Brings back my childhood memories, when older brother and sister used to dance . A little party in our living room with family friends, it's like a dream 👌👍👍👏👏👏
A classic song from Heinz with great backing from the Outlaws and killer lead guitar from a teenage Ritchie Blackmore, one of my late Mothers favorite 45s Auckland New Zealand 2023
Heinz was one of those unfortunates that was peaking just as the Beatles emerged, and was swept away with the resultant hysteria along with the likes of John Leyton, Shane Fenton, Vince Taylor, and a host of other British performers and all those American singers that were touring at the time who were named Bobby something or other.
In all honesty, Vince Taylor’s undoing was his fault, he started taking acid and just wasn’t the same after, quite tragic. I still blast Brand New Cadillac, it’s rocking rockabilly that’s kicks like a mule.
Two quick thoughts. First, the Beatles arrival was a tsunami, nothing could stand in its way. Secondly this pre-Beatles era was quite short but also quite outstanding and would have stood up well if the Beatles hadn't arrived when they did. Tied in with that is that if the stars of this transition era had been good enough they would have withstood the shock from the Beatles, a few stars made it through. We in the UK were blessed.
I wasn't born until the late 70's, so growing up I was mainly into the 80's and 90's for music. But for me, the 60's was the very best era for good music! Wish I could have been born the the 40/50's, so I could have been around to experience this fantastic era.
This ,in fact,is a tribute to eddie cochran with that song.Heinz was one of my favourite performers in the mid sixties and he did a real rock'n'roll, with great melodies.Unfortunately ,he had success only for a short time
A mate told me he knew Heinz in the 1970's when he lived near his Gran in London - apparently he used to paint buses for London Transport and did a bit of painting & decorating in his spare time.
Heinz was honoured, in his native Eastleigh, by having a street named after him. Other roads in the area were named after Benny Hill, and Thomas Sopwith.
Telstar is a quite magnificent film . Con O'Neill gets it just right , the descent into madness is a gripping piece . There's plenty of laughs and nostalgia too though
JJ nailed Hienz Burt, did you know that when JJ was across seas the director called him 4 in the morning and was like “do you wanna play Heinz?” And JJ was like: “who’s Heinz?” JJ said he couldn’t even sing or play a guitar. But JJ nailed this part
We all know its a clip from the film Telstar - The Joe Meek Story. It does say at the top though - Heinz Burt Tribute. What did we all expect, an undiscovered rare "live performance"? Lets stop over analysing everything and criticising. Just enjoy the fact that somebody has gone to the time and trouble to create/edit this, for the rest of us to enjoy.
We had a gang of Teds in our street, one was nicknamed " Ozie Plum, your Redskin chum ", for god's sake dont ask me why !! He was always eating out of a large box of Sugar Puffs tucked under his arm, simple, magical times !!
And Clem Cantini on drums who later was to become arguably the greatest session drummer this country ever produced & played on numerous no 1 hit singles for loads of different groups including for my money "Everlasting Love" in 1968 by Love affair featuring 16 year old Steve Ellis on lead Vocals!!!
This solves a memory issuse for me. I recall my older brother taking me to watch a film in Richmond Odeon when i was only about 10 years old. This song has very emotional memories for me but I always thought I had seen a film about Eddie and he had starred in it...
Heinz Burt should never have left the Tornados, this was his one and only true pop chart hit he had shortly after he left the group but sadly there after it was all down hill no matter how some fans try and sugar coat it. he was very young its like any of the pop stars were but always looked so bloody vain. Th footage was a good take on the character and those silk suits of the period.
This is from the film Telstar one of the worst films ever made Heinz would have been so upset by the way he was portrayed in the film, and by the way i am a big Heinz fan and a big Joe Meek fan, what John Repsh wrote in is book Joe Meek the Telstar man and whats in the film are totally different

The solo guitarist was Ritchie Blackmore, founding member of Deep Purple and Rainbow, author of Smoke On The Water.
Scene from British film - Jimmy Carr is in the film as an extra. James Corden on Drums . And Ralf little from Royal family
Great tune
I am 78 now but i can remember it well...great music!!!...

We love Eddie, rest in peace.
Heinz was awesome.
Also with "the tornados" on Bass.
Love this song, always puts a smile on my face.😍
The fabulous 60s!! I was 15yrs old when this was in the charts.

Agreed. I saw the Brian Hyland tour just before the Beatles broke and he got washed away too.

Did Shane Fenton become Alvin Stardust ?
@@peteredwards338 Bernard William Jewry aka Shane Fenton aka Alvin Stardust

RIP Heinz Burt, a very talented guitarist and singer. i love this tribute to Eddie
When rock and roll was just fun. Love the Shadows' dance.
Heinz was a Part of Rock and Roll And We All miss His Music 🎶 and Charisma.

Knew him in the '80s when he worked in the Paint Shop at Eastleigh Loco Works.
Lovely bloke.
A mate told me he knew Heinz in the 1970's when he lived near his Gran in London - apparently he used to paint buses for London Transport and did a bit of painting & decorating in his spare time.
What a gem!
more great music
Heinz was very underrated unfortunately
I was 10 years old when this came out. Heinz was noticeable for his blond hair and was talked about a lot. Great music.
En av dessa fantastiska 60 tals låtar, den här låten fanns på min bandspelare
Just heard an interview that said Ritchie Blackmore was the guitarist who recorded on this song. Yes the Smoke on the Water Blackmore.
Glazed Doughnut, on drums!
Drummer is a true champion 😀
If you wonder who isEddie? Well it is Eddie Cochran! You'd rather listen to him!
C'mon Everybody !
what a fantistic voice she had R.I.P
She? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You mean he?? Heinz was with Billy Fury's old backing group The Tornados (Telstar was their biggest hit)before he went solo.
Always liked
This is a tribute to Heinz burt and with the original song.
The two ''suites'' standing in the wings.
From what I can remember seeing him perform on stage, he never moved like in this tribute video. He was actually more like Eddie Cochran.
This is a great song always heard it at home my dad would have his music on, I didn't realise James Corden played the drums though 🤔
Chris Pips He doesn't play the drums. That's from The Joe Meek Story movie. Worth watching.
I thought it was him, too. But you're saying it isn't him on drums?🤔
Lol, great minds think alike mate 😂😂😂
I also thought it was James Corden!
@@VerbalKint74 It is James Corden !!!
It IS James Corden, playing Clem Cattini..from The Joe Meek Story
Hahaha i just thought that too doppleganger or what.....
What a film 'Telstar' is. Fab acting by all.
It's enough to piss anyone off to find they're being played by James Corden.
Amazing likeness, must be his dad
@@CrankCase08 Yes, Clem had a chubby face, but if you look at old promo pics of the Tornados he wasnt a bloater like Corden is.
The so-called "Live" video is from the bio-pic "Telestar:The Joe Meek Story" with actor JJ Feild as Heinz.
+E.C. Whittemore I know sorry about that I named it wrong it ment to be a tribute to him.
Blimey, I watched this a few years back and thought it was Heinz....good tribute though...ill look for the original now though
E.C. Whittemore that's what I though too

Ritchie Blackmore on lead guitar on the original studio track

Never knew he lived Eastleigh 😮 just up the road from me

@@icdgyixify not many I guess ! I Googled him! Interesting
Nice go at recreating it - love the Joe Meek film and as we sadly dont have any film of Heinz performing it this is a good tribute! Thanks!
There is a short clip taken from the Little and Large show, along with Screaming Lord Such, Wee Willie Harris, and wait for It Jess Conrad.
Richie Blackmore playing lead guitar on the original recording!

KILLSAGAIN Edition nice work!
as kids we use to say that Heinz was a "has Bean" a joke of the times.
it's brilliant and great film. At the risk of being a prat, it couldn't be Oh Boy in October 1963 - had to be RSG or Thank you lucky stars.
nice video tnx

By all accounts Heinz was rubbish at playing the guitar as well and had to have others fill in for him, as told by Clem and Levern.
I za to was kocham .
Missed This-1.

Hohner Bass before Paul McCartney?
James Corden can't seem to make his mind whether his sticks are for drumming or for a Chinese meal.
Its not Heinz in the video. Its an actor playing him from the movie Telstar.Which was a
biography of Joe Meek.
