Its amazing the number of people posting on this who aren't familiar with the times or the whole idea of Marriot playing drums......or any other concepts during the 60s!
Heinz as lead singer with Steve Marriott sitting there pretending to play drums. I'm guessing they didn't audition Steve as a singer because he'd have actually made this song sound good.
They are lip-syncing, for those that don’t know. And Steve Marriott (drums), at this point was mainly an actor-studying at London’s Italia Conti school. Music came later for him. And as stated, Heinz Bert was the ‘star’ here. Producer Joe Meek tried desperately to make Heinz a star…but he just didnt have the talent. It’s also rumoured that the vocals on this song (and all of Heinz’ singles) were done by a session singer. p.s. Is it just me or does anyone else think the ‘bass player’ looks like a future serial killer? Those faces 😂😂😂
Interesting to know what ever happened to John Pike?
Mad! Steve Marriott on drums when he had THAT voice........
The man at the controls is a pre Fame Dave Clark during his days as a bit part actor.
Don’t know why people dislike Heinz,Iv got a album of his and it’s awesome all the tracks on it
I’m pretty sure they were jealous because he was Joe’s favorite
The singer makes me think of Sting as Ace Face in Quadrophenia
Someone must've told Heinz..."Whatever you do DO NOT look at the camera!"🤣

MMMMMMMM that David Hemmings was always so good looking . RIP David and Steve !
Loved Heinz had a crush on him access
Did they not realize the drummer could sing? As in, would soon be one of the greatest rock singers of all time?
He wasn’t a singer yet, he was a teen actor at this point, attending London’s Italia Conti acting school.
@@glengamble526 Not so, he started singing on stage when he was about 12 in Oliver! and sang the Artful Dodger's parts on the 1960 soundtrack.
The 60s were the best times
He's not playing them drums and don't think the guitarists are playing either
Rock n roll was never that cool again
the bass face is comicle he looks mad as fuck.
They wanted heinz to be a massive star that's why he is singing
They chose wrong.
Heinz: _"Don't die of sorrow..."_
Don't dye your hair would've been a better thought.
"we're rich" shouts marriott at the end. Ironic, considering the way the music industry someone contrived to keep him poor through his whole career. 🙁
He looks like a thunderbird doll,🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🙄🙄🥺😬🤐🤯
The boys in the International Rescue Team looked more human.
The guitar player's face look familiar?
David Hemmings
David Hemmings who had a long career as an actor.

Wrong....Marriott could actually play drums and that was David Hemmings (actor) on guitar and Terry Belcher on Bass.
Steve was an actor at this point, not yet focusing in his music career. He was an acting student at London’s Italia Conti acting school.
@@Super241946 Wrong. Steve couldn't play the drums at this point and the "bass player" was an actor named John Pike.
Heinz was the star because Joe Meek wanted his arse...
Didnt get it though , or his arse
Bad case of lip sync

Billy Dean, aka Mark Douglas, (real name Billy Gray). He also had recordings of him done by Joe Meek released in his own names.
Bass player is John Pike. He was a child actor.
