- Soprano Catherine Laidler-Lau and pianist Robert Ludwig performed one of the immortal parlor songs from the 1890's, "Love's Old Sweet Song" by J L Molley (1884) at an anniversary concert for the Cathedral of the Incarnation, Garden City, in Long Island, circa 1996.
How beautiful that is, and wonderful piano. A magical moment. Thank you.
You have a truly beautiful voice which seems perfectly poised to see this song! If I close my eyes, I can imagine you are Molly Bloom giving a recital! Very nice!
Me, too,, TTFM! It's hard to find a rendition that not too operatic and over-the-top or syrupy and schmaltzy with cheesy listening strings! Reading Ulysses will make you a lover of this song!
Beautiful and heartwarming singing, thank you.
sorry your accompanist screwed up at 1:51. You are marvelous!
James Joyce brought me here.
me too
Great rendition! (By the way it's JL Molloy (not Molley) 1837-1909)
Still prefer the Hinge and Bracket version.
