Thanks for the video. Had exact same issue..no backlights..seemed like a short in power supply. Replaced power supply and saved a $700.00 toss I didn't have. Great video. Thanks
Just fixed my 4k 75" Samsung with your guidance! So pleased and immensely grateful!! Thank you!
Thanks for the shout out
Man i wished he had showed the board number he put on that’s what I was waiting for but great job on using a different board that actually works 👍🏼
BN-44- 00808D is the original power board he took out , but replaced it with BN-44-00808A.. hope that helps...
I might have to buy a board like yours if the main fuse doesn't work, I would like to know where you got your board and what specs to use to get it , thanks.
Thanks for you video.. I'm having the same issue.. did u notice any difference on screen when using the 808a?. Was it the same or better?.. thanks
What you should have found out, is why did the power board short? Often, it is failing leds that comes to a point where they draw too much amps and they blow the transistors which in turn blow the power board. So your TV might work for a few weeks, monhts, maybe, but the main issue is not resolved. Unless as your title states, it is lightning that blew it, then the fix for the original power board would have been very easy, I fix them all the time.
I would have started by "checking voltages" to try to isolate the problem. I also got a little dizzy with the camera movement.
What did you mean by swap out the LCDs on higher end TVs? What did you mean by that?
You Did Well✌.
1:52 tcon is behind the plate, also never rest on the lcd panel. should be working on table or ground.
Why would you not recommend checking the transistors or capacitors?
Just replace, costs total 5$-10$ all for much better components.
@@nihonkokusai ah, ok, thx
There does not seem to be a 'fight' here! The PSU board fuse blew, checked and indicated a direct short-circuit on the board and you conveniently replaced the board! A direct short is easy to repair by an elimination method and could have identified the faulty component! It may be a rectifier, a transistor or a MOSFET, replacing the component would have been much cheaper! Anyone could easily replace a board and say they have done a good job! Thanks anyway!
Good deal.
Do you have a site to get good reasonable priced parts?
Shopjimmy.com. But sometimes I just use eBay
I might have this PS board. Send me your p/n.
I have a Samsung 70in NU6900 4K -- I have the back cover off, the fuse is okay -- the backlight will come on, and then the red standby light goes on twice and then resets and continues this cycle -- Power supply or mainboard? Thanks for any help
Probably main.
The only thing I wanted to see was changing the fuse and it's the only part you cut out. What a waste of time.
We'll actually changing the fuse won't do anything... It will just open up again.. if the fuse is blown, then there is possibly a malfunction in the board itself.
did your same method but when i unhook the main board from power supply board the back lights work. So is my problem to do with the main board itself since there was blacklight constant once i unhooked?
What's you symptoms?
@@TECHIELIFE I have a samsung un55mu6500fxza when i plug the tv in it just keeps turning on then off. I took apart the tv and unhooked the main cord with chip going to the power supply with the plug. I plugged the power cord back into the tv and it stayed on.
@@jamiecroxton that could be the main board.. the green one.
@@TECHIELIFE well just sent back a good main board it was still having the same issues. What else could it be the other board?
@@jamiecroxton does your sound work?
Hello! I have same problem my TV is a 60” Samsung Model UN58J5190AF and I have a multimeter. And where Volt I can use for check the components or fuse? It does not turn on the red light and it does not turn on. Help me please.. I appreciate it! Thanks 😊
You jumped the on board fuse with an Automotive Fuse???What AMP 15A? Then you blew a breaker and say smoke rose off the board??? Well if it was not fried it is now. Why did you not see if the fuse was shorted.......like it should be...if it was not burned open. you don't jump a fuse what is it a 2 Amp?
Hello , Can I use 65 inch power supply for 55 inch tv ? Series 6 ku
Maybe. But probably not.
Where can I order the boards ?
We should network and share in our repairs.
Reach me at kennethpappas@Gmail.com
In which place
where can I get a board for $20.?
eBay
Five hundred dollars.? My mom and dad give less than five hundred dollars for their brand new 65 inch vizio v series.
Yeah v series is their cheap mass production level. If you want to compare this tv , then you'd be looking at the m series. I have repaired multiple Vizio's... And usually it is the LEDs ... If that's the case then the repair usually will cost more than the tv itself... At least with Samsung, the panel is pretty good and last a long time.. this tv was mostly likely damaged due to a thunderstorm which no tv is superior to. BTW, I use this tv still to this day. Works perfect Everytime.
@@TECHIELIFE some Samsung's have defects like the Samsung NU65TU700. it has a bad defect it goes on and off by itself. People who called repair men said that Samsung said it had two undersized capacitors in the power supply but when customers had them replaced it still had the same problem. Finally a repair man not associated with Samsung replaced the main board and it solved the issue. Samsung still refuses to admit the model had the defect and people now are trying to sue the company. The last time my mom and I went to Costco they where still selling them the exact same model. Look up the complaints for this model online I think you would be surprised.
@@davidbrown8303 Wow I didnt know that, my tv has same problem, so as u saying, it causes defect from manufactor? but my tv almost 5 years old, and can i call samsung to complain or just throw the tv... so bad when hear your saying.
Old power supply looks much more beefier
Where do get replacement boards?
Shopjimmy.com or ebay
Thanks for the video good sir😀
wat is the name of blue color smaller one round shape
Perhaps, a Metal-oxide varistor (MOV) used as a surge protector!
nice vedo sir
Thanks for watching
About 380 $ in total.Not bad
Yeah not bad considering how new the TV is.
My tv Samsung blink red light no power on tv i open the back cover to see any damage circuit no found it about this its may come from the power supply but no damage found help me
.... the tv can play once time in a month by surprise
Very older bord....
Find the short.
How do u take the fuse out
With a soldering iron and Cooper wick wire
No the ceramic fuse that he was pointing to, pops out. Fuses are not soldered in.
You have no idea, how such an powerboard works. one can see , where and how you are measuring.
Talk too damn much
you have not got a clue what ya doing you could hurt
