Thanks so much for this video! I have been looking for this kind of a solution for years for my iPad! I have a home studio where I record in a different room from my studio equipment. I always wanted to make sure that I was recording without having to peek into the other room. This is awesome!

Well here is my reason for jump. Having the ability to use a laptop while being disabled has been a blessing to keep my mind occupied. I have just started using Logic for creating music, so I don't know about using 30TB of data or limited functionality of jump. It's a great thing for me...

Great video. I've been doing a budget version of this for few years now. I use Teamviewer and Sonobus to stream audio, and when I throw in Slate VSX on a master bus and take my headphones with me I can actually do some mixing as well.

Do computers wear out faster when staying on and asleep for long periods of time?
This is cool, it does restrict you to in the box mixes also, this wouldnt be possible if a particular mix uses hardware in order to bounce a stem etc. Very Cool!
I use it with hardware. You are controlling your studio machine remember.

That’s all you need is an iPad Pro with tb of memory..not only can you use pro logic but you will have many pro synth on hand such as Korg,Roland,Novation,moog..just also get an 88 keyboard controller..and your set…you won’t have to pay per month ..ect..ect..my music is all done this way..cheers..
Could possibly secure it through a SSH tunnel? I used to run VNCs securely this way years ago but it’s been a minute.

Great video Woody any desk also work for doing this thing I’m not trying to downplay the app but it would at what I have installed on my computer so I think that I could try it out also the audio movers plug-in seems to be a good option and it’s what is used to all the time and I wonder what is the difference in quality between the audio movers and sono bus
I thought anydesk required a subscription. From what i found this was the only one that did a fantastic job with no subscription fee.
Well I guess it does require a subscription however I have the free version and I can easily connect to other computer of my friends and they can connect to mine whenever I have a problem with any program like Reaper which is a DAWR use so I think it would be the same plus a friend of mine told me that he has aini 💕 desk in his phone so he can control his computer with this app so I don’t really know what features has been locked if you don’t pay the subscription I have never tried that version before also have you ever heard of SonoBus VST plug-ins it also works in your phone

I’m an affiliate and couldnt get the thing to work. I like a few waves plugs. But $8/month it should work really well and it doesn’t.
windows does this natively with remote desktop, and you can control it for free with your phone with an app like RDClient
Umm, MY elephant in the room is: how SAFE is this thing? Imagine some guy in Russia connecting to your studio computer and erasing 30 Terabyte of your work. I have a problem allowing worldwide access via a login on some startup's unsecured website, I would like to keep my passwords locally and at least limit access to my local network.
Yeah, that is a little concerning, I would definitely wanna make sure it’s secure, but all of my work is on external hard drives, so even if that was to happen I would still have everything, but I wouldn’t want anyone having my work. definitely makes perfect sense.
This is exactly what I thought too. And… guess what, no matter how “secure” we want to believe something is, there’s a hacker out there that can figure it out. If hospitals, banks, and government sites can be hacked… then yeah, a very very cool studio app definitely can.

Is there anything special about Jump? Is it purpose built for DAWs? Or is it just a VNC client/server? How different is it from the open source and free RealVNC?
I dont know of all options in the wild. But what I liked about this one was ability to wake (dependably)… where most I tried would work intermittently.
I didn’t know about the one you mentioned I’ll check it out.
What I liked with jump was end to end encryption, low one time cost (no subscription) long trial… anything that checks those boxes is good in my book 👍

I watched that Video sometimes back, and I couldn't but think it's intentional on Apple's part. Apple controls the Hardware, the Os and the DAW, it's nuts that Logic is not able to use the full power of the M2 and M3 computers.
That M1 is able to run more tracks than M2 & M3 is concerning.

Not enough functionality and not a dedicated tool. Pro Tools just needs to catch up with all the other DAWs. The Jump UI is so tiny it’s unusable. Makes me frustrated just looking at it.
seems that it is only as tiny as the device you use it on. a 14 inch tablet doesn't seem tiny.

Chrome was a nightmare with a VPN. I’ve been using TeamViewer which has been great, and I purchased Jump, so we’ll see how things go.

It does. I just use audiomovers becuase I'm HDX based meaning there is not system audio to grad. So I have to use something else. But if your not using HDX you can totally use the built in audio

@@RecordingStudioLoser on the website they confirm that it is not available for Android right now. I assume they are planning to release it in the future, but I saw nothing to indicate when or if this will happen.
You’re better off using Logic Pro or Cubase on an iPad…just get an iPad Pro with tb of memory..pro tools is quite expensive…and with logic and cubase you have no chance of losing your music as it’s in your hard drive..so why am I seeing this ad…lol..
