You are on record of wrecking cars, literally destroying cars. Did you ever think you wouldn't have to make a video like this if you did proper work? From the trail blazer to nick to Bobby to another guy I read about about a cam install taking you to court.. No wonder your "shop" is failing, you spend to much time battling people in court or arguing with people about errors you made. Look at the customers you've lost ? Does that not open your eyes? Does the comments about your filthy rat invested shop not open your eyes ? How can you even work in there with that filth ? The only think keeping you afloat right now is your RUclips account with your pre teen fan boys that dont even have cars... and they wouldnt even be here if it wasnt for nick and Mike. It blows my mind there are shops out there that let this kind of shit fly and see no problem with it! There’s a few even in my area where dudes are clearly in over there head with jobs they’re not even close to qualified performing and hacking shit up left and right. Then to let a customer take that vehicle out on public roads with half ass work is even more mind numbing.. I guess I was raised differently.

It has the 4.2 i6. I wanted a 5.3 trailblazer for the slight extra power but mostly for the exhaust note. However unless u get an ss, the only v8 would have a 3rd row and i didnt want that. Plus a similarly optioned 5.3 blazer was almost double the price that i paid for mine. I did however want to get as close to the v8 power as i could since i do occasionally pull a small trailer with a quad in it. Andy said he would tune it and could get an extra 10-15 hp at most out of it which would put it just about 300 at the crank. Its no race car for sure, but every little bit helps

SS and Guitar BOTH had engines die with DFR tuned,built engines. Guitar had 200 shot injectors and the new dyno place believed what he was told.... dfr installed 150's.
Im not taking sides but I agree with things from Andy..and with you being a shop owner and as a customer. As the customer my gripe would 100% be about the lack of communication and that feeling of neglect when you spent hard earned money is unacceptable. I dont think its fair to try to go after a full refund after months of use and 8k miles put on trans however, had it failed shortly after being picked up then yes..Id make a big stink.Unless you have a receipt stating a set warranty for a certain mileage, Most shops would give you a break on price to rebuild the trans again and recommend further options based on intended use or just repair broken parts and waive the re/re labor. Also being a shop owner..for a customer to just come and take their car without me present is a huge red flag also.Yes its your car but its his property..both sides should be present when your car leaves ..period.For all Andy knows..you didnt come pick it up and the car was stolen off his property when he comes to work that monday morning. You should have taken it in his presence and tell him ill see you in court and settle things that way. Despite what ppl think of him or the shop/quality of work..I think both sides couldve dealt with things better without getting blown up by social media.
I work at a shop part time and I agree 100 percent. The customer blames the shop when something fails after its been worked on even if its not the part we replaced or w/e. The shop gets sick of dealing with comebacks although we ALWAYS try to make it right or get the customer to understand the situation.
Seen both sides Andys phone company can prove in court if this guy's called and left that many messages taking the car unannounced is the big red flag for me I'd have to say Andys story's way more believable and makes it so I look like this guy is just reaching for views.
I wanted to meet him at his shop. I have the phone records and private messages to show i tried contacting him for over 2 weeks. He is almost 3 hrs from my home so i cant just take a stroll down there to visit him. For the week before i picked it up, i sent him messages and called his phone leaving voicemails telling him i was coming down to pick it up. That weekend we went to virginia and on our way home on sunday, tried to contact him to tell him we were on our way. Picked it up on a sunday, and he didnt contact me until the following thursday when he realized it was gone. I gave him the first month without bothering him since thats how lo g it was there the first time. But after that month, tried contacting him with no reaponse. With no communication, how do i know if hes goi g to do it in a week or 6 months?
@@festerfm I'm siding with you here on this one, but I think you took a risk taking your vehicle to him, not because he does shit work, but because of his credentials and certification. He has no BBB history, and I believe (from what I can tell) that he is not an ASE certified mechanic. Not being ASE certified means that he really can't give an express valid warranty on any of his work as a mechanic, repair or performance wise. Not being able to give a warranty is a big deal in my book, especially when a case like this arises.
Its a joke how people were blaming Race Proven Motorsport too on his channel. Andy messed up the fueling system everything was installed incorrectly thats why Mike just sold it.

I didn't lose any money but he announced me as a winner in his banner giveaway. I emailed him with a "hey boss" reply from him. I Never got the banner. I emailed him again with no reply. Tried several times after that and no reply. That was almost a year ago I think since he announced I "won"
Well i am not standing up for andy or you but from outside where I am how do I know you did not rod the hell out of it, with all your talk about bigger motors and the exhaust notes ive seen guys bash there cars before then try to come back on the repair shop so im still on the fence as to what really happened. Internet has made me very vert skeptical about anyones claims nowdays tho!
ledegraw shit a 4l60e even professionally built rpm transmissions etc are weak and frail transmissions. In my buddies car if you can only make about 4-5 passes at the track (1/8th mile) before you need to park or car for an hour or so cause it will break.

I am not taking either side, however I have delt with a small independent shop before that did a similar thing to what this guy is saying -shotty work, vehicle sitting for weeks, no returned calls, cant get ahold of etc.. I understand stuff happens however it's an extremely frustrating experience.
It infuriates me how many of these shops spend endless hours on social media, youtube, and posting on websites, while customers cars are sitting for months. EVERY shop does this. The aftermarket and performance shops are all equally bad these days. If you arent spending 50k on upgrades, they dont care about you.

Honestly not sure who to believe you claim all you want is refund and things made right andy says he offered you a refund and you turned it down. So either your dragging out this problem and using Andy's publicity to make your channel bigger or you know your in the wrong and don't feel right about taking money from andy or maybe andy never offered you a refund not sure but regardless you both are adults figure it out and handle it like men and not children. He offered me cash to take down my video and i declined. Told him if he wants the video taken down, i want what i paid the second transmission shop to do the job right. Which was about half of what i paid andy originally. Also what i am claiming in court. And was a couple hundred dollars more than what he originally offered me. I declined all his offers

spyder 4351 how are they junk? I owned one and put over 30,000 miles on it and never had to do anything to it. I’ve seen a lot of TrailBlazers with well over 200k miles. The only weak spot is the transmissions. All depends on maintenance and how you drive
If u think because u can put 30000 miles on a vehicle and that makes it not junk thats shame a on u try owning that vehicle from being new. Someonelse i guarantee you has sunk a pile of money into it. My brother and my wife owned trailblazers and they are money pits. From the time the warranty ran out to the day we traded the piece of shit in. I have owned a ton of vehicles from used to brand new and these suv's were the worst headache i have ever had in my driveway.
spyder 4351 mine was bought brand new in 2002 here in Ohio 2002 Trailblazer LT 4x4 4.2 I6 and it's got 190k miles on it right now and Ive done struts coil packs spark plugs an alternator and 2 batteries you can't beat that next to nothing and I have driven it pretty hard it's whole life it was a plow vehicle for me for 5 winter's plowing local lots spreading salt and used it as a winter recovery vehicle for all the winter since no rust on it and it still spins like a top!!
I’m sorry to hear about your poor experience with DFR. Seems to be a common trend with people on RUclips. (God knows how many others get shitty work done on their vehicles by him that we don’t hear about.) I’ll have to agree with others commenting about the fact his shop is a complete mess and everything is unorganized. That right there to me shows how much he doesn’t give a crap about his workmanship. Probably a lot about his character as well. Wouldn’t let him touch a hoopty of a vehicle. Have a good one man and hope things get figured out for you!
A trans built to handle 600hp should live behind a stock 6 cylinder for a VERY long time. He's claiming user error saying you abused it... Would be pretty difficult to break a well built trans with a stock 6 cylinder IMO. I've been screwed on a 4L60 before too. Mine was a TCI, what a junk trans company, lasted 1100 miles behind a weak motor. They refused to speak to me. Do your homework next time make sure you get a warranty! If you want a performance 4l60e get one from a reputable shop such as finish line transmissions. Look on forums they know which brands hold up and which don't.
You got a rebuilt trans and a tune. 8000 miles later and it's acting up but still drive able. Sounds like you were hooning your pos trailblazer and damaged it.

What would you like to see? I agree with andy that "pulling stumps out of your backyard" is abuse. Same as plowing snow, or neutral drops. My question to him is where is his proof that abuse like that happened? Pics? Video? Hes throwing stuff like that out there to point the finger away from him. I will call the trans shop and have the guy explain to me exactly what he found in the transmission when he disassembled it tomorrow so i tell you all. But i keep fuel mileage stats on all my vehicles that tracks where i fill up, how much i get and how much it costs, my odometer mileage, and my mpg. And if anyone has a 4.2 trailblazer, 17-19mpg city driving is the furthest from abusing the trans. Even when i only had first and second gear, i was still getting 15-16mpg

The corrados are at diesel shanes. Its a spring project for shane with downtime. The c6 is down at lmr in tx to be built buy a larger shop like RPM but they are shipping it to florida for the meet with cletus. Andy is busy and backlogged with a small shop and parttime people. Mitch is awesome and for his age max had a good head on his shoulders.
I never understand why people take shit to his shop to begin with. You can tell he’s not organized whatsoever. I watch his videos and some of them are entertaining, but I just wouldn’t trust him with my vehicles.
Andy's problem isn't the mess, it's the lack of room for the mess. He works out of a single bay, single lift garage. That would be perfect for a home gamer, but apparently, Andy is a "RUclips famous mechanic" and needs a bigger and more efficient garage and then he would be able to do a quicker, more professional quality job.
Based on my experience, average tune costs $400-450 for first time MAF tunes because you have to pay for the PCM license from HP Tuners (if that's what they use for tuning) and the time spent tuning. Then the transmission upgrade kit since he claimed it was rated for 600hp is going to be between $250-500 let's say. Average hourly rates for a performance shop is around $100-120/hr so he was basically charging you $1500 on labor alone... For the price of $2500-2800 you could have purchased a built racing transmission from a reputable dealer such as RPM Transmissions or Finish Line Transmission, FLT sells a built 4l60e transmission for $1795 you could have bought that and had it installed by a local shop for the price he charged you.
He has the right to take his trailblazer. Andy said in his video about the dirt. That was saying a lot. Transmission shop should be clean as possible it don't take much to mess one up. I think he should give a full refund and move on or half the repairs on the cost of the repairs.
Can I give you some advice? When you go to small claims court, hire an attorney. Yeah, I know that will cost you some amount of money, but if he hires an attorney and you don't- you'll have a virtually "0" chance of winning your case. I'd also bring all the written documentation you have because right now, it's a "he said-she said" type of case and unfortunately, you'll probably lose as it's upon you to provide the burden of proof that you have been wronged. I was sued several years ago in small claims court and I hired an attorney and claimant lost there case. They did not hire an attorney and our attorney pretty much ate the guys lunch. I watch Andys videos, not saying anything about him, he seems like a nice guy, but you're gonna need to prove without a doubt that you were wronged somehow.
As the owner of one of the first cars he destroyed 5+ years ago, I wish people would read the real reviews. I did get a judgment (public file) for a fraction of the costs. Every computer had to be replaced due to a short in wiring and ultimately the entire block /complete rebuild. No driving time on the car from the time it was dropped to him until $17k repair/rebuild with an actual credible performance shop. Friends were divided and business associates took sides, but in the end the block sits in my garage and I only started the car once a month. It will never 100%. I didn't go into the agreement blind, I'm in the motorsports business and he was just getting started. I rolled the dice and lost big! O, and the judgement....you can't get blood from a stone, so like all the others that have/had judgments, its meaningless.
Dude he's a one man shop. You were offered a refund and turned it down. Also from what you said you clearly are saying you abused your transmission when driving it after it was repaired. Looks like a fame grab to me. Also on a legal side you've handled this completely wrong. This video looks like extortion.
Any good transmission would back thier work 2 years 25k no problems Andy screwed him. Over a month waiting and him dodging calls and messages he got burned.
You took your rig to a small shop. You don't get the turn around or communication you see from big businesses. I've seen both sides. He tried he's offered to help but just wants this video down which is a fair request in my eyes. Sounds like someone's just trying to get some RUclips fame from this.
If i was trying for RUclips same, I would put a lot more effort into editing videos post. All this is his putting the word out there that he's not as perfect as he makes himself seem in his own videos

@@festerfm but blasting someone on RUclips isn't the way to do that. I've watched his trailblazer videos since I own one and was looking for videos that could help me diagnose problems mine had. He's doesn't show him self as a perfect human being that has no mistakes. I took my last truck to a small local transmission shop near me who replaced the clutch the slave and the master and it still had problems with the clutch. I didn't have to make a RUclips video for that. They offered solutions and it was resolved. Odds are your parts that got used were faulty it happens. The slave in the truck I mentioned was slowly leaking fluid and was defective. Not the shops fault the part was like that but they still offered to make things right for me. Just like he's offered for you just like he's trying to with you. If he makes it right what's the point of the video then.
He didn't try to make anything right. He tried to pay me to take the video down because it was hurting his business. And I'm sorry if it is but nothing in that video was incorrect. It is factual information of my business dealings with him. I do have proof that the job he did was directly responsible for it failing the second time. I'm not going to post any specifics on that because I don't want him to have a chance to come up with some bullshit excuse or try to point the finger somewhere else.

The difference is that the highest paid mechanics have liability and warranty budgets set aside for when they do make mistakes. When Andy screws up, anything that he is liable for comes straight from his pocket.

If the other shop did not take pictures, save part, etc you won’t have any luck in court. You should have taken his offer. On the other hand it is very unprofessional of him not to call or follow up with you in a timely manner. People choose to not make contact. I own a small business and leaving customers hanging is the worst thing to do. It’s disrespectful.

Technically he can say whatever he wants but the truth of the matter is he is ripping ppl off and using RUclips as a platform to gain more unknowledgeable customers who he can rip off! I’m sure if he ain’t answering it’s for a reason( hasn’t done the work) so how can he charge him for storage if he hasn’t done the work... I know if I went to a mechanic that said I’ll get to your car in a week, starts and finishes the work on day 8. Then charges me storage for the 7 days it was sitting waiting to be fixed, I would be headed to small claims court as well. I could see if the truck was fixed and the customer was giving the run around leaving the mechanic with a car that doesn’t need to be there cause it’s fixed, and being charged for storage that makes sense... the other way around doesn’t

It’s not that hard to tell someone I didn’t give you a warranty so I’m not gonna fix it for free. Not say oh yea I got you no prob then sit on it for months without any explanation or even as much as a response. I know in my town you wouldn’t last more than two jobs treating ppl that way. Maybe if Andy had some kind of reasonable explanation for everything then I could possibly understand. I’m 29yo and I’m a handyman i work by word of mouth and stay busy 7 days a week. I’m usually booked two or three jobs ahead at any time. And everyone says it’s cause of my work ethic and the way I treat ppl. Not trying to brag or anything jus making an example. Would you take your vehicle to a mechanic with a shitty reputation? Regardless if their a “semi-famous” RUclipsr or a giant chain like pep boys. I just checked BBB and his business has been registered since December, but Andy hasn't claimed the business as his. And his rating at the moment is a D+ because he hasn't responded to his first complaint, whatever that may actually be.
I would have never taken any vehicle there look at his shop. A shop owner cares and maintains and cleans it up during and after every vehicle. He been there that long and is still a bottom feeder still in that crappie place and drinks his profit away. No vehicle should ever go there looking. Weeks later and it's still not done. @@harleyguyinmilw i believe nickbwas involved in selecting the jets from the kit and told and to use the jets that andy put into the car, nick had said he misread the chart in a video that he made. so andy put the jets in requested by the customer, granted he should have double checked u cant blame andy 100% for nick nitrous adventures
Maybe the other shop should of looked over the nitrous kit instead of setting it to kill and making demo pull. The whole 717 crew is a bunch of wanna be car guys.
Because i tried giving him a chance to talk about things privately. I wanted andy to call me or message me and cone to a solution in private. I know some situations are unavoidable but if he had just a hint of communication, we wouldnt be where we are today

Many people might not know this but even transmissions have a break in periods, if your on a fresh rebuild and it’s built for 600hp as you said it should of gotten tuned as well, even driving a trans like that with no tuning can blow it up, if you beat on it, it makes it that much worse. With Andy not responding to you, not even returning a phone call he is hiding behind his mistake. so either way there’s a lot that went wrong here.
I have never done anything with Andy as I am in Canada. 4L60E transmissions are junk. I have friends who baby there trucks and blow them and other friends who bag drive theirs and it lives for years. 4L60E transmissions are the worst automatic transmission GM has ever made. My truck a 1994 Chevy blew its 10 years ago when my father owned it. It was rebuilt and bullet proofed and 10 years later still shifts like brand new, my truck also went to a shop called Mr.Transmisson in Kamloops BC whos main priority is building transmissions with other work on the side, not a cluttered back yard shop. You probably shouldn't have went to a mechanic you found on Snapchat and took it to a shop with more professional advertising.
Ur right! I should have done more research. Originally was just going for a tune. Figured a tune wouldnt hurt. Had to cancel the tune since i needed to fix the trans first and i told andy that and he said he could rebuild it also. If i wasnt already planning on going down to him, i wouldnt have considered him as an option. Hes a good salesman

Guess we are unfamiliar with negotiation. Secondly why take the vehicle when you assume the transmission is shot. Seems you shot yourself in your foot. An tuning a trailblazer seems like you aren't all that responsible and do things on impulse. So I can see where you probably did pull stumps and abuse the transmission 🤷♂️

You now, out of the four car guys that I originally subscribed to, at this point I have removed two of them. The only guys that can make quality content are Cleetus and Nick. Mike and Andy have turned into clickbait and BS masters.
I'm not a lawyer but I do know a fair amount about law proceedings and I can tell you without a doubt that you would not win in court, you need to work this out with Andy and come to a resolution. You paid for a transmission rebuild and tune and the transmission was rebuilt and tuned, after 8,000 miles the transmission started to experience some problems. Andy holds no implied warranties on his work, and unless you and he signed an agreement for a warranty on your transmission he's not going to be held responsible. The transmission 4L60E is known to be unreliable and have problems which a judge will take into account and will show very favorably for Andy, don't waste your money going through all that just to be even further in the hole. Work with Andy, see if he will give you some of your money back and take that to go buy something more reliable. As the saying goes, you can polish a turd but at the end of the day a turd is still going to be a turd. In my personal opinion Andy should not have agreed to rebuild the transmission knowing full well there was potential for failure due to a flawed design of the mechanics of the transmission, rebuilding unreliable parts isn't exactly good for business and he should have taken that into account. I'm also not a mechanic but I know a fair bit about cars and typically if a part fails it's because that part either was damaged or the design of the part is flawed and will likely result in that problem arising again if the part is repaired or replaced. The experience you had sucked, I've been there and gone through that and feel bad for you. You spent a lot of money hoping that your vehicle would come back without any problems and it did for at least a short time but at the end of the day that 4L60E is a turd of a transmission and was likely to fail again at some point. I would really just say you need to put your money towards a better vehicle man, in life sometimes you just have to take the loss and accept the fact that life throws you curveballs and you strike out. When the 3-4 clutches burn up, you still have first and second gear. You can drive it as much as you want in second gear. Kept the speeds around 40 and no issues, just less than ideal mpg. We drove ot to a friends house that night 20 minutes from his shop. Next day after getting advice from no less than 3 actual transmission shops, we were told it was safe to drive in 2nd gear, just keep the speed low

It blows my mind there are shops out there that let this kind of shit fly and see no problem with it! There’s a few even in my area where dudes are clearly in over there head with jobs they’re not even close to qualified performing and hacking shit up left and right. Why would you tune a V-6 in a Trailblazer?
It has the 4.2 i6. I wanted a 5.3 trailblazer for the slight extra power but mostly for the exhaust note. However unless u get an ss, the only v8 would have a 3rd row and i didnt want that. Plus a similarly optioned 5.3 blazer was almost double the price that i paid for mine. I did however want to get as close to the v8 power as i could since i do occasionally pull a small trailer with a quad in it. Andy said he would tune it and could get an extra 10-15 hp at most out of it which would put it just about 300 at the crank. Its no race car for sure, but every little bit helps

Guitar had 200 shot injectors and the new dyno place believed what he was told.... dfr installed 150's.

Im not taking sides but I agree with things from Andy..and with you being a shop owner and as a customer. As the customer my gripe would 100% be about the lack of communication and that feeling of neglect when you spent hard earned money is unacceptable. I dont think its fair to try to go after a full refund after months of use and 8k miles put on trans however, had it failed shortly after being picked up then yes..Id make a big stink.Unless you have a receipt stating a set warranty for a certain mileage, Most shops would give you a break on price to rebuild the trans again and recommend further options based on intended use or just repair broken parts and waive the re/re labor. Also being a shop owner..for a customer to just come and take their car without me present is a huge red flag also.Yes its your car but its his property..both sides should be present when your car leaves ..period.For all Andy knows..you didnt come pick it up and the car was stolen off his property when he comes to work that monday morning. You should have taken it in his presence and tell him ill see you in court and settle things that way. Despite what ppl think of him or the shop/quality of work..I think both sides couldve dealt with things better without getting blown up by social media.
I work at a shop part time and I agree 100 percent. The customer blames the shop when something fails after its been worked on even if its not the part we replaced or w/e. The shop gets sick of dealing with comebacks although we ALWAYS try to make it right or get the customer to understand the situation.
Seen both sides Andys phone company can prove in court if this guy's called and left that many messages taking the car unannounced is the big red flag for me I'd have to say Andys story's way more believable and makes it so I look like this guy is just reaching for views.
I wanted to meet him at his shop. I have the phone records and private messages to show i tried contacting him for over 2 weeks. He is almost 3 hrs from my home so i cant just take a stroll down there to visit him. For the week before i picked it up, i sent him messages and called his phone leaving voicemails telling him i was coming down to pick it up. That weekend we went to virginia and on our way home on sunday, tried to contact him to tell him we were on our way. Picked it up on a sunday, and he didnt contact me until the following thursday when he realized it was gone. I gave him the first month without bothering him since thats how lo g it was there the first time. But after that month, tried contacting him with no reaponse. With no communication, how do i know if hes goi g to do it in a week or 6 months?

@@festerfm I'm siding with you here on this one, but I think you took a risk taking your vehicle to him, not because he does shit work, but because of his credentials and certification. He has no BBB history, and I believe (from what I can tell) that he is not an ASE certified mechanic. Not being ASE certified means that he really can't give an express valid warranty on any of his work as a mechanic, repair or performance wise. Not being able to give a warranty is a big deal in my book, especially when a case like this arises.
Its a joke how people were blaming Race Proven Motorsport too on his channel. Andy messed up the fueling system everything was installed incorrectly thats why Mike just sold it.

ledegraw shit a 4l60e even professionally built rpm transmissions etc are weak and frail transmissions. In my buddies car if you can only make about 4-5 passes at the track (1/8th mile) before you need to park or car for an hour or so cause it will break.

I am not taking either side, however I have delt with a small independent shop before that did a similar thing to what this guy is saying -shotty work, vehicle sitting for weeks, no returned calls, cant get ahold of etc.. I understand stuff happens however it's an extremely frustrating experience.

I have owned a ton of vehicles from used to brand new and these suv's were the worst headache i have ever had in my driveway.
spyder 4351 mine was bought brand new in 2002 here in Ohio 2002 Trailblazer LT 4x4 4.2 I6 and it's got 190k miles on it right now and Ive done struts coil packs spark plugs an alternator and 2 batteries you can't beat that next to nothing and I have driven it pretty hard it's whole life it was a plow vehicle for me for 5 winter's plowing local lots spreading salt and used it as a winter recovery vehicle for all the winter since no rust on it and it still spins like a top!!
I’m sorry to hear about your poor experience with DFR. Seems to be a common trend with people on RUclips. (God knows how many others get shitty work done on their vehicles by him that we don’t hear about.) I’ll have to agree with others commenting about the fact his shop is a complete mess and everything is unorganized. That right there to me shows how much he doesn’t give a crap about his workmanship. Probably a lot about his character as well.

A trans built to handle 600hp should live behind a stock 6 cylinder for a VERY long time. He's claiming user error saying you abused it... Would be pretty difficult to break a well built trans with a stock 6 cylinder IMO. I've been screwed on a 4L60 before too. Mine was a TCI, what a junk trans company, lasted 1100 miles behind a weak motor. They refused to speak to me. Do your homework next time make sure you get a warranty! If you want a performance 4l60e get one from a reputable shop such as finish line transmissions. Look on forums they know which brands hold up and which don't.
I like Andy, but i recommend RPM for transmissions. Hope everything goes well for you bud.

My question to him is where is his proof that abuse like that happened? Pics? Video? Hes throwing stuff like that out there to point the finger away from him. I will call the trans shop and have the guy explain to me exactly what he found in the transmission when he disassembled it tomorrow so i tell you all. But i keep fuel mileage stats on all my vehicles that tracks where i fill up, how much i get and how much it costs, my odometer mileage, and my mpg. And if anyone has a 4.2 trailblazer, 17-19mpg city driving is the furthest from abusing the trans. Even when i only had first and second gear, i was still getting 15-16mpg

The corrados are at diesel shanes. Its a spring project for shane with downtime. The c6 is down at lmr in tx to be built buy a larger shop like RPM but they are shipping it to florida for the meet with cletus. Andy is busy and backlogged with a small shop and parttime people. Mitch is awesome and for his age max had a good head on his shoulders.

Andy's problem isn't the mess, it's the lack of room for the mess. He works out of a single bay, single lift garage. That would be perfect for a home gamer, but apparently, Andy is a "RUclips famous mechanic" and needs a bigger and more efficient garage and then he would be able to do a quicker, more professional quality job.
You can make any space efficient. Shit laying all over the place is not the spaces fault.
Based on my experience, average tune costs $400-450 for first time MAF tunes because you have to pay for the PCM license from HP Tuners (if that's what they use for tuning) and the time spent tuning. Then the transmission upgrade kit since he claimed it was rated for 600hp is going to be between $250-500 let's say. Average hourly rates for a performance shop is around $100-120/hr so he was basically charging you $1500 on labor alone... For the price of $2500-2800 you could have purchased a built racing transmission from a reputable dealer such as RPM Transmissions or Finish Line Transmission, FLT sells a built 4l60e transmission for $1795 you could have bought that and had it installed by a local shop for the price he charged you.

He has the right to take his trailblazer. Andy said in his video about the dirt. That was saying a lot. Transmission shop should be clean as possible it don't take much to mess one up. I think he should give a full refund and move on or half the repairs on the cost of the repairs.

Can I give you some advice? When you go to small claims court, hire an attorney. Yeah, I know that will cost you some amount of money, but if he hires an attorney and you don't- you'll have a virtually "0" chance of winning your case. I'd also bring all the written documentation you have because right now, it's a "he said-she said" type of case and unfortunately, you'll probably lose as it's upon you to provide the burden of proof that you have been wronged.
I was sued several years ago in small claims court and I hired an attorney and claimant lost there case. They did not hire an attorney and our attorney pretty much ate the guys lunch.
I watch Andys videos, not saying anything about him, he seems like a nice guy, but you're gonna need to prove without a doubt that you were wronged somehow.
As the owner of one of the first cars he destroyed 5+ years ago, I wish people would read the real reviews. I did get a judgment (public file) for a fraction of the costs. Every computer had to be replaced due to a short in wiring and ultimately the entire block /complete rebuild. No driving time on the car from the time it was dropped to him until $17k repair/rebuild with an actual credible performance shop. Friends were divided and business associates took sides, but in the end the block sits in my garage and I only started the car once a month. It will never 100%. I didn't go into the agreement blind, I'm in the motorsports business and he was just getting started. I rolled the dice and lost big! O, and the judgement....you can't get blood from a stone, so like all the others that have/had judgments, its meaningless.

He's doesn't show him self as a perfect human being that has no mistakes. I took my last truck to a small local transmission shop near me who replaced the clutch the slave and the master and it still had problems with the clutch. I didn't have to make a RUclips video for that. They offered solutions and it was resolved. Odds are your parts that got used were faulty it happens. He didn't try to make anything right. He tried to pay me to take the video down because it was hurting his business. And I'm sorry if it is but nothing in that video was incorrect. It is factual information of my business dealings with him. I do have proof that the job he did was directly responsible for it failing the second time. I'm not going to post any specifics on that because I don't want him to have a chance to come up with some bullshit excuse or try to point the finger somewhere else.

The difference is that the highest paid mechanics have liability and warranty budgets set aside for when they do make mistakes. When Andy screws up, anything that he is liable for comes straight from his pocket.

If the other shop did not take pictures, save part, etc you won’t have any luck in court. You should have taken his offer. On the other hand it is very unprofessional of him not to call or follow up with you in a timely manner. People choose to not make contact. I own a small business and leaving customers hanging is the worst thing to do. It’s disrespectful.

Technically he can say whatever he wants but the truth of the matter is he is ripping ppl off and using RUclips as a platform to gain more unknowledgeable customers who he can rip off! I’m sure if he ain’t answering it’s for a reason( hasn’t done the work) so how can he charge him for storage if he hasn’t done the work... I know if I went to a mechanic that said I’ll get to your car in a week, starts and finishes the work on day 8. Then charges me storage for the 7 days it was sitting waiting to be fixed, I would be headed to small claims court as well. I could see if the truck was fixed and the customer was giving the run around leaving the mechanic with a car that doesn’t need to be there cause it’s fixed, and being charged for storage that makes sense... the other way around doesn’t

It’s not that hard to tell someone I didn’t give you a warranty so I’m not gonna fix it for free. Not say oh yea I got you no prob then sit on it for months without any explanation or even as much as a response. I know in my town you wouldn’t last more than two jobs treating ppl that way. Maybe if Andy had some kind of reasonable explanation for everything then I could possibly understand. I’m 29yo and I’m a handyman i work by word of mouth and stay busy 7 days a week. I’m usually booked two or three jobs ahead at any time. And everyone says it’s cause of my work ethic and the way I treat ppl. Not trying to brag or anything jus making an example. Would you take your vehicle to a mechanic with a shitty reputation? Regardless if their a “semi-famous” RUclipsr or a giant chain like pep boys. I know when I want to be treated with respect especially when I know I’m feeding that person and his family with my patronage. Jus a lil respect goes a long way especially in business

I just checked BBB and his business has been registered since December, but Andy hasn't claimed the business as his. And his rating at the moment is a D+ because he hasn't responded to his first complaint, whatever that may actually be.

I would have never taken any vehicle there look at his shop. A shop owner cares and maintains and cleans it up during and after every vehicle. He been there that long and is still a bottom feeder still in that crappie place and drinks his profit away. No vehicle should ever go there looking. Weeks later and it's still not done. I think it would be nice to see a v6 tuned that what you have roll with it. Family first and live within your means. Great call out wish you luck

Because i tried giving him a chance to talk about things privately. I wanted andy to call me or message me and cone to a solution in private. I know some situations are unavoidable but if he had just a hint of communication, we wouldnt be where we are today

Many people might not know this but even transmissions have a break in periods, if your on a fresh rebuild and it’s built for 600hp as you said it should of gotten tuned as well, even driving a trans like that with no tuning can blow it up, if you beat on it, it makes it that much worse. With Andy not responding to you, not even returning a phone call he is hiding behind his mistake. so either way there’s a lot that went wrong here.
I have never done anything with Andy as I am in Canada. 4L60E transmissions are junk. I have friends who baby there trucks and blow them and other friends who bag drive theirs and it lives for years. 4L60E transmissions are the worst automatic transmission GM has ever made. My truck a 1994 Chevy blew its 10 years ago when my father owned it. It was rebuilt and bullet proofed and 10 years later still shifts like brand new, my truck also went to a shop called Mr.Transmisson in Kamloops BC whos main priority is building transmissions with other work on the side, not a cluttered back yard shop. You probably shouldn't have went to a mechanic you found on Snapchat and took it to a shop with more professional advertising.
Ur right! I should have done more research. Originally was just going for a tune. Figured a tune wouldnt hurt. Had to cancel the tune since i needed to fix the trans first and i told andy that and he said he could rebuild it also. If i wasnt already planning on going down to him, i wouldnt have considered him as an option. Hes a good salesman

ATX-CVPI mine was bought brand new in 2002 here in Ohio 2002 Trailblazer LT 4x4 4.2 I6 and it's got 190k miles on it right now and Ive done struts coil packs spark plugs an alternator and 2 batteries you can't beat that next to nothing and I have driven it pretty hard it's whole life it was a plow vehicle for me for 5 winter's plowing local lots spreading salt and used it as a winter recovery vehicle for all the winter since no rust on it and it still spins like a top!!

What did the transmission do did not shift right? was it slipping?
Had no 3rd and 4th gear. Same issue as before it went to his shop the first time.

I'm not a lawyer but I do know a fair amount about law proceedings and I can tell you without a doubt that you would not win in court, you need to work this out with Andy and come to a resolution. You paid for a transmission rebuild and tune and the transmission was rebuilt and tuned, after 8,000 miles the transmission started to experience some problems. Andy holds no implied warranties on his work, and unless you and he signed an agreement for a warranty on your transmission he's not going to be held responsible. The transmission 4L60E is known to be unreliable and have problems which a judge will take into account and will show very favorably for Andy, don't waste your money going through all that just to be even further in the hole. Work with Andy, see if he will give you some of your money back and take that to go buy something more reliable. As the saying goes, you can polish a turd but at the end of the day a turd is still going to be a turd. In my personal opinion Andy should not have agreed to rebuild the transmission knowing full well there was potential for failure due to a flawed design of the mechanics of the transmission, rebuilding unreliable parts isn't exactly good for business and he should have taken that into account. I'm also not a mechanic but I know a fair bit about cars and typically if a part fails it's because that part either was damaged or the design of the part is flawed and will likely result in that problem arising again if the part is repaired or replaced. The experience you had sucked, I've been there and gone through that and feel bad for you. You spent a lot of money hoping that your vehicle would come back without any problems and it did for at least a short time but at the end of the day that 4L60E is a turd of a transmission and was likely to fail again at some point. I would really just say you need to put your money towards a better vehicle man, in life sometimes you just have to take the loss and accept the fact that life throws you curveballs and you strike out. Best of luck to you, hope it all works out.

When the 3-4 clutches burn up, you still have first and second gear. You can drive it as much as you want in second gear. Kept the speeds around 40 and no issues, just less than ideal mpg. We drove ot to a friends house that night 20 minutes from his shop. Next day after getting advice from no less than 3 actual transmission shops, we were told it was safe to drive in 2nd gear, just keep the speed low
