To me... Mobile isn't a gaming device, but just a tool for communication and multimedia. If I want to play video games, get a PSVita, get a new3DS, Switch, or SteamDeck.

I can’t say I’m not surprised to see AAA game failing on mobile, especially when you got Warzone Mobile *MELTING* iPhones.

@@RealBasedSpartanwell I have an iPhone 14pro max. It definitely improved performance for some devices. I don’t think AAA games couldn’t work on iPhones. In my opinion it’s a combination of engines that weren’t designed for iPhone and then not recognizing that phones will overheat on max performance. This could be solved by targeting a lower power sealing.

Full price on a phone is insane. Good to hear that they didn't sell well. Edit: btw kinda wished gameplay of the mentioned games were in the video instead of spongebob. Or maybe screenshots of tweets/ articles related to the subject. Even a black screen would be better than spongebob.

Gaming mobile phones honestly make zero sense nowadays when the Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch, and similar devices exist now. Streaming through GeForce Now is not terrible on a good connection.
The only mobile gaming I touch are some gacha games (playing as F2P) and emulators. Nobody in their right mind would spend $60 on a mobile port of a game. They didn't learn from the old iPhone era back when companies like Square Enix, EA, and Activision were doing $10-20 ports of games.
If Apple wanted to be taken seriously as a gaming platform, they should focus on the Mac by adding backwards compatibility with old Apple software (Stuff that uses x86 or PowerPC and OpenGL), supporting Vulkan (Even if it's through a system-side implementation of MoltenVK or something), and getting Valve to make Proton work with it.

The problem I have with iPhone gaming when it comes to AAA games is that its not an immersive or comfortable way to game for something that is suppose to be your phone, camera, web browser and such. Plus the drain on battery life.
Even with the best mobile controllers, you sacrifice a lot to just game on the phone. I would just stick with my dedicated gaming handheld for that.

In the future, mobile devices will easily be able to play these AAA Games. I just think that rn we're only at the brink of whats possible. This is like the same arguments people way back used to use with handheld consoles vs. home consoles.

I tried RE7 on iPhone and I think it's impressive how well the games can run but I refuse to pay 20+ for a game that will only play on the iPhone I own - and that's on top of having to pay the Apple Premium Price of an iPhone. Impressive but not worth it. I would recommend this if we didn't have all these handheld PC game machines, but the fact of the matter is that they exist and I don't even think the iPhone is the best phone for gaming.

Honestly I never saw the appeal of putting full ass games on mobile considering it'd cost you more to run it on a phone than a console or PC. As for the controller thing, I myself have one of those for my PS4 controller and I used to hook my phone to it and play emulators. I don't really do so anymore, but I find it far more appealing to get my PS4 Controller with the clip and play Dolphin and emulate GameCube and Wii games full speed, or maybe PS2 games with AetherSX2 (Before it got taken down), NES, SNES, N64 (Mupen64PlusFZ), Mega Drive, Master System, Game Gear, GB/GBC/GBA, DS, etc. Hell even MAME has a good android version. I'd much rather spend my time running emulators on my phone and getting a bigger library to access and games I'd want to play on the go as opposed to playing something like RE4 Remake on the go (I have my PC for that at home).

Ive never seen anyone judged for not using apple. It must be a big city thing.
The biggest issue with playing these games on Iphone is that it's always going to be the worst version you're getting. Also Apple uses Metal and not something like DirectX or Vulkan. So it's something devs have less experience in.

No in Europe Android is.more popular than iphone. Virtually nobody in europe uses imessage as well because of android even apple users dont use it. Everyone uses whatsapp. IPhone is most popular in US, Canada, Japan and Australia. The rest of the markets s Android that is most popular.
