OMG this was so helpful!! I have been going around and around with different trucks, set ups etc and looking at so many campers and I'm with you. I always landed on the chassis cab idea and thought I was off the rails. But you've done exactly what I was thinking, my only question would have been the single wheel conversion. I just dont know if I could spend so much on that aspect of it. But otherwise, sweet rig, nice job, well done!!

Does the company that did the lift do a 2 to 2 1/2 inch leveling kit for the 4550 5500 I have a 2021
Great video with lots of good information. With the air suspension you installed, how does the truck ride when unloaded. Does it feel like you’re going to loose your teeth? Thx.

newbie. whats a good truck to start with a ram 5500 or ford to carry a cirrus 820 camper
I am surprised there is not a market for such a truck. I know you can find ex-military type stuff, or surplus intended for the military, but some of that is cab over wheels, and parts are impossible to find and mechanics for those are impossible to find.
So I have a few question. How are the mpt 81 holding up. You here that they don't last 20k miles. Did you ever look into the Goodyear g275 tires ? In a past video you said you plan on putting the front air suspension on. How is that going to work since you have a lift kit? Use a puck to add height ?
Sam, sorry for the late response. The tires are doing great after 5,000 miles on them. I did not look into any other tires in this size. I have since decided to not do the front air ride at this time. Thank you so much for your questions!
What brand are the fender flares?
Commercial insurance is NOT a must. It depends on your insurance company and sometimes the state you live. I have GEICO and do not have a commercial policy after confirming it’s for personal and recreational use.

Do you have to stop at the weight scales?
No you do not have to stop... you can bypass the weigh scales as you are not in a commercial operation.
Mind sharing your mileage with that gear ratio in several different scenarios.
Only Chevy has s straight one piece frame front to back. Ford has a 2 piece frame curved, bolted and welded together. Ram frame is curved but one piece. Ford and Ram dropped frame for easy access. Chevy Frame uses a thicker grade steel than Ram and Ford.
