These cars last forever. I had a 99 with 300k on it, now a 00 with 183. Both V6 Manuals. My 2000 is burning a hole in my pocket fixing all the exhaust problems.
That's because the aftermarket exhausts patches are crap. I noticed the same thing with my 95 Celica. The costliest expense over 11 years of ownership was fixing exhaust. Just get a quality full exhaust
Yepper.. had it just about a year and a half now. I did have to put a cat back on for inspection but the sound barely changed. The car hit 200k miles in the beginn8ng of november and got a new clutch also. The v6 is running great with just leaky valve cover gaskets and the common knock sensor failures
Negative.. the cat just cleans the air. The oxygen sensor before the cat is what gives feedback to the ecu on air fuel mixture. The downstream sensor just measures cat efficiency.
@@vladk163 they're still doing great! The underhood temps are a bit warm. My intake air temps are up because of that but other than that i have zero complaints other than i wish i didnt have to fab up an egr block off. The factory egr tube doesnt match up with the egr port on the headers at all. Simple block off was made but it did set me back a days worth of work. I would also recommend getting a pair of multi layered steel gaskets to go between the headers and the heads. The gaskets that came with the kit were trash! Leaked within a week. New mls gaskets are going on 2 years now with no leaks
@@festerfm awesome! I just got mine and when I seen the o2 sensor was only hooked up to one tube instead of lower down the header I was worried I will have to tune it🙃 so you're dose not run rich or lean? Thats all I'm worried about....
They were from ebay.. however, i had to use an egr blockoff since the factory egr tube did not match up to the new headers at all. The fit was crude but was able to make it work. Ill find them again and put the link to them in the description. Also the manifold gaskets that came with the kit were trash!
Heres the link. However, i bought them for $230 back in 2019.. www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-Steel-Exhaust-Headers-Manifold-System-For-96-01-Camry-Solara-3-0L-V6-/172210511840?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
@@Martythechillgod I like it! Especially for how cheap it was. V6, 5spd, 183k miles when I got it. 27mpg. Needs a clutch right now and I'm hoping I can get away with keeping my flywheel as is. New flywheels for this engine are almost 3 times the cost of the actual clutch and getting into how much I actually paid for the car. It's not fast by any stretch, but it is quick enough to catch someone off guard.
festerfm if you want to make it a sleeper, you could find the supercharger for it or turbo it. For turbo it is gonna be a bitch to do. But its a underrated engine
festerfm i got a camry 1mzfe v6 5 speed, my clutch is going out, what clutch kit are u buying and can u maybe make a vid with some install tips? Also, did the cat delete cause a CEL? Did u buy defoulers to get rid of the light? Check my quick vid of a highway merge, thanks
3.0 v6 is 1MZ-FE

That’s a cool spec 99 with red pin stripe on black so nice
Any idea what brand headers u got ? I got a 00 avalon, just did cat delete n full exhaust.. id love a set of headers
I have a 4 cylinder what kind headers can I get
Yo so I just started modifying my 1999 solara v6 what headers would be good for it ? And any exhaust suggestions?
OBX header are all there really is online. You can get them on ebay
So hard to find a Manual near me smh
1mz fe almost sound like rb26
Most 6 cylinders sound pretty similar.
@@SpikeRazzor but a rb26 is a inline six where the 1mz is a v6
You still got your solara 😂 I see your in pa and so am I I got the second gen with one cat & resonator delete with a magnum flow

Dose you air fuel ratio get affect after the cat delete?

@@festerfm awesome thanks
@@festerfm how are you're obx headers doing any problems? And did you have to tune your car after since the headers only read 1 cylinder per header?

That poor car.....so dirty
If I start trying to keep it clean, it will turn into more than a beater car
festerfm if it its a beater car oh then nvm. But that car can be a sleeper car.

you need to trash that entire car
That sounds a little harsh... couldnt ask for a better beater car!
Why’d you even watch the video? Pretty decent looking car for being up north and it’s a Toyota. You can’t beat it. Don’t judge a book by its cover
