Interesting, I just did the power pack two, it's the same thing except without the manifold, but mine came with a procal 4... I'm just surprised you didn't get the procal 4 considering it looks like we did this only 6 months apart from each other. And this is the program that should have come from Ford right from the factory.
What is the runner control vent? Mine on my 2020 mustang gt was broken by the plastic engine shroud and I need to know how important it is cuz I need the car for work
If the runner control isn't working, it may trigger a code. Regardless, there should be sensors that tell the PCM if the runners are open or closed so that runs correctly.
From what I have seen in all the video's is the power pack 2 kit is the way to go.. Most of the extra power that is made by that bigger throttle body.. Power gains seem similar..
Outstanding video. Quick question, is there a reason why this kit is only for the 2015-17 and not till the current models? For the life of me I've looked everywhere for an answer, feel dumb for asking as I'm sure the answer is probably simple but, id just like a clear cut answer...
I'm not sure, but I suspect that the 2018-up intake manifold is already pretty good. The GT350 intake manifold probably isn't much of an improvement over the 2018-up manifold. The do offer a cold air intake and tune: performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-9603-M8B It's nice because it's a factory-quality tune so drivability is going to be fabulous.
@@Mustang-Geek received some further feedback from other people I had asked (yesterday) and they also mentioned the intake manifold 2018+ being marginally different from the GT350's. Just thought I'd come back to share the info. Thanks again!
The bolts that hold down the rails are the same bolts for the heater hose saddles, if memory serves. So I guess the answer is "yes," but that's because it's part of the process.
Can someone tell me how to get this tuned correctly? 4 different tuners have not worked out the terrible air surge in 1st gear. Ford will only give me a calibration/voucher unless I re-purchase the Power Pack 3 for $2,000! Bama and 3 different Dyno tuners could not figure it out and now I don't have a reliable 1st gear.
I have the Power Pack 2 installed with the procal tune on my 2015 gt premium. I want to replace the stock manifold and install the gt 350 manifold. Since I already have the procal tune already would this be just a plug and play?
@@Mustang-Geek No I have the gt350 throttle body installed via the power pack 2 already. I want to install the gt350 manifold and take out the factory gt manifold. I'm in the same situation. Unless Ford Performance has started offering an upgrade, we have to buy PP3 for the manifold and tune. If I do this, I'm gonna sell the throttle body and intake to get some of my money back.
Same scenario here , I own a 2015 mustang gt with a PP2 and once my runners went out the window on my OEM manifold I was forced to buy the PP3 pack because you need the pro cal that’s married with the kit , unfortunately . But once you purchase it apparently you don’t need to go back to stock because it wouldn’t overlap the current tune on the vehicle. As far as my PP2 I will be selling that kit with precautions that they might need to contact ford performance tech line to see if they can still use the kit and tune
In theory, a corrugated intake actually flows better than a smooth intake tube. The corrugations allow for engine movement, and have zero impact on flow capacity. See also: why golf balls have dimples: ruclips.net/video/fcjaxC-e8oY/видео.html
@@peteartussee1202 Yes, for what you get, it's a nice setup. This, combined with exhaust, and you've squeezed about as much naturally aspirated horsepower from a Gen 2 as possible without getting into the long block.
Not sure. It's possible. Not sure how much power can be unlocked with the tune and the intake. There may not be peak gains, but gains after the factory manifold falls off in the upper RPM range, for sure.
This is a Mustang load dyno, not a Dynojet. Don't get hung up on the numbers, but the relative gains and how the stock intake falls off long before the GT350 intake.
This is the best video related to the pp3 pack on RUclips. I'm curious to see WOT videos on the street and quarter mile times
Thanks for the feedback. I'll see if we can get those additional videos and info to you!
No drive review?
The customer did the drive. On the street, it's a subtle difference.
Im litterally getting this for my 15 after getting state reffed in cali, couldnt find stock intake so i had to go this route to be carb legal
That's a big advantage of this kit: 50-state lega!

Does the engine cover fit after this install? Great video btw!
I don't think so because the intake is shaped differently.

@@El.compa.chuy.21 Yes, my understanding is the 2018+ intake manifold was influenced by the GT350 manifold.
The 2018+ Mustangs already incorporate the redesigned manifold, an upgraded throttle body, and air box.
How would this pair up with some long tube headers?
Well, but you'll need to update the calibration to compensate for the long tube headers. And it won't be 50-state emissions compliant.
Great video - impressive as always!
Thanks Uncle Jeremy! ;)
Can i still get it at dealer?
Yes, I would think so because it's still available from Ford Performance Parts: performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-9452-M8
do you loosen the fuel rails bolts before you lifted the manifold out?

Is the loss of torque noticeable in the lower rpm range?
Not at all.
Why would they go with a corrugated intake for that would cause air turbulence why not a smooth intake?

Not sure. The tune, surely not. Maybe the intake manifold. You'd need an experienced tuner to calibrate it correctly.

What the hell? Why is that car only dynoing at 324? When my 2016 was stock, it dynoed at over 400 wheel
All dynos are different, and this Mustang dyno is especially stingy. Regardless, the before/after gains are what matter.
