Oh, Game Pass, the savior of all gaming! How could anyone forget they're paying for online when they're drowning in the immense value it provides? I mean, who needs free online play and a multitude of free games on PC when you can pay for the privilege, am I right? Emulation and all those worthless free games on Steam and Epic? Keep in mind that consoles only have a 1 year warranty. PC has a minimum warranty of 3 years. Both Microsoft and Sony have done backwards compatibility recently. Microsoft did it because Xbox One was losing out to PS4 and Sony did it on the PS5 because Microsoft were doing it. Neither of these two would have done backwards compatibility if the Xbox One had done well in the market.

Like 70$ games are becoming more common on PC, it's still more rare, but i want to keep that kind of stuff away. and though paid online already failed on PC (games for windows-live was a flop and they had to make it free in like a single year), it can always come back. the consoles are getting incredibly uncompetitive and this shows it, and an uncompetitive industry hurts everyone in a free market.

"plug and play" is dead, couch co-op is almost dead and it's not even cheaper anymore. If you don't want to move to PC, id imagine you wouldn't want them to make it more expensive to play on consoles than PC for no reason, but they just did that.
The switch isn't safe anymore either. Console guys were really keen to play up the portability, ease of use, and the exclusive games of the nintendo switch but now the Steam Deck does all those things better. The only thing switch has over steam deck is online matchmaking in splatoon 2 & 3 but no one cares about online multiplayer on the switch except literal children.
On pc you can cater to what you want or need too, if you just want something that plays the same games as the ps5 but dont care if it's 1080p, you can go cheaper. Or if you want an objectively better experience you can pay more and run games at native 4k instead of upscaled 4k like the consoles, or run them at over 100 fps if you want. And you don't have to pay to play games online with the internet that you already pay for 😉
Nobody else will say it. Nothing beats the value of just pirating games. I have saved hundreds, if not thousands just downloading games off the internet. It's a better service overall. Updates are done manually. DRM free. No storefront. Best for last, it's FREE. That's why PC gaming will forever and always be the best experience.
The issue with pc players is they do not understand noone cares. I do not care if im spending money on a game its just moronic to think everyone cares if one is cheaper. Console gaming can be really cheap if you never subscribe to any online services, and just play used games. That doesn’t mean pcgaming is expensive though, it’s still cheap if you play your cards right.
I like the quality of life features that Steam gives you like cloud saves, easy steamdeck compatibility, community features and steam workshop so I don't mind pickling up some games when they are on sale. I also get the clear conscious of not doing something that's technically illegal.
The whole pc is to expensive argument is so annoying. If you can save up $500 for a console you can save up a little more for a good pc. With todays components a 800 to 1k pc will do just fine and if you are really that strapped for cash you can get used components and you’ll still end up with a good system. I’m not gonna say 800 or 1k is a small amount of money it sucks when you pull the trigger but you won’t have to spend that much again. Need a bit more performance upgrade the part that’s holding you back and sell the old one and boom you got way more performance for less than a new console. When I did the math my ps4 and Xbox will all the games and online stuff was twice as expensive as my pc set up which is just ridiculous.

PC players are even (100% legally to my knowledge, im not a lawyer, this is not legal advice) reverse engineering games and having source-code means that these games will be able to be built for future OSes, be preserved almost indefinitely (better than a physical game) and have unlimited mod potential. The "ownership" of games is by far better on PC, it's not even close. and yes for exclusives, PC has by far the most exclusives, it's not even funny, it gets even worse when you count games that don't work on modern consoles but do on PC, then it's so lopsided the question is almost ridiculous.

Your assumption that it's more powerful than 3060 is based only on teraflops. There's a lot more to it than that. The math checks out. The pinned comment is a build that is more powerful than the PS5 or Series X for $800. Even if it was $1000 or $1200, it would still provide much more value than a console ever could. And that's not an opinion. It's a simple fact.
The $800$ build in the pinned comment uses an RX 6750 XT. The PS5 uses a modified 6600 XT and the Xbox Series X a modified 6700 XT. The build is objectively more powerful, that is just a fact. PCs don't magically last less than consoles do. My girlfriend's video card has done great for 8 years in my PC and is now still going strong in hers despite an extremely aggressive overclock. Games are also cheaper on PC. The notion that physical media magically makes the games cheaper is just wrong. PC game keys are still cheaper than used console games more than 90% of the time. YOU lost this battle long ago. Tons of PC builds proved you can pay a similar amount to a console and it will last just as long with better performance. This has been proven again and again over the last decade. PC gamers don't care about Xbox, we play on PC. Xbox doesn't matter to us and guess what, I can play whatever game I want on my RTX 4090. Anything from 1970 to today. Console game selection is far more limited.

PC prices don't get so low. eBay prices are on par with Steam sales only you don't have to wait for a sale. Walmart has clearence, pawn shops have games, library's have games, garage sales have games. Due to physical media you can get some insane deals. All PC content has become pro Xbox content or anti PlayStation content. PC lost the argument.
