  • Many people are unfamiliar with Type 3c Diabetes (pancreatogenic) which develops from damage to the pancreas. Marilyn Tan, MD, focuses on the types of diabetes, the diagnosis of Type 3c diabetes, normal pancreatic function, the causes & effects of Type 3c diabetes, treatment goals, management, and challenges & future directions. Leah Groppo, RD focuses on nutrition recommendations, tools for managing blood glucose, when to check your glucose, carb counting, nutrition facts, meal examples, and foods to limit. #leahgroppo
    Speakers:
    Leah Groppo, RD, MS, BC-ADM, CDCES, is a Clinical Dietitian in Stanford’s Endocrinology Clinic and Diabetes Care Program.
    Marilyn Tan, MD, FACE, is double board certified in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine. She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine and chief of the Endocrine Clinic at Stanford Health Care. Dr. Tan practices general endocrinology, but her main clinical interests are outpatient and inpatient diabetes management. Her research interests include diabetes and post bariatric hypoglycemia.
