I have less than two years on the original cartridge. Delta was great in identifying my faucet through text and pictures and sent me a replacement at no charge after simply asking when I purchased it and from where. They wanted no verification. Easy replacement
Thanks for the heads up on the warranty. The cartridge at Lowe’s was about $50. The fine folks at Delta are sending me one free. Great customer service. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the excellent video. We changed the cartridge by ourselves after the plumber quoted $400. Took about 20 minutes (calcium buildup slowed us down).
Thank you for the video. It really helped. I was also able to call Delta and get the replacement cartridge sent free, it has been over 5 years since I installed the kitchen faucet.
Thank you so much for this video. I thought I had just springs and washers to replace only to find it was a cartridge assembly. With your information I was able to call Delta and get a free cartridge replacement. It should arrive in about a week. They suggested to flush the line prior to install. Hopefully the new cartridge will last longer than a few months. I had mines for 7 months before it started to leak if you turned it off in any position but one straight centered.
Thank you so much for your RUclips video on "How to install a Delta Single-Handle Cartridge Faucet Part#: RP505870 On Sat. 10/31/20, I was able to install it quite easily. I just watched your video, & I took a lot a notes. In less than 45 minutes, I had a non- dripping kitchen sink. Keep up your RUclips Video Postings, so the RUclips Community will continue to benefit from your knowledge Best regards.
Thank you, I was able to identify my problem and fix it myself by your tutorial of looking up the cartridge #. I was confounded when it wasn't just a replacement of the spring/valve assembly.
I have a Delta Seville kitchen faucet. I have a hard time turning off the water. I have to have to handle in a just right place for turning water off. Very frustrating for me!!! I have had the faucet for maybe 4 yrs and the drop-down sprayer is rusting on the part right above the bell where the sprayer connects back to the faucet.
Is that the main cause for dripping water after closing it? Mine drips when I close it softly but it stops when I close it fast and hard.. should I replace the valve?
I couldn't turn bonnet. I used channel lock and adjustable wrench but it wouldn't turn. It was too hard. I couldn't open to replace the valve assembly.
Very disappointing, how the old reliable and serviceable ball and teflon socket with two donut gaskets units, which are still in use in thousands of installations, was "upgraded" by a cartridge unit that wears out at least as fast, then is simply thrown out and replaced by another. Our fifty year old business had several in sinks, and I only ever replaced o-rings, seals, and the donuts - the stainless balls lasted indefinitely, while the brief experiment with nylon balls was a disaster. At least Delta still supports the old reliable versions, which can often be revived with a soak in CLR to remove caked on deposits, then put back into service.
This is sad that the parts fail so quickly. I have the same problem and luckily i am the original owner and will get warranty replacement. Faucet is only 2 years old and its already failed. Lousy design made to fail like so many new products these days.
You made several serious mistakes. You should have super cleaned all the male and female threads. First use an old tooth brush then use a super fine wire stainless steel or brass wire brush. Then wipe the threads dry with a clean lint free rag. Then generously coat the threads with thick Food Grade Silicone Grease. After assembly simply wipe off the excess grease. Take it from an old retired plumber: these parts lock together with mineral deposits unless you coat the parts with thick Food Grade Silicone Grease. Sometimes you have to replace the entire faucet because it won't come apart or you destroy it trying to get it apart.
Hello I have a delta single Lever Pilar touch kitchen faucet and it makes noise when I turn faucet on and off? Can you recommend trouble shooting? Cliff

Awesome. Lowes had the part, 15 minutes to fix. Thanks
Your Kitchen faucet is like ours, did you get a OEM Delta part? On Amazon a few from Danco and other companies half the price of the Delta...
Exactly what I was looking for. Very helpful muchas gracias
I had the same failuer but what if the faucet continues to leak after you replace the cartridge?

My cartridge was a Delta just like that. Home depot has it for $35

WD-40 spray and let soak a few minutes then try again
Excellent and well done video

Much easier way to identify cartridge: there should be a sticker on the water line under the sink with the info.
Awesome video. Perfect fix. Thank you very much for posting.
Great video.. helped me out!
It worked. Thank you!

Harder water wears parts down sooner.
