I may have previously commented on this video; it doesn't matter.
Thank you for not only showing how to fix this specific faucet, but more importantly the process of _how_ to go through this type of repair in general. The details you show, keeping track of the parts during disassembly, the caution to not lose parts or damage things help to make it easier to reassemble it and know where the new parts go and fit together. You're not just demonstrating doing it, you're explaining the how and why behind it. Add in the recommendations for tools and using them properly, and the lesson is complete!
Well done!
Thanks so much! You're correct, it is really important to keep organized and not lose any parts. Have a great day!
The little details - “the big end of the valve spring goes into the body” is exactly what I needed!
My pleasure, thanks!
You are the most precise teacher in fixing this Delta faucet among the many different videos I watched. You have taught me well! I had successfully fixed my faucet now :)
Great to hear, thanks!
This saved me! There are hundreds of leaky faucet videos out there, but yours is the only one that brought up that the handle can get stuck from excess build up. I thought mine was broken because the set screw cranked violently and came all the way out. Nope, it was just SUPER stuck. Some light and persistent taps and it finally came undone! I was a hair away from calling a plumber because I thought I had busted the whole thing. Thanks for the video, man! You probably saved me a few hundred bucks!
You're very welcome! Sometimes, it's a detail that makes an explanation work.
Thank you so much, Bill, for your instructions on how to fix a leaking delta kitchen faucet. I tried other online instructions but they weren't nearly as good. You are a very good teacher. You don't assume someone must already know some of it. You aren't cocky, but I suspect you are above average intelligence, because you explain everything thoroughly and are used to people not knowing everything you know. Thank you again. Mickey
Thanks so much Mickey!
@@SparkyChannel Thank you for the instruction. Hmm, who is the smooth jazz artist at the end? I might know the artist, but not that particular song.
"Three Wise People" by E's Jammy Jams ... I love the tune! @@musikpal
This is one of the best how-to-do-it videos I've ever seen. Thanks for making the repair job totally clear. 1.5 K thumbs up vs. 0 thumbs down kinda says it all! Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much Larry!
RUclips doesn't want anybody to feel bad, so they don't show how many thumbs down.
This is the one to watch. Demonstrated and explained in 8 minutes. Didn’t waste about 25 minutes. Got right to the point. This worked. Thanks!
Thanks Scott!
Dropping a comment so you know that even 2 years on this video is helping folks make sure they don't miss a step in a basic repair ;)
Thanks so much Chris!
Excellent job , both explaining and showing repair.
Excellent video, helped me out. Glad you mentioned the plumbers grease.
If you use plumber's grease, the next guy to work on the faucet will thank you. And that next guy might be you! :)
We watched the video -- several times, stopping and starting as necessary -- and we fixed the faucet! Thank You Sir!
Excellent! Way to go!
What an amazing step by step explination with incredible attention to little details! I don't normally leave comments but I wanted give a big thank you for helping me fix my faucet. It works like new and it saved me from having to replace the entire system.
Great job!
You rock Sparky! Great diy video. My faucet is 2 yrs old. 021224 I called Delta and they are shipping me my seat spring repair kit, free of charge. They were kind and helpful on the phone. I am stunned to see a Lifetime Guarantee being honored with no muss/fuss/fine print weaseling. Go Delta! (faucets, not plane carrier....that is a diff story) 😜
LOL! Great to hear.
My kitchen faucet is 22 years old and the chrome still looks like brand new.
I called today and they told me what parts they were going to send for FREE.
I will receive then in 7 to 8 days she said.
What a great company!
Excellent!@@davidh.8513
Thank you for this video! I had just bought the kit not realizing that Delta would send one for free (good to know!). With your help, I managed to fix my leaky kitchen faucet by myself. Yay!
Way to go Peg! Great job! :)
If you have a Big Box home store near you, it's probably better to buy the repair kit there. It could takes weeks to get the free parts from Delta while you deal with the leaky faucet every day until then. The repair kits are only a few dollars.
I am very much a novice at plumbing repair. But your step by step, detailed instructions made it a cinch to fix the faucet that was spraying all over the place around the handle. I do not have time to call a plumber or call Delta and wait for the parts since we have company coming to stay in the guest room for Thanksgiving. I can't believe that I fixed it myself by replacing the parts I bought from the hardware store. Thank you so much.
Great job!
Thank you soooo much! I was able to fix my mom’s old Delta 150 series kitchen faucet. Thanks to your advice, I was able to get all the parts from Delta free (except the steel ball assembly, which they either forgot or it’s not a covered part). Anyway, after I purchased the ball assembly separately, I cleaned the faucet and replaced the parts exactly as in your video. Everything is perfect now. I appreciate your no-nonsense video, with its clear concise instructions. No endless self-aggrandizing intro headers with annoying music….perfect!
Thanks so much David!
Just fixed my leaky kitchen faucet. A big thanks to you! Cheers!
That's great! Great job on your repair!
Thanks so much Bill for this video! I followed it religiously so to speak and it worked perfectly for me. It was hard finding a video for my Delta faucet which is years old. But the faucet in this video looked identical, except for the sprayer. But that didn't matter. Thanks again for recording this HOW TO video.
My pleasure. Great job!
Wonderful! Just what I needed to see to get the spring and rubber seals out. Thank you very much!
Glad it helped!
Super helpful and loved the clear step by step instructions!! Thank you so much!!
My pleasure, thanks!
Thank you. Replaced my faucet internals today using your video (incl grease). Went smoothly and works perfectly now.
Great job!
Thank you -- total beginner here -- managed to fix my leak based on the information you provided.
Great job Chris!
So helpful! Took 38 years before our delta faucet handle sheared the pin off the ball. Got the repair kit and ready for another 40 years.
Great job JM!
We had a soft ring under the cam assembly. It made it a mother to hold the notch in while screwing the cap back on.
Thanks for the easy to follow instructions! Great video! ♥
Very helpful easy to understand video. I followed each step to successfully repair my faucet for free. I got the free repair kit from Delta and had the faucet repaired within a week of watching your great video. I had never heard of plumbers grease, now I will never forget! Thanks!
Fantastic! Great job!
Just finished with the repairs, following your video all the way. Working perfectly -- thanks! There were a couple of spots where your video kept me from going down a bad path !
Excellent, great job!
Thank you for this RUclips! I called the number for Delta that you showed, and they are sending me a replacement kit free of charge!
Just got new parts from Delta and they have eliminated the ADJUSTING RING and replaced the Cam and Packing with a one piece. I’m glad I read the instructions. Your video was a great help.
Thanks John!
I`ll have to see if my new one comes that way without an adjusting ring.
Thank you SO MUCH! After several fails and a couple of frustrating hours, I figured out to put the small end of the spring in the hole first, then the seal over the large end, just the way the old one was. That was the only way I could get the seals to seat so it didn’t leak.
Extremely helpful video! I obtained my repair kit free of charge, as you implied it might be. Delta is great! Your video definitely helped my accomplish this long-needed task. Thank You good sir!
Thanks so much!
Thank you so much - once I patiently applied WD40 and a compressed air shot to the allen screw( a few applications over over a few days), everything was a cinch thanks to your instructions. One thing, as you and others have noted be sure and use original Delta Parts. A top local store's brand of repair parts just did not fit right and were a waste of time. The Delta Parts were a smooth operation and the faucet is just as new.
I watched this video today because I had a leaky Delta bathroom faucet with one handle. I say *had* because with this how-to, I was able to change out the seats and springs just like Bill did. THANKS BILL!
Great job!
Thanks ! i just changed my delta washers on my kitchen faucet using your video which was the best among the ones I've seen on RUclips. The hardest parts was removing the chrome cap after the handle was off because my model did not have slots for a wrench so i had to use a vice grip but it wouldn't budge at first but then someone explained to me i probably overtightened the wise grip and sure enough i just remove the cap with my fingers 🙂The other part more difficult was when everything was in place before putting the chrome cap back on. I had to use a screw driver to push everything in place that also left the part in its groove. It took 2 tries but I got it ! Turn the water back on and all is great and no more dripping !!! It was driving me nuts LOL
I just ordered the parts for my delta kitchen faucet and yes it's free! THANK YOU SO MUCH SPARKY!!! Subscribing and big thumbs up 👍👌👏
No problem, thanks!
Bill, you're awesome. I can't thank you enough for letting me know about Delta's lifetime replacement and the number to call. They are sending me out the parts I need to fix my 20+ year old kitchen faucet! 🙂 💞
That's great!
Thanks, Bill - I was just about to order a replacement cartridge for $50, when I came across your video. I called Delta, and they are sending me one for FREE!
Excellent!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge to help people. The repair worked perfectly, and thank god I followed your tip to block the drains or else I would have lost the little hex screw used to secure the handle.
Excellent!
Thanks for repairing a Delta which is what I have. The best video for the repair and the most concise on what to do to complete the job.
Thanks so much!
Thank you Bill. Your instructions are Clear and Concise. We ordered replacements parts and fixed our Delta faucet using your video.
Sounds good, thanks!
Great video. So many DIY videos I have watched leave out critical information assuming that everyone already knows about it. Your video went step by step and clearly explained the process taking out any guesswork and making the job simple. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for this detailed video.
I’m a 72 yr old lady
and love DIY’s. I’m going to give it a try
Best wishes Cindy!
Thanks. This was far superior to anything else I watched. You are a great teacher.
Thanks so much. Best wishes!
@@SparkyChannel All done. It’s working perfectly!!!!
Good vid Wild Bill and I called Delta a couple years ago after watching your vid and they did exactly what you said they would and got the repair kit from them ...
Yes, they love to send out repair kits but getting a new faucet to replace an old worn-out faucet is like pulling teeth! LOL!
I did the same after watching the video and Delta sent out the repair kit no questions asked except when bought and where. Thanks!
@@dstewart4458 Excellent, glad to hear it!
Thanks a thousand times for your instructions. You are the best!
thanks bill for all that you share with us ,mike.
Thanks Mike!
Your video was a lifesaver, Bill. My kitchen sink has no shutoff valves so a mistake would have meant no water to the entire house. I wondered about all the plumber's grease, and after I finished the handle would not stay up. But once I wiped the grease off the ball, the thing worked prefectly.
Excellent!
Great video and AWESOME advice regarding the tip about Delta providing replacement parts if you are the original owner when the faucet was installed. Just received confirmation from Delta that the needed part is on the way.
I knew how to do that because I've done it many times in my 60 years of married life, BUT ... I watched your video anyway. I must say you made an excellent video and did a great job of explaining and showing each and every step for those who didn't know, or have never done it before! - Well done Sparky! 😀👍
Thanks so much!
Thanks for all the guidance on this. Our delta single handle wall mount faucet (from 1990's?) has been long out of production, but after waiting on hold and sending photos, they sent us all the parts we needed (in 3 shipments from 2 different states). Your video made it as easy as you make it look.
Great job, way to go!
Got my faucet fixed easily, thanks to you. Awesome detail.
Great to hear!
Great video. Thank you for such clear and detailed instructions.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks Blanch!
Outstanding. Our younger workers eat Sparky Channel videos up like candy - the explanations are clear and the layout accessible.
Thanks so much!
used this video step by step and did the entire repair without a hitch. Thanks.
Very good instructional video. Straight to the point, no fluff.
Thanks!
Thank you Bill! I'm about to replace a 40 year old Moen kitchen faucet with a brand new Delta Classic. (Or rather, a plumber is about to replace the faucet, since there are no hot/cold water shut off valves, which need to be installed, and that's way beyond my ability to deal with.) But looking ahead I wanted to be able to know how to fix any leaks that will inevitably occur down the road. I saw replacement kits on Amazon but after watching this video I'll just contact Delta since the faucet comes with a lifetime warranty. But people said there are no instructions that come with these kits, so I searched on RUclips (what would we do without RUclips instructional videos?) and found this one. It's perfect. Much appreciated. Be well.
Sounds great! Best wishes!
@@SparkyChannel Thanks. 1 quick question: How wide do the jaws of the adjustable wrench need to be able to open to work with the nut on this faucet? (i.e. will 1.5" be wide enough, or does it need to be bigger? I know they should be smooth jaws, just not sure how wide.)
Worked like a charm. Don't skip the grease. A Big South Florida Thank You, Wild Bill. $12 on Amazon to Fix it. The water valves gave me some trouble. However, after knocking on them with a wrench and a little WD-40 they loosen right up.
Great job William! Yes, those valves can get pretty tight.:)
Worked like a charm, everything I needed to do this myself, thank you so much!
You're very welcome!
Awesome video. Now I just need to fix my faucet, but this makes me less overwhelmed about the whole thing.
You're what makes RUclips great!
This was perfect. Thanks! Note: the RP36147 kit comes with a slightly different cam assembly (two parts with white plastic top), but it works just like the one used in this video.
Good tip, thanks!
Hi you are the best! Had a delta faucet leaking around the base when turned on and the spout and base parts were easy to take off, exposing the o rings. Your intro prompted me to call delta who was VERY nice and helpful. They will send me an oring kit for free this time (prob b/c Im not the original owner) and I was able to stop the leak with some teflon tape for now. Liked and subbed!
Thanks Charlie. Welcome to Sparky Channel!
YaY-Hey!! You Have Really Helped Me Out!! Had a 'handyman' help with this and he did such a lousy job!! Didn't grease almost anything, left the white plastic ring at the bottom of neck of the faucet!! I did it All over again. Only had trouble with the grey cam, not staying down, it kept wanting to spring on up. I held it down and put the chrome cap on tightened it carefully! But not too tight. Faucet swings back and forth a Lot better than when the guy 'fixed' it! Guess if you want something done, do it yourself or look for Sparky to help me out! Thank You Ever So Much! Take care, and keep up the fantastic work!!😁🤩😁
Great job! Sometimes a little more attention to detail makes a big difference. Thanks!
Great video, thanks Bill!!!
Thanks Ted!
thank you so much for mentioning the plastic washer which fits it in bottom of the handle part--could not get it working without this important step--now no leaks; your step by step was really good
Glad I could help! Yes, it won't work correctly without that washer.
Phenomenal demonstration thank you!
Thank you for a wonderfully detailed yet not too wordy explanation how to replace this single type of faucet. I rent but the current repair person is sadly inept and makes a huge mess for simple repairs. I was shocked at the results of the 6 inches caulking job under the tub faucet he did in my shower/bathtub that still had gaps, zero confidence. I fixed my leaky kitchen faucet without any surprises or lengthily clean up after.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. Wish everyone that does these videos would take the time to explain everything the way you did. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! We fixed a leak thanks to your video
Excellent, way to go!
This was so thorough and clear to follow. Thanks so much! You sound a bit like the infamous Scotty Kilmer (auto guy on RUclips with 5.13 million subscribers). Thought he was branching out. Appreciate that you give as easy to understand instructions as he does. Feel more confident now to attempt this fix.
My pleasure. LOL! Nope, I'm not Scotty.
Thank you for your guidance. I just a couple snafus. One was that the hot water shutoff leaked, so I had to turn off the main water valve and the water heater intake to get the hot water to stop. The tip to get the corroded handle off with wd40 was great.
Excellent presentation and good information. Got mine working after I replaced the little springs and seals with a "kit" thank you !
Way to go!
Thank you! I just completed this repair with your help!
Glad it helped!
Nailed it got the first time
plain & simple right to the point
Excellent, great job!
Very very helpful and very professional spoken!
This video is perfect which provides not only repair detail but also parts&material source. Thanks.
Glad it helped!
Excellent detailed description. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Without question, the BEST video re how to fix a Delta single lever faucet! Your step-by-step instructions are not only clear and easy to understand, but you take into account things that an experienced plumber might not think to bring to a novice "plumber's" attention. Your thoughtful attention to detail, together with your confident and encouraging manner enabled me to successfully repair my kitchen tap. I feel such a sense of accomplishment! I could never have done it without your expertise. Many, many thanks!
Congratulations, great job! I'm glad my video helped!
Thank you for posting this helpful video!:)
No problem, thanks!
Bill, love the video. Complete, concise and very easy to follow. Thank you! The only thing I would mention is "if" you still see a slow drip after replacing all faucet parts (Delta of course ;-)) check your aerator. It can hold hard water sediment; the washers may need to be replaced etc. This was my case.
Good tip, thanks!
Very informative and helpful! Thanks for the video!
My pleasure!
This was very helpful. Fixed our faucet without calling a plumber. Now that's a first! $$$$$$
Fantastic! Great job Dennis!

This is really well done! Thank you

Thanks - this was a good video and helped me quickly fix my faucet!
Glad it helped, thanks! Great job!
Nice precise video. I've done this several times, but had missed the o- ring part. Thanks.
Glad it helped! Good job Dave!
Great video! This helped me out a lot!
Very good explanation on how to repair a leaky faucet. One thing I would caution viewers on is to be careful not to score the ball seat with the screwdriver. I would use something like my Dremel tool with a brass wire brush attachment for that part of the job. I also thought it might be a good idea to put a little plumbers grease on the outside of the two rubber inserts before reinstalling them in the housing.
Thanks for sharing!
