My best friend and I met in elementary school and we are now seniors. We have been through good, bad, happy sad, loss of a spouse and more. We have had a few hurts along the way where we didn't take a call, but we always gathered our feelings and thoughts and talked it out. No one's perfect and it's important to admit your wrong, apologize and forgiveness will come from love that you share. Great episode Ruth and Heather.
This was such an encouraging video. I'm so incredibly challenged right now after watching this. Thank you for seeking Gods plans and purposes all these years. Your experiences are now making such a difference in so many other peoples lives. Please keep being real with us. The body of Christ needs this!
Treasure one another. I lost my college roommate & dearest friend of fifty years in 2020 to breast cancer. Never a day goes by without something to remind me of her. Soon after she passed, she came to me in a dream & told me 3 angels were with her and everything "was SO beautiful." I am not worried about her but sure do miss her.
Ruth, I've seen many videos from you but this one is one of the best, by far!!! You share your prayer life a bit and your vulnerabilities. And absolutely got tingles as you 2 told how your friendship got started...wow. Thank you both Ruth & Heather. Did I mention enough that this was really good? Please make more videos like this one.
Hi Ruth and Heather. I loved this conversation. It is hard sometimes to maintain friendships, especially when years pass and people change, whether their lives become busy or they take different paths. I feel blessed to have several Pure & True Friends! I love people and love to socialize and form relationships with people from all paths of life. I try my best to hold on to those I love, to have conversations, to always be open and honest with one another. Never be afraid to have heart to heart talks and saying your sorry is a big step. Ladies, I love the mailbox and bush story..... omgoodness, I am laughing! Too cute!
Love this video! So important to keep friendships and invest in these relationships. I think social media has taken away real friendships this day and time. Would like to see more videos about relationships and how to make them grow and become stronger.
My best friend and i met in 4th grade we have now been friends for 55 years . We have shared the good times and the bad , trust and complete honesty is the key to a genuine friendship . I have truly been blessed i also have 5 other close friends , 25 years as a group. We travel together and meet once a month . Thank God for good friends ❤🙏🏻
Oh my goodness… hard to decide I think this is my favorite video so far. I am a therapist and my mantra for therapy and healing is connections and acceptance. I would love to see more of this! Thank you! 🙏♥️
Thank you for sharing. I am 51 yrs old and have had so many different types of friendships. I have only one that has lasted since high school. There are many reasons why a lot of my friendships didn't last. I can admit I was the cause of some of the declines. I am praying that God either restores those friendships or brings new ladies in my life that I can continue on this new stage of life. Thank you and may God continue to bless you, your families and friendships.
My best friend and i started to school with each other 70 years ago. We were only friends for the first 10 and have been best friends for 60 years. Through deaths, sickness and other ups and downs we are always there for each other. We are very much alike in many ways and different in some. I love her dearly.❤❤
You are both blessed!! You think you have all the time with a friend I lost my best friend of 38 years last year We had so many plans on doing more together but I was blessed to have her in my live and know she is waiting to visit again in heaven some day
Such a neat story and encouragement. I love the idea of praying together. I dearly love my friends… this may start a domino effect of friends getting together to pray for their families 1 on 1.
So thankful that you share your faith so easily. We need more of that in this world we live in. I love your book and instagram posts too. Bless you both!
Loved this episode and would love to see more like this. It is so important for women to realize they aren't competing with each other. That we have to lift each up and be proud of their accomplishments. Thank you for this!
This is such a nice video! Thank you for making this! What you said so mature! I love the fact that the two of you pray together! We need more of this in this world we live in. Would love to see more videos with the two of you in it! :) Oh, and how the two of you met, that's like a destiny. Amazing story!
Watching from St Lucia!! 😊As a mom with 2 young daughters- the life juggle is real- especially making time for friendships- so this was very helpful! So glad I found your channel and your book- thank you for all you do!
I just watched your friends giving video and loved it so much..then watched the story of your friendship..also so blessed..but you mentioned way back your association with Billy Graham..I am in a womens bible study with a wonderful women and her daughters. Her name is Nancy Michelson and she has often shared with us the story of Billy Graham being a part of a Sunday school class that her father taught. She was also around the world growing up..(her dad was in the military..)another thread in the quilt❤
This was fantastic. I covet your friendship and totally agree with what was said! I pray daily for this kind of friendship for my 4 kids and for myself. Thank you!
It truly is hard navigating life and one of the most difficult times I think is when your children are young. Back in the day when my children were young I don't think women were very supportive of each other there was so much competition with both careers and raising children.
I met my great friend, soulmate friend when her daughter was teaching yoga.we had a great relationship for long years and then life happened for both us and we went on different ways and lost contact with each other. I have a card that I'm going to send her so we can re-connect. When we met, like you two, we had a lot of similar experiences and I miss her so much so hopefully she and I can be friends again.
Ruth you are so cute. would you consider doing a youtube on you: your daily routine, exercise, what you eat daily, beauty routine, kind of a "get to know RUTH." I know your all about family, I love that, but it begins with you. I have your book, and made most of your recipes. I have purchased your book as a housewarming gift to 0ur 27 year old grandaughter who recenrly relocated to Media, PA. God Bless you.
I’m pushing 70 and have never had a lifelong friendship. My female friends get married, ditch me ‘cos they want to be with their new hubby, then when they divorce they suddenly start ringing, asking me round etc. I don’t respond.
Maybe consider their values more when picking friends and making sure that your values are what you truly want and are as a mature, healed person. Maybe go the distance and DO respond to them with a deeper conversation about how you are hurt. and see their response instead of just abruptly cutting them off and not responding. Remember how Ruth said friendship takes difficult conversations.
The devil knew what he was doing when he created reality tv shows and social media that promote competition, personal gain at any cost and rivalry among friends. If we are not snugly yoked to our Headship, our Heavenly Father, we will succumb to what the enemy uses as deadly tactics in friendships, sibling relationships and marriages. He CAUSES us to keep our eyes on His Kingdom and make Him #1 on a list of One! He causes us to treasure HIM and His Kingdom, not this temporary existence, keeping our hearts in His Perfect Perspective. ☺️☺️🙏🏻. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and experiences! 💜
I think so many of us can relate to the feeling of loneliness, and it’s not always easy to find those deep, fulfilling friendships. It takes time, but putting yourself out there and being willing to take the first step through something as simple as a conversation is a start.
Forgiveness is key. Very genuine chat. Thank you. God Bless

How interesting that you were both connected in one way or another to Billy Graham. I think he would be very proud of both of you.
Love this so much. Nothing beats your closest girlfriends. So very important ❤

Many of us Americans feel lonely, myself included. So how are we supposed to form meaningful and fulfilling long-term friendships?
