  • What do you do when you Need to learn how to fix your car? You watch chrisfix. What about when you are more of a function over form type of person and your time is valuable? The method I used to replace my rear struts Was done because I bought this car as a cheap beater that needs to work more than it needs to look Good.Do this at your own risk. There are wires you could risk cutting and you could also cut yourself on the plastic. This saved me probably 2 hours worth of tearing the interior apart, breaking plastic clips that hold all the trim pieces in, and just general frustration.

I remember when I bought 6x9s for my rear deck and it took me all day to take everything apart and get those speakers in. If you’re installing new struts the normal way you might as well install some new 6x9s too.

If you unfastened Phillips plastic head clips that hold the piece of plastic that you cut can you give yourself enough wiggle room to fit a small plywood divider that separates your cutting device from the wiring harness.

The way they want you to take it apart is to remove the majority of the trim in the back seat to remove the entire plastic panel. My car was a beater car so I didn't care about cutting it. It definitely makes the job take less time and when the seat is put back up, you would never know there were holes there.
