The only reason I cannot believe that Loki ate the actual gomu-gomu no mi is due to Vegapunk saying that the fruit doesn't exist in the old devil fruit encyclopedia. As much as I would love that fight, it's just hard to see that as reality now.
If there was such a fruit with the king of giants, Saul would have known and there would have been a record on Ohara... And VP has read all the books on Ohara @@Memelord1117
@@Memelord1117 and it would be a very well kept secret since the fruit would only be passed down through the ruling family of Elbaf, so it makes sense that it wouldn't be in the encyclopedia
Loki above all else is the God of mischief, lies and stories. I think he has a fruit that's similar to Bonnie's in function, where he has the Lie-Lie fruit or something. Where Bonnie's was contingent on her belief of what she could become, Loki's could be on what he's able to convince others to be true. This does a few things: 1. It would allow him to use what he understands to be the powers of the sun God, or what he has told the people of Elbaf they are to be. 2. It takes advantage of Luffy's potential weakness of believing in others, and adds to the stakes if Luffy were to set him free. 3. It gives Usopp some further agency and connection to Elbaph, as that's his signature ability without the fruit, and surely this will be a strong Usopp arc.
I'm thinking something similar, but along the lines of a Fable Fable fruit (Story fruit) to go along with the Elbaf/Fable theme - where the user can embody a prominent character in a tall tale or legend, like the Sun God. Since Luffy is Nika, Loki could turn into Luffy, which might lead to the destruction of Fishman Island by Loki, not Luffy, as predicted. This also gives a nod to Loki being a trickster, being able to fool others with his transformation.
The devil fruits on Elbaf could be more Logia-based. Since Whole Cake Island was filled with Big Mom's crew having Paramecia-based powers, while Wano we had Kaido's crew with Zoan-based powers. That's just my theory
Honestly, this route would definitely be cool to see. I could see Loki thinking he is the Sun God because he has a logia df that turns him into solar plasma. The Sun Sun Df.
I think it's a Legendary Paramecia. If this Loki is anything similar to Marvel's Loki, then he is about trickery and deception. He utilizes illusions, shape-shifting, hypnosis, and telepathy. He can also levitate, teleport, create dimensional rifts, and manipulate objects with his mind. Loki from Marvel also came from Frost Giants, and is also "competing" to be king with a fellow peer, so there is a lot of similarities here.
@@thatboy3930 Adding in that Marvel copy/pasted that from actual Mythology, so it's not just Marvel. Learned this the other night by losing trivia to a mythology question. I Thought Thor was just a marvel character and not actually the "god of thunder" lmao. I had my friend that studies multiple variants of mythology (greek, norse, etc.) and he did mention Loki being a frost giant, about being god of trickery, etc... One thing he did mention (and I could be remembering this wrong, as well as too lazy to google it myself), was that he killed his father in norse mytholgy, but the being tied to a tree part came from greek mytholgy, also that he killed his brother instead of his father. This was bar talk so naturally I'm not remembering everything but I remember thinking they could build up a moment where Loki kills his brother (Hajrudin in this case) as my friend explained everything to me.
There are no less than SIX prominent wolves in Norse Mythology, and Skoll is the one that is trying/supposed to “devour the sun”, NOT Fenrir… that’s just “wiki scholars” conflating mythological wolves.
my guess as to why it feels like Logia fruit users haven't really done much lately is because 2 of our largest antagonist are Logia users being Sakazuki and Blackbeard. So Oda might be holding off on that for now
I'm still theorizing that the dark-dark fruit is actually a mythical zoan and upon awakening Blackbeard will become the God of Darkness. That would make him a direct counter to Luffy and it would explain why his fruit doesn't behave like any other Logia.
The most prominent Logia users are the admirals and blackbeard who haven't been the main antagonists of an arc since the Marineford war. All the new ones that have gotten introduced in the New World feel underwhelming compared to them
There's 2 points wrong with the Gomu Gomu no Mi theory. 1. The World Government knew they had the Nika fruit until Shanks' crew stole it. That was why Who's Who was imprisoned. 2. Vegapunk has stated there is no Gomu Gomu no Mi in the original Devil Fruit encyclopedia.
Well it's still possible that it's not in the encyclopedia because Elbaph is in a similar state as Wano and the real Gomu Gomu no mi has been falsely worshipped for hundreds of years
@@HappyChap9 It wasn`t in the old Devil Fruit Encyclopedia because the WG renamed it after finding out it`s true Powers and to hinder anyone from getting it, they just named it after its basic Traits..Being Rubber, hence the Gomu Gomu no Mi..Vegapunk didn`t have any clue how it looked like so he was only able to search for it by Name..That`s why the Gomu Gomu no Mi wasn`t in the Old Book, but the Hito Hito no Mi Model: Nika (it`s original Name) was, that`s how the WG found out about it and since very few have the Old One besides WG, Elbaph and Vegapunk, they could rename it into the Gomu Gomu no Mi (and printing it in the New Book which was edited and published by the WG to take out Void Century-Fruits of higher Meaning of the Book) without anyone knowing it`s true Origin and hunting it down..Till Shanks came around.
I love you mentioned the big snake... as you know, when giants used their last attack against giant goldfish... they mentioned it is one and only thing their attack cannot pierce ("Great serpent soaked in blood", chapter 129).
Here's an idea, what if Loki has the plasma plasma fruit. Ceasar has the gas gas fruit, so we know that "states of matter" fruits exist, and he hard counters smokers who is a type of gass user. So why not have a plasma fruit that counters fire, light, electricity (3 very stong logia fruits) and stars which includes the sun
Just my opinion, but I don't think Oda thought of Cesar's fruit in the sense of gas "the state of matter", but rather just gas "the element". For example, I don't think there's a "liquid" Logia or a "solid" Logia, since those would be far too general and include most substances by themselves.
@@jackjacques7495 i agree that i dont think solid or liquid would be a thing because they are too strong, but plasma only covers a couple of things and they are usually not naturally spawning
Yea im leaning towards plasma fruit with oda canonizing the zuma zuma fruit but i also feel like whatever loki's fruit is he or the big bad of the arc may need to have the power to cause a solar eclipse to usher in Ragnarok imo
Hito hito no mi model surtur. Makes the most sense. If I recall correctly in certain legends he's said to be the primary reason to Ragnarok happening or at least one of them. It would also make sense with the Will of the Devil Fruit since it has to uphold to prophecy about destroying the world.
Ngl, just had the same thought. If Hajrudin had gotten Aces's fruit he would have become a fire giant... A FIRE GIANT. If we're assuming that Loki's fruit is similar in any kind of way, that's one step towards Surtr already. Add that to wanting to destroy the world, Loki and Surtr being basically the beginning and end of Ragnarok, and the GIANT SWORD SITTING RIGHT THERE... yeah, the chances of a Surtr fruit are quite high
I think the same. I could also see why they needed every giant to stop him. Surtur is considered a giant fire demon or fire giant. It would be the equivalent of Sanjuan Wolf and his Huge-Huge Fruit, but even more OP with an even more OP person using a fruit that makes you bigger. I think we might get a hint at it being surtur if we see one or two giants with burns.
he has the Fear Fear fruit. Nothing would be more legendary to a kingdom of warriors obsessed with bravery and pride. the fruit might give the user control over others fear. plus it will fit with Usopp's quest to overcome fear and become a brave warrior. fits thematically
Honestly, it would be SO much funnier if he had a fear-fear fruit that just induced fear towards the user if their will is weaker and gives the user control over everyone that fears him. But he is the nicest guy around and doesnt realize he is actively manipulating people because he doesnt understand how the fruit works.
If this was True that he Has the Fear-Fear Fruit Just Imagine He Could Manifest A Will So Powerful That He Could Actually Become That Will, Unless someone has Weird Fears And Loki Just Becomes A Looney Toon Anything is possible it's one piece.
My idea is that Loki's devil fruit would be some unfair-type op fruit like Perona's or Sugar's. That way Usopp can play an important role in defeating him xdd
And it would also allow for regular metal chains to be effective to stop him, if the power is like "touch with your hands and turn them into a toad" or something
Some mythology info- Ragnarok is implied to have happened, BUT only because the primary source we have on the myth was written by someone trying to create a shared norse cultural identity (he wanted his native iceland to join up with norway) and everything he wrote has to be examined for bias due to that. For example after ragnarok bauldur and his brother show up again (they died long before ragnarok) along with 2 humans in an adam and eve situation, and several points in the book refer to a god of light and everything good in a way that is clearly shoehorning in christianity, while in other places it uses all the good things Baldur is associated with to create a similar parallel, ie the world ends but no worries we have the god of all the good stuff still hear, with some humans to repopulate. This also points to Snorri, writing the whole thing with Ragnarok intended to be a good thing, a cleansing apocalypse that paves the way for the good world we currently live in. Other notes- Fenrir doesn't eat the sun or moon, Skoll and Hati do, I forget if they are fenrir or loki's kids but they aren't Fenrir.
One thing that would be cool is when Oda reveals Loki's devil fruit he takes a page from Toriyama's book of designing Frieza's final form, a "less is more" kind of approach. Something that while not necessarily making him smaller leads to a strong juxtaposition to the rest of Elbaf
I think there was an instance when the true nature of Luffy's DF was revealed where the Gorosei went like "there never was a Gomu Gomu no Mi". Like yeah they represent peoples' dreams and people can wish to be rubbery but it would be super weird for the world government's head honchos to not be aware of this fruit and then accidentally pass off a god fruit as this fruit that also exists but they dont know about.
Jarul is 408, giants would enter the void century in terms of their age in a MERE two generations. It's passed down as an heirloom by a royal family in a separatist country, unlike most other fruit that would be popping up all over the place in the span of 800 years, it makes sense that it would be undocumented by any text Vegapunk has ever read, or even the WG.
@@leafshade3643 You are assuming that prior to the void century devil fruits didnt exist. Sure, the oldest confirmed uses we know are from the void century (hito hito model nika, toki toki no mi, Imu's fruit(assuming it is a fruit) and the Ope ope no mi all have been consumed or used in that time, maybe I'm forgetting one or 2 since Ryuma could have lived during that time and the dragon he killed was a devil fruit user). But there is nothing telling us Devil Fruits didnt exist at all prior to that. Yeah, there is an implication that either Imu or Joyboy (or both) are responsible for creating devil fruits, but other than that, it could have been prior to both existing too.
Given the narrative that’s been followed through the arc, I think Loki’s devil fruit is whatever war god the giants worship. Looking at Norse Mythology, the surface level answer would be Týr, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if the god they worship is the namesake of their island, Elbaph.
The giants' God of War is indeed called Elbaf. It was revealed back in the Little Garden arc. I looked it up recently in the original Japanese and it quite clearly mentions the god by name. Seeing as the island shares the name of their war god, it would be fitting for a fruit of their god to also be passed down in the royal family.
As I understand it Ragnarok has already happened and will happen again as the world will repeat itself, like a cycle of life and death, Ragnarok destroys the World tree and after that the world is remade and the World tree grows once again.
i think ragnarok will be more than that i think its going to be the down fall of imu and the celestial dragons ragnarok legit means "the doom of the gods"
Imagine if he ate a Ymir fruit. "From Ymir's flesh the earth was formed, and from his bones the hills, the heaven from the skull of that ice-cold giant, and from his blood the sea."
FENRIR is known to be able to burn thing with his eyes of fire. LOKI is chained up like FENRIR, his big tongue is out like those giant wolfs under the wood bridge AND HIS EYES ARE COVERED UP ... I'm not a detective but it's really pointing to a FENRIR Zoan I think.
@@creativeprovocateur001 Enel feels a little like a Frieza kind of villan, that if he have actually trained himself and his devilfruit powers during the time he has been off page he could probably do some damage when he comes back. Since he was that strong without ever training to begin with.
Here's a possibility, the real Gomu Gomu no mi is unrecorded because the fruit has been falsley worshipped by Elbaphians for hundreds of years. I believe the issue on Elbaph isn't about a big bad but rather false gods on Elbaph, and Luffy becoming their real sun god.
I refuse to believe there isn't an actual Gum-Gum Fruit somewhere out there in the world thanks to the World Government accidentally wishing it into being when they censored the Nika fruit!
I really like the idea of surtur being his devil fruit mainly for 2 reasons: 1) He is literally a fire related mytical creature 2) Follows Oda trend of increasing the size of the main antagonist since surtur can increase his size to the size of the world
what i like about the crazy idea of the motheer flame is that it would become a fight of, not only the meaning of the sun and the power of the sun, but also about which one will persist, joy or war
It's also possible that Loki's fruit has no relation at all to Norse Mythology but is a power that is simple assumed to be something Myth related, kinda like how Giants are often tied into Norse Mythology when in reality, they had nothing to do with. The Giants are from Greek Mythology, they were created by Gaia to be the antithesis to the Olympian gods. What people often mistake for Giants in Norse Mythology were called Jotnar, who were not giants, but the antithesis of the Aesir/Vanir gods.
I gotta say im so glad loki lived up to the myth. A few chapters ago everyone was so convinced that Loki was gonna be a disappointment but instead we got a peak character design
I think a paramecia type trickster fruit would be cool. Obviously Loki is known as the trickster god of norse mythology but it goes deeper than that. The trickster uses his reality bending powers to play cruel tricks on people that only make himself laugh, this trait would make him a perfect false Nika who also breaks the rules of reality but spreads joy and laughter to others.
interesting idea about ragnarok (sorry if this was already mentioned): it would be interesting if the giants saw the red line as a sort of world serpent, which would also tie into the idea of ragnarok beginning with the world serpent releasing its tail from its mouth, or in the case of one piece, the red line being destroyed, just like Shyarly said would happen in the fishman island saga, thus triggering ragnarok aka the last big war previously mentioned by kaido after whitebeards death… (regardless of whether or not this is going to be canon, it sounds like an interesting idea to me)
I find it hard to be the Gomu Gomu no Mi as Vegapunk seemed to be fairly certain that such a fruit doesn’t exist. Unless it’s a fruit with similar stretchy powers but a totally different name like the Stretchy Stretchy Fruit or something. We still have no clear idea why the weird errors were happening in the Lego castle, right? Why Luffy’s weapon kept changing, why Nami’s bracelet disappeared, Zoro didn’t get lost, and that one panel when they attacked the cat that clearly referenced an earlier attack from Alabasta, etc. If that wasn’t an effect from Road himself, perhaps Loki’s fruit subtly alters reality and brings stories to life but is imperfectly used so long as he is chained up?
Loki was a trickster in mythology, typically using illusion magic (unless im thinking of marvel loki but i think its both) so it would be interesting to see a unique shapeshifting paramecia or something of the sort.
Why hasnt anyone mentioned that last chapter from little garden when dorry and broggy bust a hole in the giant goldfish, and before that they say ,,only the serpent soaked in blood can withstand our attack,, . They believe he killed his father, therefore hes soaked in blood. I am convinced they are talking about Loki, but could this mean he also has the jormugandr fruit?
I think it's because It's not possible for them to have known about Loki's powers by then. They were fighting for a hundred years in Little Garden and Loki wasn't even born yet. So in Little Garden It was not possible for them to know about Loki's existence neither his powers.
Yeah, I lot of people overlook that Oda revealed Loki'a age a long time ago. He's 63, like Goldberg and Road, so he was born long after Dorry and Broggy started their 100-year duel in Little Garden. Ie they didn't even know Loki existed during the Little Garden arc.
I suggest a couple of other fruits: - Ginnungagap Ginnungagap no mi (working title). the Ginnungagap is the void at the beginning of time. but this might be too similiar to black beards fruit tho. - Útgarða no mi: noticable there was a giant in north mythology called Útgarða-Loki (
Sol,< moon Mani< sun loki is a god of mischief but his story is more like oden both had power of illusions and considering someone already ate the darkness fruit..... I would say some kind of pacifying ability the theme is betrayal and double. Considering. Lucy is the way that he is loki has the power to convince you up anything like oden being able to pacify anything loki playing his tricks and Sol,< the moon god equal to her brother mani< god of sun< he needs to be able to look you in your eyes.< theme of Owen's carm Lori's tricks and walk the line with hints given. It's. The sibling to the darkness fruit.
I want Loki to have the true gum-gum fruit...can you imagine, he's freed by Luffy not knowing he's a bad guy some giants show up to try and stop him, and we just have Loki stretch his arm back and shout "GUM-GUM PISTOL!" (or something other than pistol) and just watch Luffy be so surprised at seeing Loki do what he can do
This is easily the most prolific "theory" on his fruit I have seen by far (and I'm in a lot of OP related discussion spaces) and tbh no, that'd make this awesome character intro a damn gag, no ty. Idk. Would be sorta funny but I doubt oda would tbh
@@BlitzedKip420 Don't worry, that won't happen. These guy seems to collectively have forgotten that Vegapunk confirmed that there is no such thing as a gomu gomu no mi.
I really like the idea of loki having a sun sun fruit, then similar to your mother flame idea, having the actual sun vs the symbolic meaning of the sun
Since the ancient kingdom was so advanced, nuclear energy might have been common place way back 800 years ago. If we're going off the idea of Loki wielding the raw power of the sun, paramecia that turns Loki into a reactor that can fire off entire solar flares would be pretty fitting and unique. I'm assuming in One Piece it would take the form of a bunch of high power lasers and explosions like Godzilla style.
My theory is that Loki has a Jotuun jotuun no mi that gives him the power to affect the environment and give those who look into his eyes to be given illusions and tricked. This could probably be linked to jormungandir as a zoan model And he could probably use ice as a narrative antithesis to Sun God aspect of the gomu gomu no mi and in ragnarök Midgard snowed like crazy hence the heavy snow in elbaf and around Loki.
7:40 Couldn't agree more. A Katakuri type villain would be great as a contrast to Kaido with his raid boss ahh healthbar. His fruit is pretty wack, but he uses all aspects to his advantage.
I came in thinking loki might have some kind of logia that is related to the sun, basically one upping the magma fruit, like the plasma-plasma fruit, but now I also want loki to be a gomu-gomu eater as well.
3:28 Ragnarok has POSSIBLY already happened. So in traditional Norse mythology Ragnarok hasn't happened HOWEVER when the Jesus fan club showed up to spread the good word that changed. See after the events of Ragnarok 2 humans would be left 1 man & 1 woman who would start the new age of humanity. This sounds like the Adam & Eve story from the Bible so the Christian missionaries said "yeah so your gods/mythology already happened & we are all actually living post Ragnarok".
For me, it's a fruit that makes his listeners believe his stories. So GOD Lysop is going to out lie him, in so becoming the legendary warrior lyspo acknowledged by all giants.
What if the legendary fruit of Loki's father is responsible for them being a giant. Loki killed his father after Lola rejected him thinking it is because they are not the same, Loki a giant and Lola, normal human. Loki forced his father to return them to their normal human size but he was rejected again. I think Loki didnot eat the df and sealed it to cut the historical sequece of being giant.
3:23 this is solely based on one source i'm familiar with, so take it with a grain of salt, but, while the events of ragnarok are described as being merely visions of odin for an upcoming event, our modern world probably exists in a post ragnarok area. the events post ragnarok are suspiciously christianity inspired, with the world being destroyed and repopulated by the only two remaining people, a man and a woman (obvious parallels to adam and eve), and the surviving divine beings coming together under the leadership of the revived baldr, a god of justice and goodness, nicknamed "the shining one" (obvious parallels both to jesus's resurrection and to the christian god). so the basic idea is that the old gods died during ragnarok, and that after ragnarok the new christian pantheon and our current world order came into power. now, it's important to remember that we don't really have much first-hand information about the original nordic beliefs, and most of what we have is a propaganda piece, written by a guy in order to try to reunite iceland and norway, so he probably wrote it in such a manner to pacify both sides and combine the two religions into one continuous narrative.
I saw a theory video on this, and it makes so much sense. Back in Little Garden, where we met Dorry and Bragi, they told us that they worship their God of War Elbaph. This deity is important enough in Giant culture as it is their top deity that is even above Nika. This prmonance makes me thing that the fruit Loki ate... Is the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Elbaph!
I think it being the actual gomu gomu no mi would make sense because it would be a good entry point to introduce the straw hats to the hito hito no mi and give them an actual explanation to gear 5
I still don't understand why Greenbull's fruit is considered Logia when it seems far closer to a Special Paramecia like Katakuri's Mochi fruit. It's not like Logia are mandatory for Admirals since Fujitora has a gravity based Paramecia.
@@Ashtarte3D the point is that what we used to think logia's was just elements like sand and fire but Greenbull changed that with is forest fruit, so maybe like how paramecia's have special paramecia's and zoan's have mythic and ancient, maybe there are standard logia's that have just one element then there are ones like Greenbulls where it represents an environment or parts of nature and have extra powers associated with that, like a mountain logia or a sky logia (i couldn't think of any good examples) also I've just remembered Caribous swamp fruit so maybe i'm onto something lol
3:25 this is actually an interesting question. Short answer, we don't know. We know actually rather little about norse mythology, despite what one might think with the ammount of it we have in pop culture, . There are arguments that can be made that Ragnarok already happend, but the things pointing to that could be additions made by christian monks. The version we have does end with only 2 humans surviving and Baldr coming back to life, a god of purity and light. This is extremly christian coded and could have beend included to explain to the population why they should worship this "new" god now. Funnily enough Loki himself is a very paradoxical figure in the mythology. To a point where one could raise the question if he was originally part of norse mythology, or a later edition by christian monks aswell.
There is some stuff from northern mythology I would love to see. - the nail ship -valkyries -Loki having a family of his own. - mimir. The well-thinking noggin
I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a Paramecia fruit. The arguments you mentioned against Logia and Zoan are pretty valid. I still think the fruit will revolve around seeing the future. That's why Loki's eyes are covered because he still needs to see in order for his powers to work and his apparent madness would make sense too in that case. And he saw his own future in which he plays an important roll in the destruction of the world.
Correction; The official interprets (not confirms, they are not accuracy checked by Shueisha after all, and are more often than not the incorrect translation between official and scans) it as that is what is said, and if so the only thing it confirms is that the Elbaf Pirates are under the belief Loki ate the fruit.
A metal based logia with paramecia characteristics after awakening would be cool. Giants are known for their durability so the option to make themself turn into either liquid mercury or reinforced metal would be dope imo. As paramecia it can manipulate all metals and shape or transform them into whatever form is most beneficial for the situation. It also fits with the chains he has. Since Loki is the god of mischief and deception, metal can be a great tool with it's wide range of use. This would also make Loki resistant to lots of diff weather conditions since temp or weather conditions have diff effects depending on the type of metal it comes into contact with.
To touch on your idea at the end. What if....in Ch.1 when Shanks had the gum gum fruit, he was transporting it to elbaf for the Giants or he somehow knew of Loki's ambition and that the fruit wasn't safe in the Giants hands and took it to possibly give it to Ace as he thought he'd be a better suiter for the fruit. All in all, Shanks switched the fruit out of paranoia and his plans were foiled by a hungry Luffy.
Sleipnir an 8 legged horse that Loki gave birth to(yep, transformed into a female horse and did it with a stallion) that could move through the boundaries of space
What if the devil fruit Loki ate allows him to shape-shift. So he can shapeshift into the sun-god but in reality its just a fake. This would line up with some of Loki's norse mythology powers (specifically his ability to shapeshift and do trick-sy Loki things). For One-Piece, this could mean he could end up being a culmination of all the zoan fights luffy has fought before, cause he could be a big wolf fenrir, he could be a giant snake yormungunder (however you spell the big snake name), and finally he could shape shift into a giant version of Nika when he sees Luffy doing it, only to point and call him fake. Like in terms of fruit type... what if its legendary because its a mix? It could be both Zoan and Paramecia?
I don’t think the mother flame fruit could exist, because vegapunk said the fruits were made from desires centuries ago, and the mother flame was invented recently
It definitely could, but not as the Mother Flame as we know it. Like if Loki had a fruit to create Fusion that would certainly be something all powerful while also being something science related that Vegapunk sought to create.
No vegapunk just made fake copies from the ancient kingdom even fake knock off devil fruit not invent anything just read a lot of books and remade stuff no different than learn how to make videos on youtube you not inventing anything
I heard an argument (I believe it was Mr. Morj) that Loki ate the Hito Hito no Mi, model Lunarian. Honestly, considering that Lunarians were once considered gods, I find the idea at least worth considering. I also want to point out that Doflamingo coated the SMILE factory in sea prism stone, so now I'm wondering which holds more of the stuff: the factory walls or Loki's chains.
I just HOPE Loki will NOT have another zoan. I'm tired of them. I hope in a paramecia too tbh. I think they are usually the most creative type but can't imagine what power could be.. Or maybe, wouldbe cool to see the awakening of a rogia from him!
I want him to have a Paramecia because, yes, I'm also a bit tired of Zoans, but also, Liam didn't mention we're set to have so many Logia users gather during the final arcs, which is probably why Oda has been holding back on them for now. Akainu, Kizaru, Kuzan, Green Bull, Blackbeard, Crocodile, Sabo, Karasu, and maybe Dragon if it's true he has the Wind Logia. All of them are set as big participants during the final conflict, which is probably why Oda has been focusing on the other 2 types for a while.
Here’s a little idea I came up with: What if in this arc with Loki, we challenge what exactly a mythical Zoan is, if the dragon fruit is a mythical zoan, but dragons exist, like in punk hazard, what’s the deal? What if mythical zoan fruits are mythical if they are not believed to be real, and so what if stories of this Loki figure have spread throughout the world, making myths out of him. What if Loki ate his own devil fruit?
You can say ate ass. Ate butt makes people think you're 12 years old on your mom's computer, typing quickly before she comes back from buying lotto scratchers
I’ve always had a concept of a legendary logia in the back of my mind, the sun sun fruit, a logia that has the properties of magma, fire, and plasma. It would make sense for Loki to have a fruit like this since it relates to fire and the sun. Also due to its logia properties, Loki can become a fire giant.
I love the idea it's a mixture of Fenrir and Sultan (sorry if I misspelled them) from Norse lore. Oda usually combines myths and legends to make his characters and him being tied up in chains is exactly how Fenrir was in the lore, and according to the lore not only does he kill Odin but when he is realeased Ragnarok will be begin. Also Finrir is known for killing Odin (Loki killed his dad which we all assume to be Odin) Add the giant sword that Surtar is usually dipected with (think Thor Love and Thunder from Marvel) and Elpath just so happens to have a giant sword. Mix those 2 together and we have One Piece Loki
Everyone's talking only about what Loki's devil fruit is (which I do want to know), but I'm also interested in how exactly this devil fruit is "passed down" through the royal family. How does that work exactly? When a king dies, does everyone look through all the trees, fruit stores and kitchens in the kingdom in hopes of finding the one that turned into the devil fruit? Is it even confirmed that a DF reincarnates in the same island it's previous user died? I think it happened with Smiley, but who knows if it's always that way. I'm pretty curious about how that works, and I think it could be an interesting video.
Something that i dont think you, or others, have thought about is that norse is well known for specific weapons. For Ussop, This is a big. Gungnir is a spear that never misses.Imgaine if thats the next evo for kabuto. Mjornir is a powerful hammer, and Usopp using hammers has been hinted since arlong pirates (with it going from a regular [Usopp] hammer to "bigger" ussop mallets).
From what I've seen loki is depicted stuck under the world tree now in Norse mythology there is something that is always depicted under the world tree, a fire breathing dragon to protect its roots
Two things: 1) I'm getting similar vibes from Loki and what he did to his father, as I got from Blackbeard when he took Thatches fruit. There is heavy emphasis that the fruit was obtained by eating the prior user. 2) Until proven otherwise my favorite fruit idea is that Sun God is just a title for the king of Elbaph and that his actual devil devil fruit is a mythical zoan of a Nidhog, the dragon that threatens the death of the world tree. So it's not a fruit that can end the whole world, just a fruit that's specifically designed to kill the Giant's world, Yggdrasil.
Now that you mention it, Jormungandur doesnt make anything close to sense for this devil fruit, but if it comes to pass that lowering the water levels is at least part of the goal of overthrowing the World Government, an actual ancient Jormungandur-esque Sea King waking up and giving all the surviving characters a last chance to get their best shots in would make for chapters worth of amazing panels, and a really really fun victory lap
The best theory so far me is the hito hito no mi model: lunarian as per dawn dusk, being 1) It's a concept well within the one piece and at the same time does not fully copy the norse mythology, 2) lunarian and surtr similarities - no further explanation on this. 3) Loki has lunarian tattoos on his shoulders.
I like the mythical zoan logic. Especially fenrir, since it has a nice theme of Sun devouring. I also wanna think theres a chance Black Beard swoops in at the end of this arc to take it as a part of series of events that leads to the great war
I liked the idea of Jorgmungandr on a thematic parallel, however you're totally right that we have had way too many mythicals as of late. And I kinda think Oda is tired of them too when you look back at Zoro's comment against I think Kaku in Egghead essentially saying he's tired of dealing with zoans. Though ngl, I still feel like Loki may not be the true antagonist of the arc, like design wise he's hardcore looking. But something about him just kinda gives me Katakuri vibes ig?
I would honestly rather prefer Loki have no devil fruit it’s been a while since a main villain doesn’t just use weapons or haki and that would fit perfectly with the giants who have a very independent strength type battle centric culture where they wouldn’t want to rely on a devil fruit
I think its a reality altering fruit that allows the user to make people see whatever they want them to see, kinda like that dark haired chick on that old HEROS(save the cheerleader save the world)show. Thats why his eyes are bandaged probably
That is a quite interesting theory. Swapping of devil fruits and misinterpretation. Nevery thought of that. I hope Oda has the same idea, because it sounds quite interesting.
I think his devil Fruit would reflect his Norse Mythology routes. I think a giant wolf would be perfect for him because like you said, Mythical DFs can do anything you want. If you Google "Norse Mythology Loki Powers," You first get some basic stuff like super strength, stamina, intelligence and is a master Swordsman. All that is something he could already have, no DF required. But dig deeper and we see Shapeshifting, Illusion casting, Sorcery and even electric manipulation. The legendary wolf powers could give him electric powers like the Mink tribe, but the shapeshifting, Illusions and sorcery can be grouped into one and can be cast from his eyes. That's why he's blindfolded.
I don't see why there couldn't be a "sun-sun" fruit. It could be the legendary pinnacle of the "fire theme" that could burn magma like magma burns fire.
I feel like he has the "hito hito no: model Ymir", Ymir in the norse mythology is the world giant whose sweat created the 9 realms. Ymir was later killed by his Odin.
I'm on the Syrtur camp. Ever since we saw the giant sword. But.....his eye bandages make me weary..... I could see a Hymdall fruit being used. It gives him an unlocked advanced future sight. (Which is why Shanks had to learn his ability to stop future sight) And a nasty portal/bifrost ability.
The only reason I cannot believe that Loki ate the actual gomu-gomu no mi is due to Vegapunk saying that the fruit doesn't exist in the old devil fruit encyclopedia. As much as I would love that fight, it's just hard to see that as reality now.
Maybe the gum gum hasn't been discovered, cause how did they come up with that name in the first place?

Loki above all else is the God of mischief, lies and stories. I think he has a fruit that's similar to Bonnie's in function, where he has the Lie-Lie fruit or something. Where Bonnie's was contingent on her belief of what she could become, Loki's could be on what he's able to convince others to be true. This does a few things:
@@CapObv I think it should be called Saga Saga fruit instead. To be in line with Norse influence in this arc.
cool theory
The devil fruits on Elbaf could be more Logia-based. Since Whole Cake Island was filled with Big Mom's crew having Paramecia-based powers, while Wano we had Kaido's crew with Zoan-based powers.
That's just my theory
Maybe like a logia mimicking them the Sun. The Sun Sun Df. That would be insane and I'd definitely see why Loki would call himself the Sun God.
This was bar talk so naturally I'm not remembering everything but I remember thinking they could build up a moment where Loki kills his brother (Hajrudin in this case) as my friend explained everything to me.

my guess as to why it feels like Logia fruit users haven't really done much lately is because 2 of our largest antagonist are Logia users being Sakazuki and Blackbeard. So Oda might be holding off on that for now
Agreed. Not to mention Dragon is very likely a Logia user too, and boy has Oda been saving him for the end XD.
I'm still theorizing that the dark-dark fruit is actually a mythical zoan and upon awakening Blackbeard will become the God of Darkness. That would make him a direct counter to Luffy and it would explain why his fruit doesn't behave like any other Logia.

Ceasar.
1% Evil 99% Hot Gas
But Cesar wasn't a solid logia antagonist

So Imu must be some kind of rain deity? Rising water levels and stuff
@@NameHerbertQuetzalcoatl perhaps? Would be a snake too
I think the same. I could also see why they needed every giant to stop him. Surtur is considered a giant fire demon or fire giant. It would be the equivalent of Sanjuan Wolf and his Huge-Huge Fruit, but even more OP with an even more OP person using a fruit that makes you bigger. I think we might get a hint at it being surtur if we see one or two giants with burns.
no it doesnt make any sense surtur and loki are distinct persons in norse mytholodgy
To be fair, Zoans have only gotten so abundant after Wano. Before that, Paramecias and Logia’s had most of Post Time Skip’s relevance.
most are fake smile fruits as well
he has the Fear Fear fruit. Nothing would be more legendary to a kingdom of warriors obsessed with bravery and pride. the fruit might give the user control over others fear. plus it will fit with Usopp's quest to overcome fear and become a brave warrior. fits thematically
Usopp is gonna have a bigger and better "you can't stop me, I already live I'm fear all the time!"
Honestly, it would be SO much funnier if he had a fear-fear fruit that just induced fear towards the user if their will is weaker and gives the user control over everyone that fears him. But he is the nicest guy around and doesnt realize he is actively manipulating people because he doesnt understand how the fruit works.
Loki being a perona parrallel isnt what i was expecting but okay

Maybe Skoll and Hati are Loki's underlings. Or just one of them with a "double" mythical zoan

Since the ancient kingdom was so advanced, nuclear energy might have been common place way back 800 years ago.
I called it right now, it's gonna be logia water
I think it being the actual gomu gomu no mi would make sense because it would be a good entry point to introduce the straw hats to the hito hito no mi and give them an actual explanation to gear 5
What if he had a sun logia, if greenbull can have a forest logia, then Loki could have a sun logia
how would that work? nuclear powers?
wouldnt everything around him just like dissapear from the heat 😭
I still don't understand why Greenbull's fruit is considered Logia when it seems far closer to a Special Paramecia like Katakuri's Mochi fruit. It's not like Logia are mandatory for Admirals since Fujitora has a gravity based Paramecia.
@@Ashtarte3D the point is that what we used to think logia's was just elements like sand and fire but Greenbull changed that with is forest fruit, so maybe like how paramecia's have special paramecia's and zoan's have mythic and ancient, maybe there are standard logia's that have just one element then there are ones like Greenbulls where it represents an environment or parts of nature and have extra powers associated with that, like a mountain logia or a sky logia (i couldn't think of any good examples)
also I've just remembered Caribous swamp fruit so maybe i'm onto something lol
Amazing video like usual. Love hearing you talk about fictional pirates
To a point where one could raise the question if he was originally part of norse mythology, or a later edition by christian monks aswell.
i take it you're subscribed to red as well?

There is some stuff from northern mythology I would love to see.
- the nail ship
-valkyries
-Loki having a family of his own.
- mimir. The well-thinking noggin
I believe that the Giant sword in the tree is a supreme grade blade!!!
Loki ate the resin fruit. He can turn into rubber but also be liquid
Zoro got lost at 0:50
I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a Paramecia fruit.
Great video like always❤
It was only out for 3 minutes 😂😂😂😂

To touch on your idea at the end.
What if....in Ch.1 when Shanks had the gum gum fruit, he was transporting it to elbaf for the Giants or he somehow knew of Loki's ambition and that the fruit wasn't safe in the Giants hands and took it to possibly give it to Ace as he thought he'd be a better suiter for the fruit. All in all, Shanks switched the fruit out of paranoia and his plans were foiled by a hungry Luffy.
You always know how to make a great video!
Sleipnir an 8 legged horse that Loki gave birth to(yep, transformed into a female horse and did it with a stallion) that could move through the boundaries of space
The hito hito no no model the godliest god usopp
Here’s a little idea I came up with:
What if in this arc with Loki, we challenge what exactly a mythical Zoan is, if the dragon fruit is a mythical zoan, but dragons exist, like in punk hazard, what’s the deal? What if mythical zoan fruits are mythical if they are not believed to be real, and so what if stories of this Loki figure have spread throughout the world, making myths out of him. What if Loki ate his own devil fruit?
What if someone in the One piece would theoretically “eat butt” would they acquire DF powers
I think you're having a stroke
You can say ate ass. Ate butt makes people think you're 12 years old on your mom's computer, typing quickly before she comes back from buying lotto scratchers

12:25 I love this idea of giant rubber man 😂
Didn't vegapunk say that he never saw the gomu gomu no mi in any encyclopaedia?
cp9 ate two not listed as well so rubber fruit can turn up in future even if not here.
Loki has the dog dog fruit model Chihuahua. He turns into the smallest dog ever but he sure is a fearsome foe
I thought it just transfers to the closest fruit it can find. Not a random one. Which would make it easy to pass down the lineage.
Maybe Loki ate some sort of logia/ zoan sunsun fruit, this fruit could turn the user into some sort of giant made of what the sun is made of
Loki having the ACTUAL gomu gomu no mi is genius. Until the reveal, I'd go for this in my head canon >.>
Two things:
1) I'm getting similar vibes from Loki and what he did to his father, as I got from Blackbeard when he took Thatches fruit.
The idea of a Mother Flame logia is very interesting because maybe its awakening could be linked to why the iron giant started moving 200 years ago
The best theory so far me is the hito hito no mi model: lunarian as per dawn dusk, being
1) It's a concept well within the one piece and at the same time does not fully copy the norse mythology,
2) lunarian and surtr similarities - no further explanation on this.
Man, almost every single fruit becomes so incredible if used by a Giant, now imagine an actual legendary fruit? Loki is gonna go crazy in this arc
