Additional Notes:
- Atmos tracks seem to be encoded in Dolby Digital Plus EAC3 codec instead of AAC
- There are also plain 5.1 Dolby Audio renditions which is a subset of Atmos, like 480p to 1080p
- I’ve tried with my Audio Technica headphones wired in to my Mac, and the spatial effect is worse.
- Lossless AND Atmos come in a format called Dolby TrueHD which only is limited to BluRays, and can’t be decoded by iOS or macOS yet
- Dolby Atmos arrives in India in July as more Indian artists get their music upmixed to Atmos.
Have you tried KZs? And hey if you have cash laying around I'd suggest blon bl-03. Best budget iems. I use ZST X with DAC on my realme 7 pro for hi res listening. I would like to see some audiophile stuff too on this page.

Very well made video as every one here said it. Kudos to you! :) You hit the nail with the statement "Artistic intent is important." It will take time to catch up with the Music mixing engineers getting better at this (Myself included). As with every shift in technology, this format will take a while to perfect. Apple Music with Atoms is a going to be a great space for BGM/OST Albums. Not sure why the big labels hasn't yet tapped onto this opportunity. Since they all almost have their content ready. Cant wait for those Hans' scores to be out!
To whatever extent this tech moves, the primary principle of atmos relies on the physical space around you and not just the perception of space. Hence why the headphone atmos translation may always stay one step behind the actual cinematic atmos translation. But this is definitely progress for the overall Music listening experience. Cant wait for the India update to role out officially.

What I do love is the quality of loseless audio. But still I have to be honest I didn’t spect myself to be wearing wired headphones on a regular basis like the good old days. So I’m keeping my loseless (HD) audio music sessions for late at night at home
You should try and give Dolby Atmos Music another shot, next time on a dedicated Atmos-enabled soundsystem. It makes a night and day difference.

Dolby was never much of a deal for me back then in android devices also and don't' think it will be in my 12 but yes it depends. I mean for few Artists I would love to dive in details such as Ben Khan, Jai Paul, Basecamp etc.

Dolby Atmos on Apple Music is pretty much hit or miss. Some tracks are literally missing instruments while others the vocals are butchered. I can’t believe Apple is letting the labels mess up this much.
it's the mixers fault, not dolby, apple or tidal. john hanes is the worst of them

I love spatial audio for tv shows and movies. Actually if you watch music videos on Apple Music you gonna hear the real spatial audio just like we all would love it sounds on music but that’s not the case. Trust me you can ever turn on “follow iPhone” on the settings and you can turn your head while you hear the music video in Apple Music and is gonna do the same thing like movies and shows audio it’s gonna seems like is coming from the phone like if you weren’t wearing the headphones. Just like it does on movies….

Dolby atmos with headphones….very lame, however if you have an apple tv hooked up to a Dolby atmos 7.2.4 home theater setup like I do, GAME CHANGER. Apple TV supports Dolby atmos through Apple Music and my receiver reads spatial audio tracks on Apple Music as Dolby atmos. The sound is INCREDIBLE. True surround sound with the setup. Center channel is only vocals with all the audio coming through surround and overhead speakers. Bohemian rhapsody gives me chills every time. Headphones not worth a switch but if you have a Dolby atmos enabled home theater set up, game changing, friends always find it mind blowing. Worth it for that reason and that reason alone

I have to disagree with Ariana. 7 rings and SYT for sure are really basic, but she had some atmos songs that are literally insane because of the harmonies and instruments.
you need to listen with DAC and audiophile earphone instead of basic true wireless music , you wont get it what you want to listen, apple earpod is basic earphone kind of quality not at audiophile , Dolby music for surround speaker as well

no one seems to have noticed, but 7 Rings was once better, there was movement in the first version of Atmos, I know because I have the original Atmos version, but suddenly they updated the Atmos version and make it that shit that is a bad copy of the stereo version

Dolby atoms and spatial audio in my opinion is a gimmick and it makes the songs sound worse. Why is apple marketing something that makes things sound worse?..their normal AAC or even lossless sounds wayyyyy better
