    Great video. So helpful. My Moen Faucet looks very similar. When I turn off the facet, water drips from the main area. What would you suggest we replace (e.g., cartridge, etc) thanks for sharing this.

    • @learnsavediy
      @learnsavediy  4 месяца назад

      I would guess there’s a bad seal or oring causing the water to only leak when the pressure is increased.

    I have a similar Moen faucet as your’s and took a picture of it to identify the model and submitted it on their Moen website. A month later no response from Moen. Guess I’ll go to Home Depot and buy another brand faucet with better customer service.

      I haven't had great luck with their customer service either. Don't forget to keep your receipt in case you need parts for your future unit so they can send you free replacement parts.

    Meon sent some new parts for me to replace including the handle mechanism kit. The retainer nut doesnt screw all the way down to the top of the spout leaving a gap between the dome and spout after putting everything together. Everything looks right and water turns back on and everything is fine. What is the issue here?

    • @learnsavediy
      @learnsavediy  2 месяца назад

      Is it the same nut? I’ve gotten many replacement kits over the years for different things and I can’t tell you how many times the fasteners have been different.

    My friend's house has only been built a few years ago, but her moen sink sprayer is stuck.
    I turned water off, but it's not the sprayer head that's stuck, the water is coming out where I disconnected the connection in the sprayer tube under the sink.
    I don't see any buildup. Not in the sprayer head, not in the disconnect in the tube under sink. After I reconnected and turned water back on under sink, now the water is coming out of both the faucet and the sprayer.
    This happened after I used the sprayer a couple of times. No changes in pressure were felt. It's just that the sprayer wouldn't turn off.

      @learnsavediy  3 месяца назад

      If you have figured that the sprayer head is not the issue, then it's likely the diverter. Have them contact Moen to see about replacement parts since it should be under warranty given they are the original owner.

    I have low water flow out of the same faucet. I took off the airater with no improvement. As the water gets hotter, the flow gets better until I turn it back to cold, and then flow decreases. What would be causing that.? I've replaced cartridges several times with no improvement. Moen keeps wanting to send me another cartridge , i'm frustrated, any help or advice?

    • @learnsavediy
      @learnsavediy  4 месяца назад

      Sounds like it's an issue with the cold side since hot seems to work well. Have you check the cold water line to rule that out of the equation (as in removing it from the faucet and seeing how it flows into a bucket)? If it doesn't, I would guess there is some build up in the holes I showed causing low flow. You could try taking it apart and putting some CLR in there. If the water line wasn't the issue nor the cartridge, most people would probably swap the entire faucet but it might just need to be cleaned out.

    Any idea why my handle is so wobbly? The set screw is screwed all the way in but the handle is not as firm as it once was

    • @learnsavediy
      @learnsavediy  3 месяца назад

      If the set screw is tight and making a secure connection than more than like your screw (@2:36) is loose since the stopper/handle is held down to the faucet.

    How would i fix the spout that became lose from the plate

    • @learnsavediy
      @learnsavediy  5 месяцев назад +1

      If the spout is loose from the base, you need to tighten the nut under the sink.

      What if there is no nut or it broke.
      I would just need to buy a new one right?
      Plumber keeps telling me a need a whole new faucet and I don't believe him.
      There are no leaks its just the spout and cover placte they is lose.
      I asked him if I could buy the parts
      He keeps saying no
      I need a whole new one
      Ty!,

    How to remove the screw in the faucet handle once its been stripped?

    • @learnsavediy
      @learnsavediy  2 месяца назад

      I assume you’re talking about the head of the screw being stripped? If it’s partially stripped, you can put a rubber band over the tip of your screwdriver and that might help get some grip. If it’s completely stripped you can try using a hacksaw to cut a slot so you can use a flathead screwdriver, you can drill out the screw (be careful not to mess up the threads), or you can use an easy out screw extractor (they can be hit or miss but it might work!). As silly as it is, try another screwdriver too. Some have better machining than others.
      ETA: I think you are talking about the set screw in the handle? That one id try a larger Allen key or just drill it out.

    My Moen does NOT have that hole anywhere to let me take it apart. How do I do it?

    • @learnsavediy
      @learnsavediy  4 месяца назад

      Do you know the model? If you do, you can look up the diagram or manual on Moen’s website. If you don’t, send a picture of the faucet to Moen and they will identify it for you. They usually have some sort of set screw that holds the handle in place.

    Help!
    The cartridge is near impossible to pull out. I’m literally standing on the sink and pulling like Sword in The Stone at Disneyland.
    Any more tips on pulling it out? Is it really just brute force?
    UPDATE:
    I used a screwdriver and stuck it in the side hole of the cart, gently leveraged it down and little by little popped up and was able to pull it out! Hallelujah!

    • @learnsavediy
      @learnsavediy  3 месяца назад

      Try some CLR or vinegar on the cartridge to help loosen it up. Once that sits, you can use your pliers to move it back and forth. Might even need to tap on it with something to break the corrosion up. It is a matter of brute force unfortunately. Some plumbers would just call it and replace the whole faucet.
