed strikes as well.
Starting the video and expecting a Four Elements Monk and...I actually don’t know how you could capture Yang’s semblance...this is gonna be an interesting video!
Tulock, you forgot Yang's real source of power; Puns. Perhaps she gains the Vicious mockery cantrip to inflict 1d4 damage on anyone who is in range of her bad jokes.
I'm shocked you went so far into Barbarian personally, I don't feel like it really fits with her. She never stays in Rage for very long, and she doesn't do it all that often considering. I think capping out Barbarian at 4th level for the ASI would have been fine, and allowed you to get more out of the Monk half of the build. though I'm not entirely sure Monk was the best choice either, I think we could've gotten her Fists just fine with Booming/Green Flame Blade, but that would also mean having to invest more into Cha (Sorc) or Int (Wizard/EK/AT) which while not explicitly OUT of character, isn't really IN character either. Actually, high Cha is prolly pretty in character based off her Trailer alone. she nails Persuasion and Intimidate rolls a LOT
I made a build that was the first 3 levels as Barbarian (Desert Aura), then all the rest as Sun Soul Monk. The 5 foot ranged attack aspect was fixed by the Crossbow Master feat.
I really like how the daughter of the most Monk-ish character in RWBY (Taiyang) and the literal leader of a band of roving and raiding Barbarians, turns out to be a multi-class of Monk/Barbarian.
Slight problem with the Barbarian Unarmored Defense. Unlike standard AC calculations, where the player can choose the one that works best for them in any given situation, you can only gain the Unarmored Defense feature once. Which ever you gain first is the only one you can use. From the Multi-classing rules, P.164 of the Players Handbook: If you already have the Unarmored Defense feature, you can't gain it again from another class.
I Tried my Hand at Building Yang for Pathfinder, and I Landed on a Savage Technologist Barbarian, The Archetyle has a few things that fit well with her. First off you can use Guns and Melee Weapons at the same time, in fact it's Damn Near Obligatory, all you need is your DM's Permission to Either Make a pair of Pepperboxes LOOK like Gauntlets, OR that they Allow you to integrate Pepperboxes into Cesctus, Which isn't Much of a Stretch. if you can get that permission then the archetype Automatically gives you Two-Weapon Fighting, AND Prevents Attacks of Opportunity if you Shoot a gun in Melee, so Mix it up Secondly the Savage Technologist's rage Works Differently than most Barbarians, For starters it Boosts Strength AND Dexterity Rather than Constitution, and it does not Give you an AC penalty, which is Fun because Yang Does not Loose her ability to React Defensively at all while she uses up her Semblance, in fact she just gets faster and dodgeyer. And at Lv 5 you get to add your Dex Modifier to Gun damage while raging, which is Augmented while raging so even better! For Rage powers you wanna get Brawler at lv 2, then focus on Elemental Rage Chain of powers as soon as Possible (lv 4, 8 and 12) for an Extra Burning Umph in Melee, at Lv 6 you get Summer Rage just for the fire-y Aura that Yang has when her Semblance is active, it also has the nice side effect of Fatiguing anyone that stays too close, Take Ground Breaker at lv 10 Because she did exactly that Move in her trailer! Then Fire Pyre at lv 14 to cut down Status effect Duration in Half, nothing Keeps Yang Down, except Depression.... the last Few Levels you Fill out with Smasher to boost the Odds that Ground breaker will work, and your Choice of swift Foot and Raging Leaper as desired For Feats Start off with Improved unarmed strike and Toughness at Lv 1, Get Dragon style at Lv 3 Her Name Means "Sunny little DRAGON" so this style is a Must, plus it's Effects Fit her perfectly as it Boosts the effects of Str on Melee Damage, at Lv 5 you either need to ask your DM for Permission to use the brawler Rage power as a replacement for Stunning fist for Dragon ferocity's Prerequisites, OR Level Dip into Unchained Monk for 1 level* , at Lv 7 you can Get Amateur Gunslinger so you can get Quick Clear so your Guns don't STAY Jammed after a Misfire, at Lv 9 Get Dragon shot to Allow your Guns to shot actual Fire same as what Yang Does, at this point you start Changing Tactics to show her training with her Dad after Volume 3, so at Lv 11 and 13 Respectively you could take Dodge and Mobility so you can start Taking Full advantage of that Dragon style by Bouncing from enemy to enemy between each attack while reducing personal Risks as you Make your Way to the Cowards in the back row... at Lv15 and/or 17 you can get Canny Tumble so you can Increase your Chances of hitting those Jittery Little Speed Machines (I MEAN YOU NEO!!!), and in the level you didn't take Canny Tumble take Sidestep so you can position yourself to Charge away at someone else When your Turn comes up without having your Target be in your Way and prevent your Charge, Finish off with Sliding Dash at Lv 19 for that little bit of Extra Mobility options. Alternatively if you prefer Higher Damage output you could Replace everything from Lv 11 Forwards with Two weapon Fighting Feats to ramp up your Number of Attacks per Turn while Standing still. Or Hybridize the two, by Getting the bare minimum for sidestep then Focusing on TWF Feats... So the Pros to the Build are Good Damage, with Built in Elemental Damage on top, Gives you a good reason to Spec into strength(With a 1d8+2d6+2XStr as your Max Damage and 1d8+1d6+1.5X Str as your Weaker attacks, and possibly Lots of attacks), it does not Loose out on AC like other Barbarians while raging and Just gets More Evasive as it levels up, Good HP and General Tankyness even if you DO get hit, and High Mobility and Positioning Control(Or Lots of attacks Depending on which set of feats you picked at High level). For Cons, this build is MAD as Hell, you need Strength for Melee Damage and attack, Dex for raged attack and damage, Con for Rage Duration and Straight up survivability, and Wis MIGHT be Needed if you went for the monk Dip. You're Stuck with One element unless you wanna Divert from the theme (Yang can use Ice and Lightning dust if she wants, but she doesn't want to), Guns Can Jam and Spending a Rage Turn to Dejam it can be Extra Frustrating, You're Likely Soft stats so Skills and will saves will be low, if you went with the Monk Dip, you'll have low Wis and be unable to use Armor so your AC will be lower than Ideal even with your High Dex, The only Real problem I have with this Build is that, as far as I know, Pathfinder does not have an option to allow you to Restrict Your Rage so you can't use it till you've Taken a certain amount of PUNishment, Which Means you're Stuck Restricting Yourself and not using your Most Efficient Tactic (Rage) For not other Reason that Just Straight up role Play, personally that's the Kind of thing that Would annoy me in combat, and I'd prefer to have an ACTUAL Restriction in the Mechanics possibly that offers a Slight benefit if you take it, such as More Total Rage Turns per Day on the condition you need to take hits to Charge it up, Like say you can Get a total of (3 X Level +Con) Rounds of rage per day in stead of (2 X Level + con), but the Pool starts at 0 at the start of every Fight, and you get 1 Round every time you get hit, and an Extra 1 Round for every 5 points of Damage you take (After DR is counted)... This is Heavily House Ruled, so it's up to you if you wanna do it, but without it The Build Feels kinda like it's Missing one of Yang's core themes... *(not normal monk so you don't Loose out on 1 Base attack bonus, and if you do this you can also Choose NOT to take Brawler Rage power at lv 2 or Improved Unarmed Strike at lv 1 as you gain it's Benefits from Lv 1 Monk, if your DM is a Stickler for Alignment Restrictions, Take the Martial Artist Archetype to remove Alignment restrictions on the monk, Personally I'd prefer to Keep the Build as a Pure Barbarian with Fists by getting the special Permissions from the DM, but if you wanna power Build and be Absolutely by the Book, then I'd Suggest Dipping into 2-4 Levels of Unchained Monk/Martial Artist, for a few Monk Specific Abilites like style strike and Evasion as well as Bumping up your Base Damage Dice, but it'll slow down your Rage power and Duration Gains, and I'd only dip for 1 Level Till Lv 9 so you can get Elemental Rage ASAP, as that Power Kinda Builds the basis of this build's theme, Unless you absolutely want to get Evasion Right away, I won't Blame you)
Taking a break from the continuous demands for Jem, I’d highly appreciate it if you did a build for, say, Sam Spade aka the ur-example of the noir detective.

Tulok didn't mention this, but monk unarmoured defence and Barbarian unarmoured defence don't stack, which is one reason I went unarmed fighter, rather than monk.
the shade and puns this man throws are off the charts, keep up the good work
And yet Barb would put his quantity to shame...
The best part is Yang would be the first to laugh at the arm puns.
This build looks like it would be pretty handy in a fight. Gotta love it when playing something that is powerful even when disarmed.
Loved the video, just one thing no big deal WEISS WHEN!?!??
well, he's already done Ruby, so im guessing he'll work his way through the whole team eventually, and if you want her sooner, go join his Patreon so you can vote on characters that get covered
@@ChuckUFarley90 Weiss isn't an elf though.
@@clothar23 You can take Bladesinger without Elf with DM consent, which is not a house rule.
RWBY looks pretty cool. But know what's cooler? Equity among all people...
Also Anderson Cooper. What about a build for him
I lied to you. I said AC would be in the first video of June and I'm so sorry. 3rd video of June. Maybe
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 I'm waiting for there to be a lot of levels in Rogue, to call him a dashing rogue numerous times, and put him on the Inquisitive subclass.
"I'm gonna go on a LIMB here"
Too many arm puns. I love it!!
Finally, a character from ARMS

Episode #162 of the Fire Emblem stats: Yang Xiao Long.
She excels at brawling and bows since her weapons are shotgun gauntlets. Like Ruby, she has weaknesses that are covered by her other teammates. In her case, lances, swords, and faith.
She has weak magic stats but is very bulky in defense, strength, and charm.
@@joelsasmad Thanks.
I know the conventional wisdom is to not include magic items in these kinds of builds, but if a player in my game really wanted to base their chatacter on Yang I'd just let them go on a quest that ended with them getting a pair of magic gauntlets that have all the stats and benefits of a Sun Blade. Hell, if we're really worried about ridiculous things like "balance" just write it off as they took the "choose your own monk weapons" feature from the class variants UA and they chose longsword and brass knuckles as two of their new monk weapons.
so, just like the adora/catra build, and just like the harley/ivy build, you have to fall in love with the blake player once he finally makes a build for her too
destiny time
I'd actually really like to see a Mercury build, he has a really interesting weapon.
His dad was a bastard really.
Loved this video. You do amazing with references in RWBY videos lol. (Also do Jade from Beyond Good & Evil)
So many puns in this one, I only have 2 words to say:
GODDAMMIT BARB!!!
"If you're tired of Monk and Unarmed Combat then why do you keep asking for characters whose whole deal is punching?"
Nobody is tired. Keep 'em coming !
Awesome episode, I think you really got her attitude into her class build. Awesome !
I wasn't expecting Way of the 4 Elements, really, but it was way better than Sun Soul for this specific build, I guess.
Awesome!!
Can't wait to see the rest of Team RWBY.
So happy! Been hoping yang or Bokkigo would win a poll for a loooong time, thank u so much for making these awesome videos!
Gotta hand it to you, you really went out on a limb for those arm puns.

Also, if you use one of your ASIs for Magic Initiate, you can grab either Fire Bolt or Eldritch Blast (depending on your preference) to handle things at range, everybody's favorite cantrip True Strike, and Expeditious Retreat (which in this case can be an Expeditious Closing the Gap Without Needing to Use Ki).
We just need
Blake: Tabaxi Echo Knight fighter/Assassin Rouge
Weiss: Elf or 1/2 elf Bladesinger wizard or Collage of swords bard
Jaune: Variant Human (Tough feat?) Oath of Heroism Paladian
Phyra: Human (Revenant if your a horrible person). Battle Master Fighter? (no clue on how the polarity semblance would work)
Nora: Variant Human (Elemental Adept Lightning) Tempest Domain Cleric
Ren: Variant Human or Elf Hunter Conclave Ranger
(Anyone have ideas comment below)
i was honestly expecting vengeance paladin somewhere in here
I was expecting a two level dip into Artificer for a robot arm.
If there’s a Blake build there needs to be some levels in Echo Knight subclass!
Yes
Maybe! When I built her I used Way of Shadows Monk and Rogue Inquisitive. With Way of Shadows you can make illusion duplicates and the like but echo knight night be good too
That's an interesting combination, but the inquisitive rouge totally fits for a Blake build. @@randomim42
@@randomim42 the Blake in our short RWBY campaign was Swashbuckler Rogue 20.

This was right on time. I've been trying to build a unarmed brawler character for the last two weeks six other iterations until i saw this. Definitely going to use this. Love your videos by the way.
All these arm puns are unBEElievable
Still hoping for Symphogear one day.
Also thanks for all the hard work you always put in and I'm wishing you the best. Take care of yourself in this shitstorm of an era.
You should do Weiss and Blake and finish off Team RWBY!
Please?
For Weiss, my money's on a moon elf bladesinger (You have to be an elf to be a Bladesinger)
For Blake, definitely a Tabaxi, while class, I don't know, either an arcane trickster or that new fighter subclass, Matt Mercer made, an echo knight
Draco wolf dms are allowed to lift bladesinger race restrictions.
Yang would approve of all the puns in this episode. Good job Tulok
The arm puns were great, really gotta hand it to you
Love this build Tulok, absolutely stellar! Just now gonna have a void that I don't have Blake
I would have expected yang to have at least level 1 artificer since she is used as an example for one in official book.
And her gauntlets would fall into magic item
Amazing Build, my only objection is the Barbarian subclass, I would have gone for the Desert Storm Herald Barbarian since it lets you deal fire damage in an aura around you when you entrer rage and thats basically the fiery explosion Yang does when she activates her semblance. Also its a shame that charisma is so low, since yang is a goddess of puns, but that AC needs to be high to avoid getting any limbs cut off. Any *more* that is.
It does my heart good to see that the Yang episode has maximum "GOD DAMNIT BARB" levels of pun energy.
Kind suggestion for next video: Sol Badguy, the flame of coruption, from Guilty Gear. A nice fire fighter with maybe some monk abillities? Idk
Ps: pls, pretty pls. Love ya
@Titano Man XIII I could see it as a Fallen Aasimar skill or Tenser's Transformation. Assuming Sol can grab that spell.
I really gotta hand it to you I've been waiting for this glad you didn't cut it
This is good.
@@auroralraconteur3312 Or, just buy a set of gauntlets that allows you to deal fire/radiant damage with your melee attacks. Become more Yang-like
If memory serves Ebberon offers a mechanical arm that allows the user to cast Firebolt a certain number of times a day. That could be something.
I can’t wait to see a Blake build for this! I can see it a bit similar to the Catra build though, but I hope it has some unique options.
I don't know about that. He built Catra as a Champion/Berserker and was more about aggressive and reckless attacks, Blake is a lot more about grace, precision, and misdirection. I think she'd be an Echo Knight mixed with some variant of Rogue.
Looks like this video went out with a Yang
I commend you for this pun, good sir, but still an angry like
Take my like and never say this again
Barbara Pun-kelman would be proud with these puns.
This is lots of fun, thanks for doing the rwby stuff!
I had a build for her that is 3 levels of Barbarian for the desert Aura, then all the rest Sun Soul monk
Since the final season for Agents of SHIELD just started, I’d love to see a build for Phil Coulson or for Skye/Daisy/Quake
Quake would be so cool.
You know, I may have to build a STRonk sometime soon. Seems like it could be a lot of fun
the constant arm puns... I don't know how I feel, on the one hand, Yang does love puns. on the other hand... there is no other hand.
Great Yang build! Loved the army of puns!
Build requests: Neo (RWBY) and Entoma (Overlord)
Tulok I'm glad you're ok. I was worried about you. I enjoy your videos and hope you and all dnd fans stay safe.
By the gods... he truly was channeling Barbara Dunkelman throughout this episode...
So many puns.
The amount of puns in this video I imagine Barbara Dunkelman would be very proud
I know I keep asking for One Piece builds (and I'm not stopping), but Po from Kungfu Panda would be fun since we're talking about punching (is a belly slap a martial art?) Also would love to see Isaac from Castlevania.
I think yang would be proud about the amount of puns in this video
Still can’t get over how Neo is casually flexing on Yang in the background fight. Total Swashbuckler material right there.

Loved this! You should do Torchwick next!
"I think that's enough monkey business for now"
I thought you were building Yang, not Sun
GOD all those arm puns
they're disarming
Starting the video and expecting a Four Elements Monk and...I actually don’t know how you could capture Yang’s semblance...this is gonna be an interesting video!
Shit, I always forget that the Barbarian’s Rage requires you to either hit or get hit to keep it going! Zealot Barbarian is perfect!
"GOD DAMN IT BARB!" The puns were strong in this one
God, all this Neo v Yang footage makes me wanna see a Neo build...
Neo would probably be an echo Knight fighter with some levels in a spellcasting class to get some illusion spells.
Tulock, you forgot Yang's real source of power; Puns.
Perhaps she gains the Vicious mockery cantrip to inflict 1d4 damage on anyone who is in range of her bad jokes.
Barbara would be proud of this vid. I can't wait until there's one for Blake! She and Ruby are my faves
Give Neapolitan some love. I wanna see what you come up with to get the right mix of illusion and martial. Warlock, maybe?
I made a build that was the first 3 levels as Barbarian (Desert Aura), then all the rest as Sun Soul Monk. The 5 foot ranged attack aspect was fixed by the Crossbow Master feat.
I gess someone with this build is ARMED AND READY
Just want to say I am loving the arm puns

GOD DAMN IT BARB
Oh shit. We got more RWBY. Thanks daddy Tulok
I really like how the daughter of the most Monk-ish character in RWBY (Taiyang) and the literal leader of a band of roving and raiding Barbarians, turns out to be a multi-class of Monk/Barbarian.
"... well armed next time you play.., maybe."
Gotta give it to you, you started this one off with a "yang"
You should do Alex Louis Armstrong
Well, for that only a build PASSED DOWN THE ARMSTRONG LINE FOR GENERATIONS will do.
Slight problem with the Barbarian Unarmored Defense. Unlike standard AC calculations, where the player can choose the one that works best for them in any given situation, you can only gain the Unarmored Defense feature once. Which ever you gain first is the only one you can use.
From the Multi-classing rules, P.164 of the Players Handbook:
If you already have the Unarmored Defense feature, you
can't gain it again from another class.
I Tried my Hand at Building Yang for Pathfinder, and I Landed on a Savage Technologist Barbarian, The Archetyle has a few things that fit well with her.
First off you can use Guns and Melee Weapons at the same time, in fact it's Damn Near Obligatory, all you need is your DM's Permission to Either Make a pair of Pepperboxes LOOK like Gauntlets, OR that they Allow you to integrate Pepperboxes into Cesctus, Which isn't Much of a Stretch. if you can get that permission then the archetype Automatically gives you Two-Weapon Fighting, AND Prevents Attacks of Opportunity if you Shoot a gun in Melee, so Mix it up
Secondly the Savage Technologist's rage Works Differently than most Barbarians, For starters it Boosts Strength AND Dexterity Rather than Constitution, and it does not Give you an AC penalty, which is Fun because Yang Does not Loose her ability to React Defensively at all while she uses up her Semblance, in fact she just gets faster and dodgeyer.
Then Fire Pyre at lv 14 to cut down Status effect Duration in Half, nothing Keeps Yang Down, except Depression.... the last Few Levels you Fill out with Smasher to boost the Odds that Ground breaker will work, and your Choice of swift Foot and Raging Leaper as desired
For Feats Start off with Improved unarmed strike and Toughness at Lv 1, Get Dragon style at Lv 3 Her Name Means "Sunny little DRAGON" so this style is a Must, plus it's Effects Fit her perfectly as it Boosts the effects of Str on Melee Damage, at Lv 5 you either need to ask your DM for Permission to use the brawler Rage power as a replacement for Stunning fist for Dragon ferocity's Prerequisites, OR Level Dip into Unchained Monk for 1 level* , at Lv 7 you can Get Amateur Gunslinger so you can get Quick Clear so your Guns don't STAY Jammed after a Misfire, at Lv 9 Get Dragon shot to Allow your Guns to shot actual Fire same as what Yang Does, at this point you start Changing Tactics to show her training with her Dad after Volume 3, so at Lv 11 and 13 Respectively you could take Dodge and Mobility so you can start Taking Full advantage of that Dragon style by Bouncing from enemy to enemy between each attack while reducing personal Risks as you Make your Way to the Cowards in the back row... at Lv15 and/or 17 you can get Canny Tumble so you can Increase your Chances of hitting those Jittery Little Speed Machines (I MEAN YOU NEO!!!), and in the level you didn't take Canny Tumble take Sidestep so you can position yourself to Charge away at someone else When your Turn comes up without having your Target be in your Way and prevent your Charge, Finish off with Sliding Dash at Lv 19 for that little bit of Extra Mobility options.
You're Stuck with One element unless you wanna Divert from the theme (Yang can use Ice and Lightning dust if she wants, but she doesn't want to), Guns Can Jam and Spending a Rage Turn to Dejam it can be Extra Frustrating, You're Likely Soft stats so Skills and will saves will be low, if you went with the Monk Dip, you'll have low Wis and be unable to use Armor so your AC will be lower than Ideal even with your High Dex,
The only Real problem I have with this Build is that, as far as I know, Pathfinder does not have an option to allow you to Restrict Your Rage so you can't use it till you've Taken a certain amount of PUNishment, Which Means you're Stuck Restricting Yourself and not using your Most Efficient Tactic (Rage) For not other Reason that Just Straight up role Play, personally that's the Kind of thing that Would annoy me in combat, and I'd prefer to have an ACTUAL Restriction in the Mechanics possibly that offers a Slight benefit if you take it, such as More Total Rage Turns per Day on the condition you need to take hits to Charge it up, Like say you can Get a total of (3 X Level +Con) Rounds of rage per day in stead of (2 X Level + con), but the Pool starts at 0 at the start of every Fight, and you get 1 Round every time you get hit, and an Extra 1 Round for every 5 points of Damage you take (After DR is counted)...
Came here for the build. Face palmed as the puns rolled in.
If I may suggest... Dave Strider of Homestuck. Echo Knight seems to be a pretty good fit?
